watched DC's (animated) justice league - crisis on infinite earth's part three. as with the first two, this was excellent.

it baffles me how dc can get it so right with their animated series, and yet fall short so many times in the live action genre.

The final Superman Trailer is up (look it up yourself, I'm on a call 😆). I am curious to see how the film turns out as the trailers have improved since the first teaser.

The real question is. How much will James Gunn's brother appear?

I'm reading a lot of good things about the new Superman movie. My son really wants to see it so going to check it out sometime.

I saw it. It was actually pretty good.

Not as James Gunn-y as I thought it would be. Gets right into it without any of the Krypton set up stuff.

Hawk Girl, GL, and Mr. Terrific were kind of obviously a set up for a bigger universe. Lots of them in the movie.

Not much in the way of character development.

All around a good flick. Tons better than what Snyder was doing.

They had to make his "parents” as dopey as imaginable to try influencing emotion in place of character development roll

More from him

James Gunn has publicly stated that Batman presents a "biggest issue" for him within the DC Universe. He clarified that while he's not writing the Batman movie himself, he's working with the writer to ensure Batman's place in the DCU feels necessary and fresh, not just a repeat of what's come before or a campy version. Gunn also mentioned that Batman needs a reason to exist within the broader DC narrative, and it can't be solely based on his popularity.

Gunn just gets it, im excited to see what he soes with Batman.

Superman

I’m biased as hell because I’m a Superman fan but I thought it was great

They mixed in the humor and seriousness in an excellent manner

Mr Terrific had a lot of great lines. Same with Guy. The few lines Hawkgirl had were good too

Kyrpto was hilarious and there were so many "awww” moments. If you’re a dog lover than you’ll love those

They showed his speed when he raced to the fortress. I don’t think they showed his power though

Jimmy and Lex’s girl (I can’t remember her name) were hilarious. She was displayed through as a bimbo but she was crafty with those selfies

Interesting that they brought Cat in. Curious if the love triangle happens

I like that they displayed healing internal injuries from the sun was still painful

I think his surrounding should have been on fire during re-entry to earths atmosphere though. Also think that impact should have been bigger

Thought Lex was great. Showed his intelligence and how he can’t stand Superman because he’s this godlike being that everyone adores and so he tries to get them to hate him

I’ve always been of the opinion that Batman works better as it’s own universe.

Even in quality team ups, they kinda just deus ex machina his detective skills without actually showing how he did what he did. In order for it to work he needs to be the a-hole that the league reluctantly needs, and I’m not sure that’s the brave and the bold Batman they’re going to be going for.

It was okay. To me, it didn't feel like a big-tent movie, but rather like an extra-long episode of television. I think the lack of character development was probably why it felt that way.

It did introduce some interesting ideas and new elements not typically seen in a Superman film.

I do agree that it's better than anything Snyder did. Overall, it was meh; I will probably wait until it's available on a streaming service to watch it again.

Most of the reviews from 2 to 4 out of 5 (aka the people that won't praise it unquestionably or ish over it just because) have said the same thing. Not the greatest film but very solid and opens the door for more down the line. It's good to see a lot of praise for David Corenswet's performance after some questioned if he was really appropriate for Superman when he got the role.

The issue is if enough people go see it in the Cinema for it to make money, or at least break even. If it can't beat the box office performance of what is generally perceived as a bad film in Man of Steel. it doesn't bode well for its performance and the DCU overall. It will help if it beats the FF film

Re watching Peacemaker and really enjoying it. Has enough humor to get thru each episode

Just came back from watching Superman thought it was fantastic
