I can only be upset until they actually do it and I realize that having way more information than me,  they decided he's not that big of a character concern.

As of now,  I'm 99% against it. But that can change in the blink of an eye on draft night. I can become cautiously optimistic.

Watch the bodycam footage and decide for yourself. He was close enough to the mishap car that he went under the light pole it clipped as it fell. But he wasn’t racing?  Even if that mistake is forgivable he lied about it multiple times, fled the scene and people who were likely dying at that point, and then told every NFL team he would be fully exonerated when the facts came out. Add in the conditioning concerns and I think I’m just out. Or at least out until I’m sure he’d be gone already

Heres (what I think) is an interesting question.  Where does Derek Barnett fresh out of TN get picked in this draft?

Teens. He had really great college production, more than some of these other 1st round EDGE prospects with 32 sacks.

I'll keep beating this horse to death, but trading up for Jalen Carter would royally piss me off.

I'm the vice president of that fan club. And as a diehard UGA fan and alum, it pains me to say that. I just saw too many times where he was manhandled by good college OLs, times he was gassed midway through a game, and times where he greatly benefited from the cast of players around him and made plays on cleanup duty.

If you're the VP, I'm the President.

Player Haters Ball President GIF - Player Haters Ball ...

I'm going to throw out a take and you tell me if you agree or disagree.

Paris Johnson or Skoronski starting 4 games at RT in place of a banged up Lane Johnson for the Eagles in 2023 would be more valuable to the Eagles than Bijan Robinson starting 17 games for the Eagles.

My case: the Eagles record without Lane Johnson is pretty horrendous(some of it is contextual admittedly, but still) and the Eagles tend to have a successful running game no matter who is in their backfield.

If so, Will Anderson could fall. Word is Arizona would pass on him too.

I thought they liked Wilson over Anderson.  If Wilson is off the board, do they pass on Anderson, take Carter or trade down?

What’s more likely? The Eagles trading 10 for a player similar to the AJ brown deal, or them trading so far down they pick up a 2nd 2024 1st rounder?

I feel the draft isn’t very top heavy in any position, but does have some good depth at many. They have a 3-4 year window to swing for the fences, so would they invest in the draft this year with so few picks or utilize their high draft position to pickup even more for next year or a pro bowl level player?

I can’t think of anyone available who’s worth a top 10 pick + affordable contract extension.

I could understand them targeting like Winfield Jr or Budda Baker, but unlikely for 10 overall

Anyone else here this about Darnell Washington?

If the Eagles have teams thinking they want Jalen Carter, they probably are not trading up for him but someone else.

As a rookie, disagree.  Bijan Robinson would hit the ground running (so to speak) while Johnson or Skoronski would likely struggle quite a bit.

In Year 2 and beyond, perhaps I'd agree.

If they believe there's no reason to be concerned with him off of the field, I would be comfortable with the pick.  I don't like trading up for him but I like taking him over Skoronski, Van Ness, or Murphy.  I like the idea staying put and drafting Smith but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.  I also wonder if the real plan is to draft Johnson ahead of the Bears at 9.

What's even more interesting.  Derek Barnett is 26 going on 27 in June.  Hendon Hooker just turned 25 in January.

It wouldn't surprise me entirely if this is true.  What would be funnier is if it's true that Levis is telling people he's going number 1 over all and he doesn't get drafted until the 2nd round.

Will Anderson you are an Eagle!

I’m surprisingly growing more OK with the thought of Bijan at 10 but still think getting younger and more athletic on defense is the bigger necessity

Tyree Wilson is 6-6 275.  He's the kind of player that will never come off the field and will fit in multiple defenses.  Will Anderson, for as good as he is, needs to be in the proper scheme to be used the right way.   He's never going to be a 4-3 OLB or DE.  Provided Wilson is healthy, he's going to be a problem in the NFL.  He's a JPP kind of player.

Carter worries me.  The behaviors do not sit well as a high character player who will give his best efforts on and off the field.  Using a high pick at #10 on him would seem a mistake.

I was interested in Wilson until I heard he already has had two lisfranc injuries.

He’s a beast. I think they like their RB room tbh. Cheap, rotational guys. I just don’t want OL at 10 and I’ll be fine. Even if they pop off and take Meyers or J S-N I’ll be ok.

This is the right take.  I mean look at this team's offensive performances without Lane.  It's not the RB that drives this offense.  It's the o-line.

The RB room is nothing to be excited about.  28 year old Boston Scott and soon to be 28 year old Rashaad Penny, who's miss 40 of 82 games are here on 1-year deals.  Even if they have good seasons, are the Eagles going to bring them back when they're 29?

Gainwell is a nice rotational piece, but he's never going to carry the load, nor should he be expected to.

Being in the position to add a generational back like Robinson should have them drooling.

Meyers the TE? No way. That’d be a horrible pick unless you’re trading Goedert

He could absolutely be a 4-3 DE lol what? A lot of his tape is uninspiring however. He’s an impact player in certain moments, but over pursues and gets swallowed up a lot.

Yeah that’s why i wouldn’t take him top 5. In a weak draft class i might consider 10 but it’s still a big concern

That doesn’t mean invest In the first round to back him up. There are plenty of OL who can be much better backups to what we had last year. A good HB can also take pressure off of OL/Passing game as well. I think going OL at 10 would be a WILD given our current roster.
