Well... I can't say that they lost the Super Bowl because of the defense... but they sure played a huge role in that loss.  It is definitely possible that with a different DC, the Eagles win that game. It literally only would have taken one more stop in the 2nd half to make victory very, very possible.  In fact, that last possession where the Eagles gave up the 3rd down conversion on the controversial defensive hold call was looked at by many as a potential tipping point.  And it could be argued that the 9-0 record was more due to the offense than it was the defense at that point also, so...   all I can say is that I am pretty ok with him being in the desert and going to the place that NFL Coaches go to end their careers.

I’d absolutely say they lost because of the defense.

How you process information

Does one get to wear those blinky glasses that McNabb wore...😉

Having said that does the test consist of football Information or just general information?

I wouldn't really care how fast a dude can process general information but if he can quickly process football info then that matters

That 3 cone drill for a dude his size is really impressive, shows great change of direction, key for an off ball LB.

Why???

Or not even... Ki-Jana Carter's career ended before it began when he blew out his knee in the backfield, untouched, on his first or second carry in his first preseason game.   He was never the same.

Or Robert Edwards, who destroyed his knee on the sand in Hawaii in a rookie beach flag football event, and was never the same.  Bad luck on both for sure, but the RB position being a short shelf-life position in the NFL is an undeniable statistical fact.

All of Correll Buckhalters ACLs were non contact, some dudes are just snake bitten.☹️

Idk depends on who you listen to. Burglar talked about the tackles. The first 3 (Paris, jones and wright) are much better than the next tier. He also said once you get past Bergeron and jones who are his 5th and 6th tackle he thinks it’s not a good class.

Yeah, I'm assuming that we'd pick one of the 2nd tier guys which I'm okay with. I just think it's better value. It just sucks that we're (again) right at the cusp of the top talent after last year and hoping someone drops a few spots.

I would guess in general , either way 80 is the threshold , never has anyone scored less and had productive NFL career

Well... the offense didn't match the Chiefs either.  Going in to halftime with a 10 point lead... all the offense had to do was match every score the Chiefs got, and they didn't get it done either.  I put it down as a team loss, honestly.   Teams win.  Teams lose.  But, Gannon has nothing to flex about with the way the defense performed in the Super Bowl...

Tbh i think they trade up if Carter falls to 7. I just don’t see him doing so. That said i tend to think the eagles go Paris, skoronski, Wright or jones at 10 if they stay at 10. I am leaning paris and have for about a month now.

Yep. The thing that drove me crazy more than anything else was the WR starting in and then reversing back out. They did it several times and Gannon never adjusted to it. The DBs were coached to pass the receiver along. KC exposed that and Gannon was too stupid to notice it. I was done with him after that.

It's on the defense.

If you need your offense to score *every* possession, it's on the defense to get ONE stop.

Going to see Adam Sandler tonight. Anyone been?

I've never heard of it nor am I a NFL QB prospect so I'm gonna guess I probably wouldn't score any higher but if we're sayi g it's an ok score for stroud because me regular middle aged dude sitting on his couch eating chips couldn't do better that's a pretty low bar no.???

NFL GM- So Stroud we noticed you only scored an 18% on your S2 recognition test, that seems pretty low for a high level college QB, care to explain yourself

Stroud- Utebird only got a 12....

😒

If Justin Fields and Will Levis put up elite scores then I know already the test is not giving the results teams are needing, and it's not worth the time investment.  When Fields was drafted I was quite down on him based on his OSU film.  He was extremely slow to process and his film paled to Dwayne Haskins in the same system.  I've seen absolutely nothing from Fields in two years since to change my mind; the Bears simply let him use his legs whenever he wants because he had no WR talent to rely on.  Now that the Bears have acquired Moore, Claypool, etc. they will see again this coming season -- he's a slow and poor processor.

Levis is either a poor processor of information, he needs glasses because he's color blind, or his arm is crooked, because he's woefully erratic throwing the football.  People could see it at his Pro Day, which is why his stock has started to slide.

Which I did say... but the defense did get some stops in the first half, which is why the Eagles did have a lead at halftime.

The interesting thing is, there are probably no analytics when it comes to a super bowl team picking in the top 10 in a year when there is really a top 10 worthy back available.

We know, from a few years ago that an elite RB can increase a teams W/L record by 4 games. That stat was reported, and shared in here by me, I believe during the Fournette draft year. But thats bad teams picking a RB who can carry their offense. Makes a massive difference for them, but theyre not us.

We cant realistically improve by 4 games in the W column from last year by drafting a RB. But for a super bowl runner up, is there any other position that affects win shares as much to get you over the hump? Answer would be a clear no. RB can make the largest difference. Especially on a roster that currently does not have a legit 3 down RB.

We are in a rare position here to do something that there arent any stats on. Howie talked on the Kelce podcast of behing ahead of things.... this is his chance to zig.

I agree with this 100% - Everyone thinks they know what the Eagles are going to do, but this is the same team that drafted a QB in the second round after paying a massive amount to their starting QB.

Lurie and Howie keep talking about offense and how important it is. They just paid Hurts a ton of cash. They want to continue to surround him with weapons.

They also watched for years as someone like Zeke eat them alive. This is their chance to return the favor with a special player.

That is of course if Carter is already taken or they can't strike the right deal to trade up.

I don't think it's going to be that. 2025 has $17M option bonus that's not guaranteed which I find hard to believe they will give to a 32 year old corner (but they gave Slay a ton of money so who knows). I'm guessing it's going to end up being

2023: $3,062,000

2024: $4,735,000

2025: $3,525,000 (dead, post June 1st)

2026: $8,978,000 (dead)

Not a bad structure, but I still don't like the idea of pairing up 30+ year old CB's for the next two years.

I've decided I the biggest thing I want from this draft is Cody Mauch

Apparently the highest score went to Brock Purdee🤷‍♂️

Yeah sheil talked about this on their podcast. Only 7 corners over 30 years old played 500 snaps or more last year. Odds aren’t in the eagles favor. Add on maddox has missed 15 games the last 3 years. So likely corner would get decent playing time this year

Yep, and Patrick Peterson was the only one over 32. Maybe they can get away with it this year but I'm thinking a 33 year old Slay and 31 year old Bradberry is going to be a problem next year.

Such a shame what happened to Alvin. He could have been one of the all time greats. Lattimer too if they would have just let him stay on the juice.
