I don’t disagree with Trump here.  He gave Putin whatever he wanted so there was no need for Russia to invade Ukraine.  When Trump got voted out Putin was no longer getting whatever he wanted.  It’s the voters’ fault.

It can be both Putin’s fault, and it can be our fault for not acting.  Trump is really stupid and says a lot of dumb things.  Making up fake quotes of him doesn’t help make people believe that he’s actually stupid.

It absolutely excuses Putin and puts the onus on the US. And you would agree if a Dem politician said the same thing about, pick a tragedy, Oct 7th or 9/11. You’re just willing to give a Rep a lot more slack.

If a Dem politician said we should have prevented 9/11, I absolutely would not think they were saying that those who did the attacks weren’t to blame.  I see a 9 second clip where Trump doesn’t mention Putin and can realize he doesn’t say that Putin isn’t to blame.  Others seem to see Ron put the thought out there and agree.

That's a very friendly interpretation of Trump's remarks. 

Weird how Kamala is never held to the same standard. 

Trump lies literally 100s of times every rally and it's baked in and accepted as just Trump being Trump. 

He presents almost no details of policy - goals are not policy - and what little details he releases show him to be economically illiterate.

But please, yes, let's make sure we step back and hem and haw over what Trump meant, as if after four years of seeing him screw this country up and leaning into every negative lizard brain impulse we don't have a good idea of what this guy is about.
