Well… Dems forced Trump into running by going scorched earth through the legal system against him and then refused to have a primary and nominated literally one of the most unpopular candidates in American history as their candidate. In an alternate universe they let Trump fade into the background over the last 4 years and Biden/Obama come to an agreement before the race even starts about allowing the Dem voters to choose their candidate.
