IMO the only way we take Richardson is if we knew someone coveted him and we can trade him for a massive haul after 1-2 years when teams lose out on the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. It’s an extreme scenario, but the only one that makes any sense.

This isn’t even up for discussion lol

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

Does that include DT or just edge?

Pretty loose association with the word "confirmed".

Of course Howie has made calls to teams about the price of a trade up -- he wouldn't be doing his job otherwise.  I'm sure he's also fielded calls related to value around trading back as well.  NFL teams only get 10 minutes on the clock to select a player; if a GM hasn't spoken to other teams and laid some groundwork beforehand, those minutes pass by really quickly.

Richardson lol. No. What assets are we using to trade up?  We want to sign the qb deal and come out of the draft with three guys?

Are we thinking this is a pre-draft trade?  If they want a pass rusher, that to me sounds like Wilson or Anderson.  I wouldn't describe Carter as a pass rusher.  Anderson fits everything the Eagles value in a player on and off the field so I could see them being in love with him.

I have Richardson as a top 5 player in this class. As a team, we value backup QB more than any other team. We spend more on backup QB than RB (Bijan), any LB, some guards (Skoronski), etc.

The other issue is that I don't trust this coaching staff to run Hurts less. He's going to get hurt. Richardson playing 2-3 games a year is going to produce a higher WAR than an starting caliber CB or EDGE unless that player is a Pro Bowler, which in this class is unlikely.

Finally, Richardson is such a raw prospect that his value will go up with time as long as he shows anything in pre-season.

I made this point a few months back, and mostly agree even with the Hurts contract.

I think that realistically the Eagles would trade down if he were available, but Richardson’s upside and positional value make it likely that even as a backup he’d improve our wins more than most players.

How would people feel about taking whomever at 10 and flipping a pick from next year along with 30 for Bijan if he falls?

Just curious.

Agreed.

IMO, the value is trading up for Anderson or trading down for whoever wants to come up for a QB.

It's confirmed.  Howie is trading up for everybody.

How are the Eagles supposed to take Anderson, Carter, Johnson and Robinson? I think I'm officially confused and maybe need to step away from all things draft until tomorrow night.

Howie's gonna go all the way up for Will Anderson isn't he.

You know Howie is going to want to flex on people getting the best player in the draft with the 10th pick that isn't even his own pick coming off a SB appearance.

He should if it's possible. There's a real chance Anderson is there at 6.

Young-Wilson-Johnson-Levis-Carter->???

Don't think there's any chance in hell Seattle takes Carter over Anderson. Gonna have to move up to 3 or 5 with Seattle.

Obviously he will use a Quez and K'von Wallace trades to make this happen

ESPN and other media have done a great job of sewing doubt and throwing a huge amount of conjecture around heading into this draft.  The draft leadup and telecast is a money machine now, and the more drama there is going into it, the more viewership (and money) it generates.  If folks know who is getting picked and where, then viewership goes down and money is lost.

I'm still a dinosaur and I'm sticking stubbornly -- STUBBORNLY -- to my top 10 predictions:

1.  Stroud (Panthers)

2.  Young (Texans)

3.  Anderson (Cards)

4.  Levis (Colts)

5.  Wilson (SEA)

6.  Carter  (Lions)

7.  Gonzalez (Raiders)

8.  Witherspoon (or Bijan) Falcons

9.  Paris Johnson Jr. (or Skoronski)  Bears

10.  Nolan Smith (Eagles)

I think trades could start at #7, and hopefully some movement options for Howie at #10.

There’s so much smoke and when it clears it will be the Eagles on the clock picking Anderson. Book it.

IMO, there are 2 unique players in this draft.  Anderson and Robinson.  I talked a lot about Anderson yesterday and how he has to be in the right scheme and not just a 4-3 DE.  The Eagles seem to have that scheme.  Anderson is really everything the Eagles covet in a player and if they can get him, I'm sure Howie would find a way.  I mean honestly, the Eagles have the benefit of 2 1st round picks and we've been spoiled in trying to figure out which players to get as well as complaining that there are no clear cut players at 10.

10 is worth 1300, 30 is worth 620.  Pick 4 is worth 1700.  If the Cardinals do go Paris Johnson, that makes me think Anderson is sitting there at 4.

Is it possible for the Eagles to trade 10 and 30 for pick 4 and 49?

I am sure Howie has called every team but the Panthers about what they are looking for to trade up and it likely means that they would consider it depending on who is available.  It probably also serves as a way to find out who other teams may be targeting.

Colts aren’t trading back barring an absolute shock. They are going to take a QB there.

I think Lamar could be that absolute shock, only team linked to him

Paris Johnson was the guy i really liked for a while i completely understand if stoutland loves the kids size, length and athleticism. Plus he has positional versatility. He makes a lot of sense but i just don’t think he makes it to 10 and not sure they move up to get him
