We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

yeah, trading out of the 1st round, even if just 7 slots should warrant more than a 3rd round pick.  The value of the 5th year option is worth more IMO.

Especially if they’re going to light a 2nd rounder on fire by taking a way too small RB in Achane and then follow that up with torching the 3rd rounder with the undersized DE Herbig…

I have Richardson as a top 5 player in this class. As a team, we value backup QB more than any other team. We spend more on backup QB than RB (Bijan), any LB, some guards (Skoronski), etc.

The other issue is that I don't trust this coaching staff to run Hurts less. He's going to get hurt. Richardson playing 2-3 games a year is going to produce a higher WAR than an starting caliber CB or EDGE unless that player is a Pro Bowler, which in this class is unlikely.

Finally, Richardson is such a raw prospect that his value will go up with time as long as he shows anything in pre-season.

Oh wow.

I also considered Howie liking the idea of grabbing Richardson.  It's entirely his MO.  He is the QB factory after all.

But he just can't do it at 10.  If he fell to 30 it would not shock me, but he won't fall.

Yeah... maybe if Richardson was in round 5 where he belongs.

Not sure their o-line is just average - it's probably better than that.  But it's more of a pure RB job there with Goff.  He will miss the lanes he saw due to Hurts

Goff? You mean Bryce Young? Miles went to Carolina

I'm only saying that it wouldn't shock me to see Howie tempted with the idea - not what I would want

I’m really not a fan of going RB at 10. But these guys mocked it to where TB traded up with us to get Will Levis, and Bijan is still on the board at 19. That’s something I can get behind

Yeah I know - someone already corrected me.  I just glanced at the photo and saw lightish blue and my brain went to Detroit - which is why I was surprised you called their line average.  My bad

DTR

Interesting how Carter points out Dean, not Davis as the leader he looks up to. Maybe it was Dean who was keeping him in line after all.

Not buying it.

I'm pretty sure he's going to DET at #6, regardless.

Dean was the leader of that defense.

Yes but that one Schefter quote made it seem like JD was babysitting him:

"When you talk to people around that Georgia program, they say that one guy - maybe *the* one guy - that kept Jalen Carter really in line was Jordan Davis. When he was around Jordan Davis, he was on some of his best behavior. Philly would have that advantage, bringing [Carter] to Philly and having Jordan Davis as a guy that could help out there."

Yea, I know but also not surprised to hear Deans name.  Either way, I want Dean and Davis focusing on being key cogs to the defense, not babysitters of a man.

If you think Richardson is a round 5 player, you need to take lots of film classes.

Agreed. Once Graham & Cox leave next year who is the leader? Slay? We have a leadership turnover issue coming that wouldn't mesh well with a prospect like Carter.

Cringe

OK debate time.  Should EVERY adult who catches a foul ball or homerun give it to a kid?

I'm a hard no.  Agree that it can be a dbag move to wrestle a kid for a ball, but if you catch one and want to keep it for yourself, or maybe your own kids/grandkids/niece or nephew then keep that ball.

Everyone in the Georgia program will tell you that Nakobe Dean was the alpha of that unit.

IMO the only way we take Richardson is if we knew someone coveted him and we can trade him for a massive haul after 1-2 years when teams lose out on the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. It’s an extreme scenario, but the only one that makes any sense.

Let's ride
