November 6, 20241 yr "It's the economy, stupid." Economy and high prices A platform of how bad Trump is but not a lot of real answers wasn't enough Someone said earlier turning the woke stuff down from volume 11 to half that might help Don't demonize men, whites, Christians Don't cater to LGBT issues as much when they are a smaller population. Trans people are less than 1% of the population Can't ignore the immigration problem. The right over-emphasizes it as well, but you have to meet people in the middle and acknowledge the problem and how you plan to address it It's hard for a candidate to talk about changing things when she's also the current VP. People asked, what are you doing now to change things? Harris was style (if that) and no substance Harris came off phony with the different accents, affect and performance and didn't connect with enough voters The stuff people get worked up about (JD Vance in a donut shop, Walz is a coach and father, Trump's rants and rambles, Harris likes hip hop and wears converse) don't matter. Most people are moderate and vote for what helps them financially. A lot of people just vote the same party no matter what. The tweet zuker shared earlier was spot on: this is a clear message to Democrats that they do not focus on what voters care about. If this many people don't care about the things Trump has done and they only care about taxes and the economy then sell America on your plans for what they care about.

If you recall, we had the summer of George Floyd riots, which, by the way, many Democratic politicians participated in related protests despite their having locked down their constituents a couple of months earlier.
November 6, 20241 yr Can you believe the hubueris of this woman? She loses the election so she schedules a conference to speak demanding Trump to concede an election he rightfully won!!!
November 6, 20241 yr Author Seems like maybe someone should ask her what she meant by this. The Secret Service maybe?

November 6, 20241 yr Democrats Job #1 is to find a charismatic guy to lead the party into 2028. Yes, I said GUY. I'll need to crunch some of the demographics when they're published, but I saw on CBS last night that Trump had 44% of the female vote. If women don't even want a female President, Democrats need to stop kidding themselves.

It’s long overdue and would be an iconic and monumental moment in our nation’s history. I’d like to see it happen to someone who is chosen, and not forced, on the American people.

It's better that he avoid this and be a front runner for 2028. The best I can come up with is just people didn't feel like coming out to vote for her. Trump got about the same as he did last time around, but well over 10 million who voted for Biden just didn't think it was worth the effort. My theory is that 4 years ago everything was shut down, and people voted because they had nowhere to go and not much going on. They were sick of Trump, and just made the effort to vote because there was not much else to do. This time around they just couldn't be bothered. Neither candidate was worth the effort, stuff is expensive and they hate it, but it isn't stopping them from spending 2k a piece on Taylor Swift floor seats, and who care who wins the election? It's a cynical take but that's what my intuition says based on the returns. Shapiro would not have changed any of that.

It's just not going to happen. I'm voting for a straight white guy in the democratic primary in 4 years. Sorry not sorry

November 6, 20241 yr Democrats will be stupid and double down (they already are from the clips being shared) blaming everything on sexism, misogyny, racism, etc. I think it was Paco who said this (been catching up as my work had a 2 and a half hour workshop this morning with a software vendor, bad timing) that people will say everyone who vote for Trump is a (fill in the blank) but that's not realistic. Many just vote for policy or their own wallet. Some of them are, but labeling everyone doesn't work. It's counter productive. We need to condemn the "isms" and stand up for integrity. But also as strategy, recognize that what truly matters to voters is their regular every day life. Grocery prices are high, people don't eat out as much so restaurant owners suffer. People complain that fast food is not a cheap option anymore. Parading trans people in the white house and cramming LGBT issues into everything doesn't connect with the average voter. Treat people with respect, talk about diversity and accepting everyone and being a candidate for all people is fine. But putting too much focus on "woke" ideas turns many voters off.
