I mean the Phillies did blow a 7 run lead to the Mets in the 9th inning last year so it’s not out of the question lol

One would think he can cruise for 5 or 6 innings today, but it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see the Reds put up a couple of crooked numbers and make it a game, either

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Phillies bullpen has been a dumpster fire this year. Unless he is just on and goes 7-8 good chance the pen gives up 3-4 easily

I don't understand the USFL playing in hub cities rather than having a home field for each team.  Having an XFL and USFL game on during the same time slot you can just tell that real home fans in the XFL make a big difference than the fans attending the USFL games.

Imagine the Philadelphia Stars playing at Subaru Field along the river.  I've been to Nova/UD there and it's a fantastic football venue.  Real silly to be the Philadelphia Stars but never be in Philly.

I've seen about 10 mins of it over the past couple of days, and that big stadium looks stupid with so few people on it.  No atmosphere; you could hear a gnat break wind in there.  I did chuckle when I saw it earlier and a certain QB fumbled the ball.

His son really is the man behind the scenes I think and he does a pretty bang up job with the drafts. Not afraid to take LB's that are seen at a lesser value. I give him credit for taking Parsons, Howie would never meanwhile the guy is a generational player that majorly affects games.

Reddick had better metrics last year.

Give the cowboys' drafting ability to this organization and we're on KC's level year in and year out. It's the one thing they do well consistently

Do they?  I think they have a bad habit of picking pieces that don’t fit well together.

I find it more curious that there was an article that came out that said the NFL still wasn’t thrilled even though the commanders were selling for $6 billion. And then a couple days later, there’s an offer for $7 billion.

The sale of a franchise is the most concrete valuation of their own - I’m sure the new wave of owners/ownership groups/ stupid sons need the equity.

Dallas doesn’t care about culture. They pretend to but they draft and build with no concerns about off field issues or personalities. So maybe they "draft better” but I’d find it hard to argue they build a better team.

I think they’ve been better at drafting and developing top-end talent, but their approach to roster construction has always been poor.  They still value LB and RB a lot higher than most teams, for instance

Yep , Forbes , Stevenson and Gonzales

Gonzales is #1.  I see the attraction in Forbes but the size scares me.  Sydney Jones had mad coverage skills but never could get above 180 and that hurt him tremendously.  That said, then again you have Maddox at 184 that plays like he is 6’ and 200 pounds. Forbes certainly has coverage skills but that doesn’t take away his Pinkston build.  Stevenson isn’t as grabby as some college CBs but does seem to rely on the bump and run.  Really would have concerns about him in a zone heavy team unless they are dedicated to Man Match.

When I posted before about how raw Anthony Richardson is as a prospect and mentioned only Cam Newton had thrown fewer college passes, of course I left out a very recent QB prospect who went #3 overall in Trey Lance.  I liked Lance quite a bit in that draft, but more in the 15-20 range.  The Niners went off the reservation taking him at #3 and gave up a ton of draft assets to do so.

Pretty funny the Niners have 11 picks in this draft, but almost no real draft capital.  Their first pick is #99 overall.  It brings an interesting question to mind for me:

If you were Howie and Lynch called about moving up in the draft, would you trade #62 overall to SF in exchange for picks 99, 101, and 102?

No

The NFL needs to purchase both leagues and have each NFL team represented. I would watch the eagles jv team

Weird dude.

This meme brings up the question of when the NFL will follow the NBA's lead and stop testing for marijuana.  I guess they only test now between the start of training camp and 1st preseason game but I dont even know why they do that.   Testing for marijuana really is ridiculous considering all the drugs they give these guys.

FB_IMG_1681665024230.jpg

Time for PA to legalize it before losing out to tax revenue to NY, NJ, MD, DE.  As so many Eagles live in NJ, I hope the NFL goes away from testing for pot.  They also have to get more sensible than suspending players for taking medications under prescription.  How nonsensical is it to suspend a player for taking a drug to increase fertility trying to have a child.  Or forgetting to register for ADD drugs.  I understand avoiding performance enhancing drugs but to think deadening pain doesn’t enhance performance is nonsense.

Beast during pre draft discussion is hardly a troll, he just names players he likes.  That said, the troll you selected is close to how I always imaging Beast (Original Sin).

Yeah, that’s a no brainer. I would make that deal with no hesitation.

They draft well, they generally (as of recently) evaluate players correctly and pick players that can play at a high level. That's what I mean by drafting well.

The eagles problem is evaluating players, they just aren't as good at it. That's why we end up with Marcus smiths, Sidney jones, jjaws, pumphreys, etc. Credit to Howie, the last two drafts have been much better

Good old Howard erskin lol

This would make me very happy.

I’d love to snag him in the 3-4 round range. Eagles have also had good history with bearcat players

You'd be ok with two undersized starting linebackers in Dean & Pace? I like Pace but I'm hesitant with Dean already getting one starting spot.

He has good tape but I’m concerned he measured 5’10.5 at the Combine and didn’t run a 40.  Dean is already a 5’10 guy at the position.

I’d still prefer Sanders at 6’4 and plays a similar style, and likely better in coverage.

I brought that up last week when I talked about him.  The way Pace plays the game, I'm not concerned about his size one bit. Sure, 5-10 230 isn't ideal but he just has a playing style that this team is lacking.  Mychal Kendricks was the same kind of player and he's the one guy I wanted during that draft.  I think Pace can come in and be just as effective, if not more so.

Nick Bolton is 5-11 237 and plays the exact same type of game Pace does.  He was all over the field during the SB.

I'd love to see the Eagles double dip with Sanders and Pace.
