You're obviously the product of a failing civilization.

As @Bill mentioned, both abortion and cannabis will be on the ballot, which may drive Dem turnout. I don't think Biden can win it, but he may be able to force Trump to spend money to defend it. There's no path for Trump without Florida.

This is what a massive cash advantage allows you to do -- put the other side on defense.

Arizona abortion rights amendment backers says they've gathered signatures needed for 2024 ballot

First to NBC News: Arizona for Abortion Access says it’s exceeded the state petition signature threshold by over 120,000, with plans to keep gathering until a July 3 deadline

This would be the only thing that's redeemable about the strategy but imo still not worth the risk of potentially losing ground elsewhere. Would rather just use that money to hammer swing states with a varierty of ads instead.

No, Dems still need to hammer in Florida. You have to think about down ballot. Rick Scott is kinda vulnerable, plus they’re going to want to erase some GOP gains at the state level.

Pot and abortions on the ballot are going to drive turnout to begin with, so the DNC already has a head start there. And as @vikas83said, the more Trump has to spend money in Florida, the less he has anywhere else.

Plus there’s a lot of old DNC money in Florida. Generating interest in FL can lead to some ROI on donations.

Trump should be worried about this. Biden should be overjoyed. This has been a consistent pattern in almost every primary vote.

Upward of 100,000 Badger State Republicans went to the polls Tuesday and checked a box for someone (or thing) other than Trump, a former president who has won the GOP nomination in three straight elections.

One caveat to that is that a decent number may hold their nose and vote for Trump anyway come November. It’s one thing to protest vote in a primary, it’s another to do it in the general.

I kind of wish the never Trump republicans could rally around one specific write in candidate. Obviously they know they wouldn’t get elected, but doing so more as a way for the establishment to thumb their noses at the MAGAts.

If you're not paying attention, what Trump and his enablers are doing here tracks quite closely with the propaganda that Notzees employed to rise to power. That's not an overstatement, that's historical fact.

Quote

The NSDAPs started advocating clear messages tailored to a broad range of people and their problems. The propaganda aimed to exploit people’s fear of uncertainty and instability. These messages varied from ‘Bread and Work’, aimed at the working class and the fear of unemployment, to a ‘Mother and Child’ poster portraying the NSDAP ideals regarding woman.  Jews and Communists also featured heavily in the NSDAP propaganda as enemies of the German people.

Joseph Goebbels was key to the NSDAPs use of propaganda to increase their appeal. Goebbels joined the NSDAP Party in 1924 and became the Gauleiter for Berlin in 1926. Goebbels used a combination of modern media, such as films and radio, and traditional campaigning tools such as posters and newspapers to reach as many people as possible. It was through this technique that he began to build an image of Hitler as a strong, stable leader that Germany needed to become a great power again.

This image of Hitler became known as ‘The Hitler Myth’. Goebbels success eventually led to him being appointed Reich Minister of Propaganda in 1933.

You're fooling yourself if you don't think Trump wants to assemble the same kind of authority over the nation that Hitler did in Germany.

That is not to say that Trump wants to build concentration camps or commit the same kind of heinous acts that the 3rd Reich did, and I'm not claiming he would. But our entire system is predicating on NOT allowing such people to obtain positions of power, and some of you are hellbent on giving it to him.

What I cannot say with certainty Trump would not do? I believe he would very likely actually weaponize the DOJ as some idiots here claim (incorrectly) that Biden has. Do you think a Trump DOJ would have appointed multiple Republican special counsels to investigate himself in the interest of showing that he's not above the law?  And do you think Trump would not direct his AG to aggressively investigate political opponents? He absolutely freaking would.

If there is anything this forum has proven, is that Trump supporters lie about who they vote for.

Hardly a soul here voted for Trump, while he has a lot of defenders from people who did not vote for him.

They say.

No, that's not what I meant at all. You couldn't have gotten it more wrong.

Not a chance in hell that Rick Scott gets voted out in Florida.  There is a solid Republican majority down here and the Dems are not well liked in a large majority of the state.

This might be the only time we'll agree on something. Bring it in, buddy...

Just got my mail in ballot for the primary in the mail today.

After yesterday, I was thinking about writing in Bryce Harper for President, but then I realized he's not old enough to run.

It looks like Jason Kelce for President it is...

I know I talk a lot of trash on here and it seems like I don't care about the critical issues of the day, but I just wanted to take a moment to encourage everyone here to participate in the rare and precious gift of democracy. This is the most important election of our time and could have global ramifications for decades to come.

So let me just say, whatever your affiliation, get out there and vote on November 6!

The sun never sets on the British empire is a saying from the 1800s.  In the 21st century that dinky little island is irrelevant
