If a person can't admit at this point that Hurts is a top QB in this league, I assume they are either

A) Trolling

B) Too proud to admit they were wrong

C) Knuckle dragging mouth breathing dumb

There are no other options

The only problem with that is that the number of Comp Picks in a year is capped at four.

if you extend hargrave, graham and CJGJ and then Edwards, bradberry, seumalo and sanders leave those are likely the four best compensatory picks we were gonna get. Epps and Cox would’ve gotten them but I’m guessing not as high as those 4.

No I Dont Think GIF - No I Dont Think I Will GIFs

You could make an argument for Burrow but Allen is dancing on the line of being overhyped

Again, from 1-32 where do you rank him then? Not trying to be radical, I in fact was NOT a Hurts proponent before this year.

Hurts was definitely a top 5 QB this past season. He was a key piece of the best Eagles' offense of all-time.  The problem he has is that he his running ability drives offensive success.  His running ability will diminish at a more rapid rate than his passing ability.  If he is not the same threat running the ball 3 seasons from now, is he a top 10 type QB even assuming he is able to continue to be a productive passer at his current level.

There is no way around it, it’s either

1. Mahomes

2. Burrow

3. Hurts

or

1. Mahomes

2. Hurts

3. Burrow

The Allen stuff is now obsolete and spare me Herbert

I'd say he's underrated among Philly fans.

At the end of 2021 people had him up there with Mahomes.

At the end of 2022 he had 124 less yards passing, 1 less TD, 1 less INT, 1 more rushing TD, had more fumbles but only lost 2 more than 2021. He also played 1 less game in 2022. His passer rating and QBR both went up in 2022.  And all of a sudden now he sucks, is "obsolete", not a top 5, wouldn't be able to lead the 2022 Eagles to a SB, etc etc.

He had bone head plays especially in the RZ and people are laser focused on that. He's still a very good QB.

Would have to sit down and have a think but not top 5.

I’d have burrow ahead only cause that offensive line is bad and he still has gotten to a SB and 2 afc title games with it. But i also think mahomes and burrow are the two best QBs in the league

Yep. My concern is how well does his game age? He’s worth a big contract now, but what will his game look like three or four years from now when he isn’t a running threat that dictates how he is defended?

There are a few different components to a Hurts extension:

-- How many years?  Murray, Watson, and Wilson got 5 years, Josh Allen is a 6-year.  Mahomes, of course, was a different deal altogether at 10 years

-- How much guaranteed?  Wilson was $161M out of $242M total, Murray was an absurd $189.5M guaranteed out of $230.5M total, Josh Allen is $150M out of $258M total, Mahomes was actually only $141.5M guaranteed

-- Would you front-load the deal (knowing there is an increased possibility Hurts could have durability concerns in 3-4 years) so that there is an escape in 3 years with minimized impact to the cap if Hurts starts missing extended time -- like Lamar?

If 2 guys on opposite sides of the ball of equal grades are sitting at 10, I'm picking the offensive guy (WR or OL). Enabling Hurts to play at his absolute best as his run % decreases over the years is priority #1, and the Eagles must maintain their advantage on the OL.

I'm not going into this off-season trying to fill every hole on defense with a stud. It's borderline impossible; last year's D was ridiculously stacked. We need a DC who doesn't need an all star team to be successful.

For sure frontload the Hurts deal

His style of play will wear him down quicker than other franchise QBs

Eagles will have a 3-4 year window coming up with Hurts/Brown/Smith nucleus

If it's gonna happen....

Why WR?

I think Allen ends up getting injured more often than Hurts

I wonder if Schwartz is going to attempt to poach some of our FA's to bring back to his defense in Cleveland. Cox and Graham being the obvious two. Hargrave, Edwards, Suh and Epps all have played for him as well.

Be my guest.  Hargrave is the only one I would even wave to.

Allen played terribly in the playoffs.  He choked away the game against the Bengals.  If Hurts had played like him, I think a fair amount of the blog would want to move on from him at QB.  Burrow is a top tier QB.  He will keep Cincy as a contender.  I think the other overhyped QB may be Herbert at this point.  I would consider putting Lawrence ahead of him because I think Lawrence is going to have a continued upswing under Doug.

He’s going to focus on Jalen Mills, Corey Graham and Nate Gerry.

Did Kelce give any idea what his time frame was on his decision about retirement?  Be cool if him and his brother retired the same year and go into the HOF together
