He is a very flawed man and you just put him in an unchecked power position. The majority of American voters did that, it's not like it's a select few.
November 6, 20241 yr I think in the end she was a poor candidate to try and court the moderate vote, which was her primary focus. It was not the wrong strategy, just the wrong candidate. Us #nevertrump types never loved Kamala as a candidate, and I think that did show here despite the bluster and nonsense especially in the last week. But when you have an old candidate who wouldn't step down until it was too late and there were no alternatives, we just had to go to the general with the candidate we had. In a perfect world I don't think you would have heard many of us say Kamala was the best choice after Biden went down. She was just the only choice because of when he finally realized he couldn't do it. I don't think Joe would have done any better last night. Joe of 2020 may have, but he ain't that guy. So I think it was the best shot, but Joe lost this when he chose Kamala as a running mate. I still find it unconscionable how many people who claim to love America have just shrugged off January 6th and Trump's role in it. America no longer wants ideals and principles to strive towards. We want bread and circuses. We get the government we deserve.
November 6, 20241 yr I for one am amazed that trying and failing to Weekend at Bernie's a dementia victim back to the Whitehouse, then forcing an unchallenged coronation for Harris, then still running basically a 'Trump is a bad man' campaign rather than offering a positive policy platform to vote for has come up short. Telling everyone that thinks maybe it's past time for America to call Israel to heel to effectively go f' themselves was another genius move.
November 6, 20241 yr Well, what's going to happen now that elections will never happen again in America? Will we have a new holiday every 4 years to remember how it was in the 'old days'? Will we all be forced to go to movie theatres and re-watch last night every 4 years? I really just want to know what to expect and how we'll all feel in four years when there should be an election and then there's just nothing. I'm going to write to Oprah and see what I can find out, I'll post her response when I hear from her.

November 6, 20241 yr In the end of the day the perceived differences in economic impact between the candidates was the difference.

I'm not sure if the people around him really didn't notice his mental 'abilities', just wanted to deny his mental state or thought they could push him to the finish line one more time. The debate cleared up any and all of that. We just had an election of probably the worst 2 candidates in US History, one was primaried and the other was installed as the candidate. I am hoping that there will be some lessons learned from this going forward but I'm not sure that will be the case.

November 6, 20241 yr This was a rebuke of the hollow DNC platform based solely on hating Donald Trump and the gall of pretending Kamala wasn't a total fraud. And the DNC is in trouble because both Vance and DeSantis are poised to be very strong candidates in 2028. They should have picked Shapiro and at least prepped him for 2028. Newsom, Whitmer...these people are dead on arrival.
