Not doubt but not the point

without the huge numbers of urban stupids the Dems would never win a thing

Suburbs and college grads go for Dems.

For sure if we dropped the red and blue stupids the parties would need to realign to remain relevant, but in 2024 Dems would have the edge.

A decade ago it may have been different. The party of Trump has chased off the educated and suburban women.

Suburbs usually go red for economic reasons

the female vote is all about trump. Once he is out they will look for a return to some semblance of logic and intelligence

Wait, you think the party that's been perpetually underwater with Americans who have a college education is the one that would always win elections in a scenario where voters would have to pass a citizenship test? Have I got that right?

You're more optimistic than I am about the Republican party returning to a semblance of logic.

I'm not sure what suburbs you're looking at but nearly half of Democratic voters came from the suburbs in 2016, and it's grown to close to 60% in 2022.

Boomers are carrying the Republican party right now.

Carrying them right off a cliff.

^This and it's truly amazing how "educated" people like TJ are wholly incapable of facing this reality. I get it though, it's embarassing to see what we once called our party transform into the party of morons, but that doesn't make it any less true. Republicans depend on large swaths of the uneducated electorate to remain relevant, and there's a very good reason for it. We literally see it play out every day in here.

And without their opposite, Trump would not be running.

Time for TJ to do his best cryhard impression... "Yeah that's BS, I'm not buying it."

Maybe 20 years ago.

And the women vote is going to take decades to swing back conservative even once Trump is gone (which who knows even when that will be).  The damage is gonna take a while to clean up.

eh, TJ is just more optimistic that Republican voters scared off by Trump will "come home" after he's gone.

I think Trump has turned the Republicans fully into the party of right-wing economic populism. they want the kind of crony capitalism that punishes Democrats and the protectionism that falsely promises them a free lunch. they've drank the kool-aid that America - the greatest beneficiary of globalism by a wide margin - has suffered for it.

In Toast's defense, I know it absolutely kills him to be on the same "side" as the libs during an election. I think he's gotta throw out some random Republican talking point every week or so just so he can feel alive again.

TJ is not as prone to economic populism as the Trump voters, but he’s still a crazy bug scientist

Hmm let's see here... some rando authors from media outlets nobody respects anymore, or literally your own canidate who said we needed to "terminate the constitution"?

No wait, I know... "Well you see, when Trump said he wanted to terminate the constitution, what he really meant was..."

Election integrity check:

Sounds about right.

Good strategy by Trump. Tap into the hatred normal Americans feel for the federal government. They can ship 10 billion to Ukraine or Israel at the drop of a hat. They can literally charter jets to fly Haitian rapists into the country, but when it comes to normal Americans, nope sorry. Good luck. Beneath contempt.

The ILA is on Strike looking for fair wages in the face of record corporate profits. Good thing I stocked up on TP. LOL.

 Harris leading with the AARP

Her numbers should be 3-4 pts higher across the board. It should not be this F'ing close with only 5 weeks left to go.

Yeah, it's a good time to buy one extra of the things you use.

It's also a good time to build/refresh a 48 hour kit. You never know.
