If Carter gets past Seattle I think Howie gets him. Pauline said Seattle took him off their board and Josh Norris mocked him to Seattle but said one source told him they'd take him but another source told him he's unequivocally off their board.

If Seattle doesn't take him wonder where they go. QB or Wilson possibly. Or could trade out to a team that wants a QB.

But if Howie wants him that bad I think he's planning contingencies. McLane said the Eagles rated Carter as the best player in the draft.

I think Detrioit is the favorite to draft him.  One reason to move up to 7 is to keep another team from moving ahead of them and it might be too costly to move up beyond that point.

Damn - didn't realize he used to date Mr. Ed

Kind of think the lions go Witherspoon at 6. His style of play fits Dan Campbell and the attitude the lions want to play with. More importantly they could use long term help at CB. they signed some guys and have some guys but none are locks to be there long term. I also think Peter Schrager said he’s been hearing Witherspoon there for a while.

Young hasn't been productive since his rookie season but I think most of that has been due to injury. He seems like a perfect trade candidate for Howie.  You get him in year 4 and can re-sign him or move on from him and likely get a comp pick.  I think they might get rid of him for less than a 1st.

Here's my hot take: Jaxon Smith-Njigba would improve the offense much more than Bijan Robinson.

Bijan would get way more touches than JSN ever would in our offense.  It also doesn't create a potentially toxic dynamic of taking targets away from AJ, DeVonta and Goedert.

Man if we could steal a healthy Chase Young.

They wouldn't trade Young within the division.

Njigba.

Great route runner. Plays inside and outside. Hands. Decent size,  6'2". Just lacking elite speed.

The lateral quickness by Njigba is what makes him elite.  He's not running Fly Routes every play..

For comparison

JSN 3 cone - 6.57
JSN 20 yard shuttle - 3.93

Edelman

3 Cone - 6.62
20 yard shuttle - 3.92

Tyreek Hill -

3 Cone - 6.53
20 yard shuttle 4.06

All this at 6 foot 1 and just under 200 pounds

If Hurts is able to get the ball out quicker then the line holds up better and he takes less hits also.

Not sure Washington is willing to trade him or sweat inside the division. I guess if it’s the best offer but i think if the offers were close they’d probably go with trading him outside of the division. But if he ever got himself back to where he was or if they got sweat that’s an excellent pick up

Does a healthy Chase Young exist?

I mean people don't go to NC State for the hot chicks.

There’s probably a marvel timeline where it does.

Why not? They don't want to exercise a 5th year option on him.  He could just as easily sign somewhere else within the division next season.

So a guy who gets less touches would make it toxic for AJ and Smith than a player who would get way more touches in Bijan?

He had an ACL tear which should be a permanently limiting injury.  It wouldn't matter that much if they didn't have to over pay for him.

So if teams who usually don't care about character like Raiders or Seahawks are taking Carter off their board why wouldn't Howie who doesn't usually take those types?

I think the risk of trading him for less than ideal compensation to a division rival and he hits big is more worrisome than if he leaves next year and goes to the Eagles. I look at it this way if he leaves in FA and goes to the Eagles next year it means he likely wasn’t as productive as they’d like this upcoming year or he got hurt again. Because if he is super productive and really good for Washington in 2023 then they’re just gonna franchise him. And he’s not gonna be able to leave the building.

Don’t get me wrong I think Washington would trade him to Philadelphia. But if the compensation between the Eagles and another team is close, I think they would prefer to not deal him here. Might take slightly less compensation to traded him outside of the division then have to see him flourish here

Having a running back run the ball versus passing to an extra target I think is the difference.

The touches are there for Bijan or any RB with Sanders gone. The touches aren't there for a high volume slot with no WR gone from last year.

Makes me very nervous to hear strong speculation that many teams have pulled Jalen carter off their draft boards entirely. If he falls to where we’d take him it means 3-5 teams pulled him. I hope howie isn’t putting too much faith in the power of that locker room or a couple of teammates to straighten him out.

He has Jordan Davis and Nkobe Dean who have insight on the kid.

Cox, Graham, Kelce, Hurts are amazing leaders as well.

Sometimes these kids need structure and mentors to help them mature.

No one has them off of their board entirely. That’s ridiculous.

Carter is on my board in the 2nd round.  I wouldn't take him at 10 or 30, though.
