Probably the most ridiculous "rumor" I heard today and there were a lot of them. I think this is all complete and total BS and Houston will still take him. I hope I am wrong though. I hope at least one of those top four QB's is there at 10 so the Eagles can trade down for a king's ransom.

I think it’s plausible. Hooker is a very good prospect, depending how you view his injury situation.

If Houston knew beyond reasonable doubt that Hooker was there at 12, they could get him and Will Anderson. That could trump Stroud and Luke Van Ness depending on their evaluation of HH

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

There's normally a surprise in the top 10-15

-2022: Lions move up from 32 to 12.
-2021: 49ers pick Lance over Mac
-2020: CJ Henderson at 9
-2019: Daniel Jones at 6, Ferrell at 4
-2018: Baker at 1, tradeups for Allen/Rosen

I think the injury is the least of teams concerns with Hooker.  Torn ACL recoveries aren't career ending anymore and it's not going to effect Hookers game at all. He's a dual threat but that dual isn't remotely even.  He's more of an 80% pocket passer, 20% rusher.  I think a lot of folks (not you, but in general) are being lazy in scouting Hooker.  He looks a certain way so he MUST be a running QB and an ACL is going to change him forever.  Hardly the case.

The real concern, if you want to call it one, is his age.  He's already nearly 25 1/2 years old.  To put that in perspective, Jalen Hurts is still 24 until August and he's going in to year 4 with a Super Bowl played.  Hooker isn't even in the league.  Let's say his rookie year is a redshirt year, learning the NFL game as he gets back to 100% health while playing minimal snaps.  That puts him at 26 in year 2, when he would be seeing the field in real situations for the first time.  Year 2 is invested in really getting a feel for the NFL.  You're then looking at year 3, 27 years old, when he's firing on all cylinders.

The perfect situation for Hooker is a team like the Texans, Titans or Vikings. Tannehill and Cousins are in the same boat.  Expensive veterans who can get some wins but aren't carrying a team any further than they already have.  Hooker can learn a lot from both QBs.

Houston should 100% be looking at Anderson with pick 2 and then be on the phone with the Eagles at 10 to jump over the Titans.

Better yet, if the Vikings truly are in the running for Hooker, and I have no idea if they are, just speculation on my end, they should be looking to jump over both Tennessee and Houston to get to 10.  The Eagles could get a haul from them jumping from 23 to 10.

The chances of that happening are probably as good as RR suggesting drafting a player to play his natural position, but it's a fun scenario to think about.

Thursday needs to get here already.  We’ve gone from 18 people definitely going in the top 10, to now pushing the ones who are top 4 prospects out of the top 10

All part of the normal cycle leading up to it. Happens every year

Howie says we wont draft this high again soon

so what can you get there thats gone later in the draft? Edge rusher and OT and qb but am ignoring qb

mayyyyyybe a corner but they better be sauce and i dont see him in this class

We just need a team of 53 players with an RAS of 10. The positions they wind up playing will take care of themselves.

Pretty good deal for GB. Cause that 2024 2nd is highly likely becoming a 1st.

I don't often wish injury on a player but ih his case I'll make an exception.

To me the CBs are the one position where there are these 2 elite players. OL, dont mind missing on Skoronski. Dont care about OT this year. Can take a developmental one. DTs and DEs will be available at the end of round 1.

If CBs are gone, Id be ok with a big move down.

If there ever was a draft to have the 10th pick, this is one of the worst.

What edge are you taking at 10?  Myles Murphy?  Isaiah Foskey is a nearly identical player and he can be had later in the 1st, maybe even early 2nd.

I'm a Van Ness guy but I never wanted him at 10.  He's been my trade down pick.

Nolan Smith is a nice player but I don't see top 10 in him at all.  Reddick was the 13th pick and he was drafted to play out of position.  He didn't hit his stride until his 3rd position change in year 4.  Smith is the same kind of player.  Is he a DE? OLB? Strictly a stand up rusher?  Too many ifs with him to use 10 on him.

I'm not using the 10th pick on any OL when that player could be siting for a few years.  I'm fine with OL at 30 but 10 needs to be an impact, game changing player.  I don't see any of the OL in that category.

None of the CB are Sauce and we probably won't see a Sauce for years to come.  IMO, as I said last night, the drop from the top guys to tier 2 CB in the draft isn't steep.  I'm fine with using a later pick on CB.

If Paris Johnson does go at 3, then I do expect Gonzalez to be there at 10.

For whatever reason I haven't seen the Eagles show any interest in Gonzalez or Witherspoon and they checked out a lot of later CBs and guys at other positions who project at 10. And I've never seen the Eagles not have a guy visit for fear of tipping other teams off

We are eagles fans. It would be the worst year to have whatever pick we have…

drafting for immediate impact is what gets teams in trouble. Its about long term building, so a guy like Smith would jive, as would a stud OT.

corner is tricky because they are scarce and its rare to find good ones beyond rd2. I like Banks but will he even make it to 30? Wasnt lito pick 26? So i can buy the case at corner since we have two starters. But injuries and fall off happen.

next year picking only late is a bad time to need a cb

Yeah...  Any combine interviews or meetings?

Not that we know of and Witherspoon did visit other teams despite his late start in the process.  Eagles had top 30 with Porter & Forbes & Banks so it's not like they aren't looking at CBs but seems like at 10 they aren't interested or are playing possum which honestly seems unlikely

The CB interest list looks to be:

  • Lance Boykin (Coastal Carolina) -- Indy Combine
  • Julius Brents (Kansas State) -- Indy Combine, Official Visit
  • Myles Brooks (Louisiana Tech) -- Indy Combine, Pro Day?
  • Emmanuel Forbes (Mississippi State) -- Official Visit
  • Kahlen Hailassie (Western Kentucky) -- Official Visit
  • Joey Porter Jr. (Penn State) -- Official Visit
  • Kelee Ringo (Georgia) -- Indy Combine (formal), Official Visit
  • Cam Smith (South Carolina) -- Indy Combine
  • Starling Thomas V (UAB) -- Pro Day
  • Garrett Williams (Syracuse) -- Indy Combine (formal)

Not sure any of those are top 10 picks. Nothing of note on Gonazalez or Witherspoon.

None of them are top 10. Porter definitely at 30 though I highly doubt he’s there. Smith, Ringo you could make the case at 30. Brents and Forbes at 62.

Yup.  Just looking at the bandings of player groups that they met with, it's clear what players that they may look in the  top 10, top 30, etc.OL and DL seem to the tipped tendencies for 10 with Robinson too. Would they really Andre Dillard mk 2 on a player like Witherspoon or Gonzalez?

I think the Packers won this trade big time. A Diva QB forcing his way out that is almost 40.. they shouldn‘t have gotten what they did.

Sure, I think that same thing more often than not when a QB is traded but I think if I was a Packers fan, I‘d be very happy with that outcome. Especially considering his ‘success‘ in the playoffs.

I think packers fans are happy with what they got back in return for him cause i think they were expecting less than what they actually got.

But my best friend is a packers fan and his family that lives in Az and some that still lives in GB. From what i gathered from him about how fans living in Gb feel, they really never wanted to trade rodgers and they wanted him to ultimately retire as a packer unlike what happened with favre. They knew it was coming cause it was obvious for months but a ton of them are more upset at the FO for allowing it to get to this point over time. Actually was told that there were fans that rather seen rodgers retire then trading him for compensation

Carter at 10 and Harrison at 30?

could see that

Breaking news: I have now rationalized every possible pick at 10 and am now able to enjoy the draft worry-free.

I don't see the Eagles trading a future 1 for anybody
