I can see the colts taking Richardson and Ballard expecting Steichen run an offense like hurts does.

Rpo offense with Richardson being able to grow with his arm and Taylor as the running back would be hard to defend and make it easier on Taylor.

Kinda funny how you have to include the commercial for younger folks for a movie reference that came out over 30 years ago

(damn I'm getting old)

That was 30 years ago?!    I'm getting old too.

30 [for Carter] would be insane value. Can’t be worse than Marcus Smith, Reagor, or Danny Watkins.

The problem with drafting Carter is not merely the character/maturity issue -- it seems like there is a legitimate chance this guy goes to jail.  That is not a good look for a team.

Got it. Running backs are irrelevant to the running game. Hot take ladies and gents. And it’s JSN.

I am not saying the Eagles should draft JSN.  I am just saying JSN would be of more value to the Eagles than Bijan and a better use of resources in the first round.

Want to feel really old. Willis mcgahee’s kid just committed as a linebacker at Nebraska for the 2024 season.

For two misdemeanors? I don't think so.

If Houston doesn't go QB at 2 any chance they move up from 12 to 10 if Richardson, etc. falls.. Maybe do 10 and 62 for 12 and 33

All i know is if titans miss out on a Qb this year, I’d be tanking to get Caleb Williams or Maye.  screw being 7-8 win team with tannehill, Henry and getting stuck in purgatory. They’ll never do it but thwres a strong chance they are gonna wind up being stuck in purgatory if they can’t trade up for one of the QBs or don’t take hooker.

Me thinks all the smoke about Robinson is just that, smoke.  P. Johnson would be an option but he goes before #10.  Carter has his off the field issues and also goes earlier.

I think the two realistic options are trading down OR taking Skoronski as a long term RG perennial pro bowl level dude.

OK, just looked more into it -- I guess he has pled out already and has just probation, so your point is taken.  I would not be surprised to see him entangled in civil suits though, and I hope to heck he does not violate the probation.

Got a text from schmoopie a little while ago:

"The draft is tonight, can you do me a favor and take wings out of the freezer?"

Who is Brett Tessler?

NFL agent. Seems like mostly low tier guys. Greg Joseph and Raheem Mostert are the most recognizable. And former all time Eagles great Josh Andrews.

Meh, I'll keep an open mind.  But, I'm not going to judge trust their evaluation.

Just saying that they have much more information on all these prospects and knowledge of how they project than most of the general public.  They have been watching them for years, investigating their backgrounds and watching all of their film (not just highlights).

That being said, I still think it would be a tough sale to me that Carter is worth the risk, especially with a trade up.

Predictions.

My wildest guess at a big move for the eagles tonight is trading up with the Raiders to select Christian Gonzalez.

The trade up spot makes sense for both teams. And Gonzalez fits a need, is young, has prototype length and athleticism for the position. Hes the guy to move up for (even over Witherspoon).

I could see them going up for one of Anderson or Tyree Wilson too, but I think the CB is likely more attainable. So my guess.

If they stay put, its most likely Nolan Smith. Paris Johnson in contention, but he would have to still be there which is doubtful.

Ill zigged when everyone zagged in the Master of the Draft thread on the bonus prediction. Everyone has them trading down from 30. I say, theyll use a next year pick to move UP from 30. I think theyll want to beat Miami to the punch and draft Gibbs. They considered Dalvin Cook in round 1 years ago. Gibbs is another one in that mold of explosive RBs. Eagles will like him. If hes not there, I can see them moving up to target a pass rusher like Van Ness if he is available in the 20s, as he should be.

Based on what? Breaking probation? He plead no contest and got probation and community service.

If you are lucky you may even remember some of what you did.

IMO, not for those, but the sense that he is a big mistake waiting to happen based on past transgressions. And by past transgressions, I dont even mean those crimes themselves, but the details/behavior surrounding them is whats more worrisome to me.

I have less of a problem with the racing, and more of an issue with lack of human decency and remorse over the aftermath.

Don't agree. Bijan's would be a heavy contributor in the passing game and not just on screens. Wheel routes, which we hardly ran last year but which used to be a big part of our repertoire, will be back in. Bijan can drop into the slot as well and how many LBs are there in the league that could cover him? A huge improvement over Sanders.

That's not including the greater threat he presents in the run game than any RB we have. Again, a big improvement over Sanders, not only as a runner but as the R in RPOs.

I don't doubt that Bijan would be better than Sanders. I don't know if he is going to be better than Penny.  Also, my point remains that the margin and value of JSN at 10 is better than the margin and value of Bijan Robinson at any point in the first.

Not unless he does something else. He got one year probation for the racing incident.

Sure.  And they still have their hits and their misses.

As far as Carter goes... there are red flags.  He'd be in a 'prove it' mode for me.

Memory is a really strange thing.

I was thinking last night about my elementary and junior high school days.  My classes were usually between 25-30 students, and when thinking back I am able to remember more than half of my classmates names (and faces to some extent) from when I was 12-13 years old.  Considering it was more than 40 years ago I think that's pretty good.

On the flip side, when trying the same with my college classmates I remember very few, even though it wasn't as long ago -- and, no, I wasn't a huge boozer or drug addict in my college years  🙂

How many Howie's ?

I see Penny as a complete crapshoot. Getting anything at all would be a big plus. I see spending a high draft pick on a third WR as a misallocation of resources.

Every interview this offseason he looks drunk, hungover, stoned, taking edibles, something.  Imagine if they win a Super Bowl he's gonna go on quite a bender.
