NFC path to the SB is waaaaaaaaay easier.  And the best offensive line in the game (by a wide margin) and a legit MVP-caliber quarterback.

Winning isn't as important to some people as money, and the same contract in Miami with no state tax and better weather is way more appealing

We took out more trash this weekend. Publicly harassing VA (who saved the EMB and is trying to focus on the technology, marketing & ad revenue) will not be tolerated. Taking a fun football me

So I watched the John Clark thing and he interviewed Christian Gonzalez and it does sound like he visited the Eagles.  That hadn't been reported.

He signed a contract that guaranteed him $28.1 million, and he hasn't ever won anything in Minnesota.

What makes you think Miami would want him?  They're loading up on speed players everywhere.

I'm really liking the idea of trading down from 10 (if there's a team willing to) and then some sort of trade including pick 30 and Chase Young.

Chase Young had a major injury and is still going to commandeer a big contract. I don’t know how excited I would be about that.

There are a lot of Zoom meetings that go unreported.

I think the Eagles select a player at #10 and trade down from 30.  The motivation to trade back from #10 is either:

A)  There are 4-5 players available you grade evenly, where you're comfortable to trade back a few spots and still land a player you covet.  Highly unlikely at 10

B)  There is no one left on the board you had a top 10-12 grade on, so trading out makes the most sense to recoup extra picks.  I think there will be 1-2 guys at #10

C)  There is a trade-up offer too good to pass up.  I don't think anyone is trading up a long way for either Levis or Richardson, especially with Hooker available.

A trade down from #30 makes more sense to me, as option A is much more likely in that spot and there will be a team (or teams) wanting to get back into the first round for the fifth year option on a prospect.

Eagles are in an interesting position in that of the next ten teams drafting potentially all except Pittsburgh and possibly the Jets may be in the market for a QB and the Titans at #11 sure look like they are headed in that direction so there may be a desire to jump them. Heck, if Houston is smart they target 12 towards a QB not 2.  Does Green Bay love Love? New England? WTF? Tampa?  Do the Jets, Seattle, Detroit want to move towards who is next in line.  Even 22 and 23 (Ravens and Vikings) might come into play.  I still favor making the pick at 10 (depending on who is there but there are options and if only two QBs go before 10, C may come into play. Seven  nonQBs pretty much wipes the players I would favor at 10.

Yea athletes just stop caring about money when they have it. And they have a need at RB just like we do.

By this time tomorrow, a team has likely made a catastrophic mistake with Will Levis.

And athletes care nothing about playing on teams that have a legit shot at winning a Super Bowl.  Budda Baker says hello

Miami wants speed.  As much speed as they can get.  They've been loading up on it for two seasons now.  Hence why there's smoke about them interested in Jahmyr Gibbs who runs in the 4.3's: https://dolphinnation.com/2023/04/24/report-mike-mcdaniel-would-love-for-miami-dolphins-to-trade-up-and-select-jahmyr-gibbs/

I like it a lot. Though at 30 I'd steal Wright and put him right at RG. I love Gibbs but give me the mauler with inside outside flexibility. Get me Bigsby maybe round 3.

I think there is a huge misdirect on Bijan. Everyone is caught up with when he will be drafted and are all assuming he is the next Walter Payton.

He could be the next Najee Harris or CEH. He could be the next Ki-Jana Carter or Trent Richardson if picked at 8,10, or 24. All draft picks are a gamble.

Ricky Williams was a can't miss RB from Texas and he had 2 seasons in his entire career worthy of his draft spot and neither for the team that drafted him.

The amount of dudes who take less money to chase rings is way smaller than the dudes who cash out. Look at miles sanders for christ sake. Literally was just in the super bowl and would rather play for the panthers. Definitely championship bound

So 3 of the most connected draft people including 2 on our local beat have us taking Nolan Smith.

In Jeremiah's mock, he says the Raiders could go OL but take Gonzalez. I like a trade up with LV to get Gonzalez, and they can get Paris at 10.

That would be a great 1st round.  Add some juice to both sidea of the ball.  Pick up CB and OL later.

Nolan Smith at 10 is Mamula 2.0 IMO

Mamula was not a bad 28th overall pick but he was not worth #7.

Its also weird that Mamula won 2 playoff games here including on the AR pickle juice team in 2000. He has such a cloud over him when he was just an OK player.

Same can be said for any player in the draft to be honest.

Which do you think is more likely:

A) Miles Sanders left because he didn't want to play here
B) Miles Sanders left because we didn't want to pay him and would rather sign Penny for peanuts

80% of QBs drafted in the first round since 2000 didn’t play on a second contract with the team that drafted them.  Might as well take a swing at one if you need one, for cheap.

The team that drafts Bryce Young is the one that is S.O.L

The Eagles won't be signing Dalvin Cook if he's available.  They have him in Rashaad Penny already.

You think the eagles wouldn't have given him the same contract? But if miles wanted to win so badly why not take the same contract?

No.  The Eagles wouldn't have given him the same contract because if they wanted to, they could have and they would have.  They did not want him back.

Do you really think if the Eagles offered him the exact same contract as the Panthers, he would've gone to Carolina anyway?

Are you sure? Sounds like he's a lock to come here

Depends on price. They wouldn’t pay much for him. They don’t pay RBs

You don't think the eagles would have signed sanders to the same contract as penny???? Are you serious? You think the eagles PREFER an oft injured (more often than sanders) running back from another team over the guy who already knows the system and plays well in it?

If you think the eagles offered nothing at all you're just being ignorant.
