Another reason I’d really like Mazi or Benton

Those guys make more sense to me than the Baylor kid.

I honestly havent really looked at him except very briefly a long time ago. I dont remember being too impressed. But Im not sure which microscope I was looking at him under. Im not sure if I was looking for speed, or power, or a potential lead back.... Id have to look again.

I also havent paid enough attention to McBride or Spears yet who are popular names in here. I couldnt tell you a thing about them. I need to do that.

He’s probably just a committee back, but he has a knack for making high speed cuts in the open field that are something else. Reminds me of Swift in that regard. Like I said earlier, he has some inconsistent vision. I’m not sure how fixable that is, but maybe in Philly with a better OL and a QB who draws the attention of an extra defender that wont be such a problem.

I should add that I think those two have some upside as a pass rusher. Smith might never be a guy who plays obvious passing downs, but I think he can provide enough as a pass rusher to  be a positive out there.

I guess, but you also want to have at least one DT who can rush the passer on early downs. Davis isn’t that yet, and a guy like the Baylor DT ain’t it either.

Ive really come to like Benton a ton. Hes a well rounded complete player.

Whenever a DL is a former wrestler, that says a lot to me.

I think we have all slept on Kenny McIntosh. He actually reminds me of both of our top RBs from last year. A mix between Gainwell, and Sanders.

@ManuManu I remember you making a brief comment in passing during a Georgia game something like this McIntosh guy is pretty good.

He only ran a 4.64 at the combine. I think he looks faster than that. He at least has good burst in the early part of his runs. And his hands look very good too. Natural pass catcher, even tracking deep balls over his shoulder.

This is good stuff

DTs who can be pocket-pushers also works for us.

He reminds me of TJ Yeldon.  UGA RB can get lost in any conversation because they just keep churning them out and they use such a heavy rotation.

The interest in a second NT is interesting.

I feel like the case where Carter falls to us is the case where the stuff we haven't heard yet about him is really bad otherwise he won't.  I don't at all get the people here who say they don't think his tape is good. That just makes me think they are contrarians just for the sake of it

For all the talk about Quez being a deep threat this is interesting.

Quez Watkins- 51 targets, 33 catches- 354 yards 10.7 YPC 3TD.  Longest catch, 53 yards.

Olamide Zaccheaus- 61 targets, 40 catches- 533 yards 13.3 YPC 3TD. Longest catch, 45 yards.

I know there's more to being a deep threat than what you see in the stats, but Zaccheaus equaled or outperformed Qeuz in almost every category.

Which half?

It’s a fluid situation.

McBride is on my list of day 3 guys I would be highly interested in. See also: Emari Demercado TCU, Eric Gray OU, Evan Hull Northwestern. McBride’s big knock is we don’t know what his hands and route running skills are as he was not asked to do it often at UAF. Kid is a beast of a runner though. Love his contact balance. Demercado has 3-down potential and a lot of tread on the tires as he backed up Kendre. Eric Gray is shifty and elusive and a very good pass catching option out of the backfield. Evan Hull is cut from rock and is another exceptional pass catcher out of the backfield, he had 55 catches and can pass protect. He may be my favorite day 3 RB option.

Of couree not but think about all the misses or times they got left with their D in their hands. Thats a more complete data set

All teams have missed and D in their hands. The Draft is a bit of a crapshoot.

Its more game theory than rolling dice

have your decision trees based on roi, need and talent. Then dont be a panicky spaz

RAS does not judge "Drops a perfect ball in your hands inside the 5 yard line, costing your team 4 points in a Super Bowl"

Quez hauls that in and KC is forced to try to score a TD fast at the end instead of killing clock for a FG and the whole game changes.

McBride worries me for two reasons: 1. He had 9 fumbles the last two years and 2. lesser competition. Gray seems like a super solid guy and perfect fit in this offense. Hull and McIntosh both provide a lot of versatility with their receiving ability but it appears this coaching staff/system doesn't value that a whole lot.

Has anyone looked into Kendre Miller at all? I can't bring myself to want to draft a skill player from TCU after Reagor but that probably isn't fair.

As for the DT conversation I would agree that they need another DT who can stop the run a lot more than one who can rush the passer. Not only that if they are going to play some three and five man fronts they need another guy who can play nose in addition to Davis. Smith and Benton would be great picks since they can play nose and some 3 technique. Ika is more one dimensional and I'm not sure they need two one dimensional NT's.

Kendre is a solid 3-down guy who does everything well but isn’t spectacular in any one aspect of the position.

Hull is a very good receiver and pass blocker, but he’s also a pretty good power-style RB. I’m a really big fan of his and would be thrilled if they grab him on Day 3.

Mazi is actually my top want at DT. Kid is an absolute "freak beast.”

Is he also versatile?

He’s my hope at 30 but think he gets scooped up in top 20 (Steelers)

I’m probably just galaxy braining this, but I wondered the other day if Miami would cut Cedrick Wilson. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong Dolphins WR. With their obsession with speed (They have Hill, Waddle, Wilson and now Anderson along with signing Braxton Berrios), perhaps they don’t see Erik Ezukanma as a fit. He was a mid-4th round pick last year but barely played. Maybe he’s the odd man out. He might work as a big a lot who can do some of the dirty work that Pascal did. I wouldn’t give up anything major for him, maybe a pick swap or he’s used by the Dolphins to move up later in the draft.

There were rumors several weeks ago if they couldn't trade him they may cut him.

I assume that’s the way it will play out.

Tried watching Yaya Diaby since he has some fans. Total waste of time. The one cut-up I saw was against Cincinnati and he basically was a 4i or DT the whole game. There was nothing to take away from that game other than he has a good motor.
