I don’t see DeSensi’s winning in 4 years. It should be Vance vs Shapiro but wouldn’t put it past these parties to hit up the nursing home for candidates

I dont think it should be Vance. It might be, but thats asking to lose if the Dems put someone good like Shapiro up.

Us #nevertrump types never loved Kamala as a candidate, and I think that did show here despite the bluster and nonsense especially in the last week. But when you have an old candidate who wouldn't step down until it was too late and there were no alternatives, we just had to go to the general with the candidate we had. 

In a perfect world I don't think you would have heard many of us say Kamala was the best choice after Biden went down. She was just the only choice because of when he finally realized he couldn't do it.

I don't think Joe would have done any better last night. Joe of 2020 may have, but he ain't that guy. So I think it was the best shot, but Joe lost this when he chose Kamala as a running mate.

I still find it unconscionable how many people who claim to love America have just shrugged off January 6th and Trump's role in it. 

America no longer wants ideals and principles to strive towards. We want bread and circuses.

We get the government we deserve.

They should have nominated Buttigieg, the guy who actually bothers to communicate to ALL Americans, or Whitmer/Shapiro, one of the few stars they have.

But they couldn't do it. White people don't matter, they've implied it again and again. Minority populations are victims. You know doesn't like this kind of rhetoric? Most white people and minority populations.

I thought they might win in spite of it, but they didn't. It's 2016 all over again.

They’re not going to go down. Gas is one of the few commodities that fluctuate up and down. But the cost of housing, groceries, and other basic goods will not.

It goes even further with all men being "a problem” as a message from some. A fairly large chunk of black male voting shifted to Trump as did large parts of the Latino vote. The woke agenda took a beating.

One of the reasons inflation/economy was not high on my list is bc from my perspective I haven't had sticker shock on basic goods like groceries since late ‘22 to early ‘23. So for me it stabilized.

But more importantly I don’t think either side has any real plan to get the cost of things like groceries/housing down. How are they going to regulate how a private business prices their goods? That goes against capitalism.  I have noticed that some grocery stores that have digital prices tags change prices of a good throughout the day. Some of these are business decisions they make irrespective of cost bc they know on some basic goods they have no choice but to pay.

the only way we reduce the cost of housing is to make more housing available.

places like Lancaster are starting to be built up because it's just close enough to a major metro area to commute regularly (especially if it's a hybrid remote/on-site situation) and housing is affordable, and there's some opportunity to develop land there. it's too expensive to do this in the counties that ring Philly now, and I imagine that's true in many major metro areas.

I don’t believe that was the main reason. Yeah, a bit of that for sure but I think we are well past that now for a significant majority of men.

If the economy isn’t doing well, Vance would be the wrong pick.  If the economy is doing well, I’d expect Vance to be the nominee.  When I say economy doing well or not well, I don’t mean based on metrics, but on how the economy is doing for the people.  That’s part of the reason I think Trump won this time.  The metrics seem good for the economy, but higher costs are what people see in day to day activities and don’t see the good economy.

Tariffs (which aren't taxes!) will bring prices down because the other country pays for them not us. Pretty basic stuff to understand, really.
