You take a guy like JSN for the future (just like any of the OL prospects).  JSN allows you to to have flexibility with Brown and Smith when it's time to make that decision.  My gut tells me Brown is moved before his contract is up and Smith is here long term.  If/when Brown is moved, JSN is ready to roll.

Don't think there's any chance that happens. They will probably draft a mid round WR who doesn't demand a lot of touches. Someone with down field abilities.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

That's confusing.  Howie has the Eagles at some where around $16 million in current cap space.  I know you have the draft class to sign.  Maybe the plan is make as much available in 2023 that can be rolled over to 2024 to help pay for Hurts?  Or are they saving money in case a guy like Budda Baker is brought in and they front load his new deal?

Maybe leaving the cap space open for a Buddha Baker trade.  😶😶

Brown isn't going anywhere this year and next year he's lined up to be restructured. Even if they don't restructure they don't have a realistic out until 2025. They don't need to draft a high volume slot guy in 2023 who isn't going to be getting high volume for half his rookie contract.

Think i meant Harrison but thats good stuff too

Harrison is #71, right? He looked kind of grabby to me. A holding call ready to happen. That can be coached out of him, I expect.

One thing I noticed was that Morris tends to get his hands inside the defender's in pass pro. Harrison, OTOH, often has his hands outside. Like I said, grabby.

It's an odd thing. When I looked at the Maryland tackles, I liked Anderson more than Duncan. The same seems to be true here with the OU tackles. Swimming against the tide, I guess. Or rank stupidity.

I'm sure Lane has some insights on these guys, and Stoutland, of course.

So Josh Huff? 😂

Worst outcome for the team. Lose the SB and cripple the cap over paying him

This is a better outcome than Hurts not panning out as a QB last season.  I think your concern is valid in terms of how the deal impacts FA signings and retaining some of the younger players.

Right, like I said in my initial post.  2025 is the year it all gets interesting.  JSN was a name I threw out for this year.  Harrison is my pipe dream, but it's still a situation that becomes important to watch sooner than later.

Yes, please throw him out.  You can get Josh Downs two rounds later.

I feel this way if the eagles were ever really serious about wanting to deal hurts during this contract then would  hurts really want to be here knowing the eagles don’t want him at that point? Feel like most would say likely not but this gives him some leverage in where hes traded to if it ever came to that as he just invokes no trade if he doesn’t like the team they wanted to ship him too.

Whoever the new producer is on WIP midday show is an idiot.

"I don't like that they gave Hurts a no trade clause. If Carson Wentz was given a no trade clause he'd still be on this team."

Yes, the guy that wanted to be traded and was traded to the team he wanted to be traded to would still be here if he had a no trade clause. Lol.

She did an excellent job.  There's been no leaks from her about Jalen being unhappy and the status of the negotiations. No tweets or leaks to Schefter about Hurts needing to be the highest paid QB in the League.   All of the statements have been from the Eagles' side.  Jalen seems like he's probably an easy client but it's not like she's been saying anything to anyone about the status.  She also understood the value of getting a deal done and the leverage she had for him this season.  A lot of agents could learn from her approach.

According to reports, the extension has a net zero effect on the cap this year with the way it is structured. Not bad.

Jalen deserved the contract.

I'm sure Howie has structured it in a way that he can restructure every year to move money around just like he does with Lanes contract every year.

I like Downs but JSN is really good. I'd even be a, fine there with him at 10 kinda good.

I've always wondered how Lane's status with the league effects how Howie treats him.  Isn't Lane on a 1 more strike and you're out of the league standing in regards to performance substance use?  Just always thought that Howie keeps that in the back of his head and uses it to keep an upper hand of sorts in negotiations with Lane Johnson.

I wouldn't take JSN before the 3rd round.  He's never played a snap out wide, he has no speed, he's a chain-mover in a role that can be filled much later.  Not a dynamic player, but a volume producer

O-line now all but a guarantee with one of the first two picks

Or perhaps the Eagles have treated him very well and helped him through some difficult times in his career, especially when he had that mental breakdown.

Have some of you guys had just terrible managers/bosses in your lives? It seems like a lot of scenarios here are based on people being treated by the stick instead of the carrot.

It's not sexy but if the Eagles got Carter and Torrence in round 1, I think that's a pretty big win.

Did I miss anything?

Not saying they are treating him bad at all.

Yes he is but I'm not sure Howie uses that against him, he's not the only player that Howie restructured and it's not like Lane is taking a pay cut Howie is just giving him more guaranteed money up front to alleviate current cap, if I understand it correctly which I probably don't, I'm not much of a capologist but I dint think Howie is doing anything sketchy with lane and lane seems perfectly content with eagles.

Birds tried to get TO by trading James Thrash and a 5th.

When you perform like Hurts did in the Super Bowl after a season like he had then you've answered all the questions

Not all of them. But he most important one. Is he good enough to win a super bowl with? Yes, I think he proved that even though we didnt win.

On a rookie deal with a soft schedule maybe
