However, take your Reddick comparison. Reddick is one of the elite pass rushers in the NFL. Hence, he is unique. If youre talking about a carbon copy, that player is going to be unique.

Lukas Van Ness it is. 

I'm not a fan of drafting Van Ness at 10 but I would disagree as he one of the first players I thought of when I heard Howie say unique. Van Ness has the speed and athletic ability to rush the passer from the outside, and the power/strength to line up inside and do that as well.

Nolan Smith is another player I am not a fan of picking at 10 but also has some unique ability. The pro comp is Reddick and it's a fair one and there aren't many guy with the freak athletic ability to put their hand in the dirt at 240 and rush the passer not only with speed but power.

Smith was tasked with far more run defense than pass rushing.

What anyone who drafts Van Ness is thinking.

Van Ness is either going to make a lot of teams look silly for not taking him, or make the team who did take him look like morons. I just feel like he is the ultimate boom or bust pick. At 15-20 I'm cool with a guy like that, but not at 10.

For the Nolan folks:

Prior to suffering a season-ending pec injury in late October, Smith generated a 17.7 percent pressure rate in 2022, ranking fourth in the SEC by PFF's count. He also posted the highest pass-rush win percentage (23.5 percent).

I had to look at last years uniforms to even understand what was changed. Apparently just the shoulder pad area. Same colors, same font, just more boring.

Haason Reddick is pretty much the only player like him in the league though. How many high level pass rushers are there that are only 240 pounds.

Maybe he can get there but right now he seems like a one trick pony. Bull rush and that’s about it.
