Awesome!   I know he wants to get paid so I already dismissed the possibility he could be back.

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Yea, $14,460,000 that would all count towards to 2023. I don't think Howie would want to limit himself with that.

I feel this is a negotiation ploy to leak it out there to try getting CJGJ to sign before free agency.

Agreed CJGJ is really the only guy I'm sure will be back.  TJ Edwards is a probably especially if Jim Leonhard is the guy

CJGJ is a must keep, one of the top priorities for Howie to get done.

Be massive if we get CJGJ back

I would think there's order that the Eagles would want to get things done.  My guess is that re-signing CJGJ and getting an extension for Hurts are key pieces.  I would bet neither of their agents are feeling as urgent about the situation.

Started thinking about backup QB's again. Sam Darnold could be a decent option assuming he makes around $5-$6M. He has a little bit of mobility and the size to run the sneaks. Obviously not the runner Hurts is, but he might be able to spot start if Hurts has to miss some games.

I wonder if Minshew might just want to come back as a back up.  He could go somewhere like Carolina or the Colts who will likely draft a QB but I can't imagine he's going to get some long term shot as a starter.

Do we know for sure what Leonhard would do as an NFL DC? Being aggressive at Wisconsin is one thing. His style of defense in the NFL could be pretty different.

Maybe. The Saints game really soured me on him. He'd be "fine" but I'm not sure if he could actually win a game next year if he has to play unless it's a really bad team. I want a little bit more from the backup.

Minshew isn't going to be a long term starter, but he could maybe go to Arizona and play until Murray is back or be a stop gap starter/compete in Houston or something.

This is a good article on him:

Right on cue. CJGJ follows the Blog.

Probably just talking about eggs.

CJGJ deserves to get paid.

Is there a requirement to interview minority candidates for coordinator positions like HC?  Because otherwise I feel like they are passing on this Jim Leonard or he is passing on them if they interviewed him yet are still going to proceed with doing two zoom interviews with Vance Joseph on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope we get more creativity from the next DC. I’m not sure CJGJ is that good at safety, but with a creative DC he could be a great football player and worth a $14M/year deal.

Just looked up CJGJ's agent out curiosity. Same guy that negotiated Jamal Adams the at time highest paid safety. Negotiated Tredavious White at time highest paid CB (who still had 2 years left on his at the time current deal). Also got Charvarius Ward $14M APY.

Seems like he's going to be aggressive with CJGJ.

67 tackles, a sack, 9 PD's, and 6 INT's. I think he is pretty good at S and will continue to improve. Also an 11 on the 1-10 Swag Scale.

I feel like we try to get the coaching staff done then move money around, then sign hurts then cgj.

I'd add figuring out what Kelce is doing is high on priority list as well.

Doesn't he have to actually sign the tag?

So if he wants to be paid can't he just refuse it?

Yea, he could not sign it and hold out. At some point he'd almost have to sign it though unless he wants to sit out the whole year like Le'Veon Bell did which wouldn't be great advice.

Most of those interceptions were tipped passes or misfires from a QB getting hit, so not as impressive as the number would say.

I definitely think he’ll continue improving though.

So does everyone think/expect the Eagles to win the division next year to put an end to that silly trope that no NFCE team can win back to back division titles?
