Right, I don't want to add any more void years and dead money to Slay's contract.  I'd rather trade him if there is any way to not get murdered with cap hits.

I’ve often wondered whether Signing Bonus dollars can be converted into Base Salary dollars. If the answer is "yes” I could see that being done in advance of a trade.

So what's the deal with Isaiah Foskey?  Seems like a few months ago he was top 10-20 in all these draft boards and now moved into 2nd round in a bunch of them.  Back to back 10+ sack seasons... Also a crazy athlete as seen here from his Sophomore season

"In his second season for the Irish, Foskey stepped up to notch 4.5 sacks and five TFLs. The 6-5, 257-pound Californian has terrific speed and length. He’s hit 20.8 MPH on the GPS and has a blazing 10-yard split of 1.58 as well as an impressive 4.65 40." - Feldman

Would take him at 30 gladly

How can supply outweigh demand?  For every one of those Free Agents there is an open roster spot on the team that the FA has left.

Easily when a new crop comes put of college every year

I don't see how that would ever be possible unless the player returns money. And I don't think the NFLPA would be ok with that.

There's not going to be anything with Mayo. He already turned down interviews and Patriots gave him a contract. He's not going to suddenly take an interview after all that.

Howie is not even trying.

No Patullo.

They also hired Tom Manning as TE coach so no lateral move for Jason Michael there.

I'd be fine signing him to a minimum-vet contract. No other team is going to give him real money

A Tartt contract redux.

Why would the player have to return money?

Do you guys still have that shite toad tunnel?

A signing bonus is money that has already been received. Spreading it over the years is purely an accounting function.  Base salary is money still be paid out during the season

Because of the rules in place in the CBA for bonuses and cap accounting.

Mahomes had one incompletion in the 2nd half. I think making it about one or two bad calls understates how terrible a game Gannon called.  0 sacks

Also how well Mahomes played and how good of a game AR called. The other team gets a say in the outcome too.

There is no demand to pay them

They have to fill the open roster slot with someone.

Bc he was paid a signing bonus

have to balance books and dont think he can run a credit. Plus taxation issues

anyone actually know if the leagues fiscal year is what they mean by new year?

He's the top candidate in Denver but they talked to Joseph for a while too

I would like the Eagles to interview Rex.

So if we tag him that's around $14 million/year?

Yea, $14,460,000 that would all count towards to 2023. I don't think Howie would want to limit himself with that.

Inside the Birds is credible but a franchise tag is really unlikely. That tells me they have no plans on bringing back Bradberry.  It does make sense because having CJGJ gives them more flexibility at safety and nickel.  Avonte has been good but he gets dinged up every year.

Carson Wentz

Vet minimum plus incentives to back up the backup.

I don’t think Howie would tag CJGJ; he’s surprisingly good at reaching agreement on a long term deal with younger talent.  If he did for some reason, I’d make it a non-exclusive tag where someone else could make him a contract offer, but it would cost two first round picks.

Not likely that would happen for a safety, but the Chickens did give up two firsts for Jamal Adams — an overrated box safety only
