The weight thing varies. When teams go to a light box (4-2) they need two big uglies at DT. That 4-2 has two down DTs and two stand-up DEs. If they're going to a 4i-type alignment they really only need one at NT with guys who can play the run at the 4i positions but don't have to be 320.

Everybody else has to be fast.

Schematically i can see the fit for a D that intends to play the pass bc our offense puts the other team behind

like anything else, it works until it doesnt

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

According to the ESPN article today:

Howie Roseman, the team's general manager. Robinson is the best running back in this year's draft -- the space between the former Longhorn and his peers is, conservatively, Texas-sized -- but Roseman has one request:

Pitch me, he says. Why do I need to take you at No. 10?

"You're not going to get a running back," says the most lauded running back prospect in years. "You're going to get a difference-maker."

That's one hell of a pitch, Roseman says.

I listened to Bill Polian last night discussing LB prospects in the draft.  He says Drew Sanders and Jack Campbell are both first round talents and the only 3-down LBs in the draft.  I'm going to have to watch more of Jack Campbell; to me he looks too slow and would get exposed in coverage.

Drew Sanders, OTOH, is a chess piece that could be used in a multitude of ways.  I know the Eagles aren't going to take him, but I hope to heck he's not drafted into the NFC East.

The Cowboys, every year.

I'm reminded of two greats of yore - Bobby Mitchell and Charlie Taylor. Both began their NFL careers as RBs and converted to WR. Both are in the HOF. Bijan looks like a heck of a receiver and having a stud RB who can split out makes for real matchup problems for a defense. Bryan Westbrook could do both and Bijan is a better RB and potentially as good a receiver.

Just a thought.

If Dalvin Cook is released, any interest?   He's been productive, but injuries are piling up.  Definitely a committee back now.

Sign all the RBs and draft Bijan!!!!!!

Would be kind of funny if we went RB (Bijan) and LB (Simpson, Sanders, Campbell) at 30.  World might blow up

Adam Caplan has done a CIA-grade reconnaissance mission across 32 National Football League front offices to assemble a mock draft for us simple people. Enjoy.

The Luk Ness Monster would be pretty uninspiring at #10, but I wouldn't mind Branch at #30 -- he'd be better after a small trade-down, though.

Van Ness and Branch make sense, but would be really underwhelming.

Drafting a RB early is dumb but...

Can you imagine what Penny/Robinson/Hurts could do behind this OL?  That run game would be otherworldly.

Bijan/Branch would also blow up Eagles tendencies.

Good RB crop... no thanks.  Good TE draft... not today.  Excellent CB depth... I'll throw ya bone in the 7th.

What a disaster of a top 10 that would be if that's how it actually falls

Darrell Luter Jr. is my late round CB sleeper.  Think he matches up well with what we do

If that happens, we're trading down to a team who wants Richardson

Eskin said today from talking to people he doesn't think Skoronski will be the guy if they go OL. He doesn't think they are as high on him as others.

Baldy was on WIP and he's not a Nolan Smith guy. They went through some prospects with him. He loves Tyree Wilson.

"Lukas Van Ness, who several personnel executives I’ve spoken to of late believe won’t make it past the Eagles here..."

Well now I don't know what to think.  Didinger says he would draft Skoronski, which makes me 100% NOT want them to draft Skoronski.  Now, Eskin says the Eagles don't have interest in Skoronski, which makes me believe the Eagles 100% WILL draft Skoronski.

Then Baldy says he's not a Nolan Smith guy, but I know if the Eagles draft Nolan Smith that Baldy will be the first guy putting out a clip montage talking about what a great pick Nolan Smith is.

It's all very confusing.  One more week to go.

New uniforms to complain about!
