The wall statement in the Danbury letter is where people get the separation from, not the Constitution. The funny thing, which shows they are taking it out of context, is Jefferson went to church in the Capital Building, where they held church services. If he was so against things to the degree people want to suggest and believed in the absence of religion in government, then why did he attend church literally in the Capital where Congress met? The oath of office on a bible with "so help me God" came from Washington. So if there is supposed to be an absence of religion in government, then why do people get sworn in on a bible and say so help me God?
