My post doesn't have anything to do with whose better. It originated with someone calling Allen overrated.

I wasn’t trying to say it was. Just using your post to make a different point speaking in general

I’d have burrow ahead only cause that offensive line is bad and he still has gotten to a SB and 2 afc title games with it. But i also think mahomes and burrow are the two best QBs in the league

I agree

Allen is a really talented QB. He struggled with decision making late in the season. So, compared to how he was earlier in the season, sure, he’s overrated compared to that maybe. But he’s proven he can play at the highest level. He’s definitely top 5, so it’s hard to say he’s but so overrated in the general sense of the word.

I think Herbert with a real coach is going to be incredible. The dude's talent is flat out off the charts.

Cripes, ok, what makes you confident in Elliss at the Will?

Not confident  … intrigued.  We have to stretch the money somewhere.

It’s amazing what Doug has done with Lawrence in such a short time. Herbert is more talented, probably. It’ll be interesting to watch

If a person can't admit at this point that Hurts is a top QB in this league, I assume they are either

A) Trolling

B) Too proud to admit they were wrong

C) Knuckle dragging mouth breathing dumb

There are no other options

D) Believe Hurts will eventually get injured because all RBs eventually do get injured.

D) None of the above

if you extend hargrave, graham and CJGJ and then Edwards, bradberry, seumalo and sanders leave those are likely the four best compensatory picks we were gonna get. Epps and Cox would’ve gotten them but I’m guessing not as high as those 4.

The NFL can and does combine signings and give a higher Comp Pick.  You are not simply stuck with your top 4.

All kidding aside, the Eagles do have a need for a RB who is adept at getting the tough yards without having their $47-50M per year QB doing it.

I’m done trying to pre-judge coaches and coordinators. I just don’t know enough about any candidate to have an opinion. I didn’t Sirianni or Steichen would be any good and was wrong. Gannon seemed to coach scared and that turned out to be true. I’ll be fine with whoever until they suck. I’m way more curious about the plan with defensive personnel. Talent will take a hit, clearly. But in what areas? I’m curious if they stick to a DC with a similar scheme or try something different. Their attempt to keep Gannon was curious.

All of this. It’s fun to discuss but we don’t know S.

I want to get someone like Blount again. Just get the ball and run without trying to juke defenders

The likelihood the eagles have multiple significant signings in free agency is less likely than years past due to hurts extension upcoming and where they are cap wise. So it’s more likely with your best players that are also being some of the best free agents you are banking on their comp picks over lesser guys and unlikely to make multiple significant signings. It’s pretty likely bradberry, hargrave, seumalo and Edwards you are getting the comp picks for at least 3 of the 4 of those guys as you are likely only having one significant signing in FA. Add on I’m guessing the eagles are active in the guys who are cut that don’t get put into the comp pick equation. Like bradberry last year.

i think the eagles one somewhat major target player in free agency and then let the market play itself out and try to get some bargains later in FA that wouldn’t hurt their comp picks. I also think they’ll look at guys who are waived/cut to add as well like bradberry.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Hurts is a top 5 QB? I'm curious.

Clearly no. Just go back a page or 2 and some have said he's not

We’re hiring Kirby Smart as DC!

I think he is right now. However that’s subject to change next year depending on how he follows up in 2023 and how some other guys are in 2023 like Allen, Lawrence, herbert and some others. I hope hurts plays like an mvp next year. However if he regressed a little like josh Allen in 2022 and Lawrence takes a massive step up (jags are a legit contender) and Allen plays like he did in 2020 again then you could see those two move back ahead of him.

The discussion is largely academic because it's based so heavily on what the QB has around them.

Is Hurts a top 5 QB when grading the Eagles offense as a whole?  Probably.

Would Hurts be a top 5 QB if he was playing for the Steelers, Lions, or Seahawks for example?  Probably not

Why would you judge it based on anything other than the player himself? You have to be able to remove a player's situation from the evaluation. I don't think that's that difficult.

Unless it’s Urban Meyer.

Okay.  What type of career do you think Tom Brady would have had if he'd spent 23 years with the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars?  The situation is everything.

Of course it is... but that doesn't define the player. A player in a good situation doesn't mean the player is automatically good. A player in a bad situation doesn't mean the player is bad.

You probably got Chris Simms on your side

The Seahawks’ sixth OL is getting between $4-5M. Seumalo is about to get paid.
