June 19, 20232 yr Eagles' best moves this offseason may have been at RB. Penny and Swift are absolute hammers.

Miles Sanders wasn’t the most sturdy guy when he was an Eagle either though, and he cost the Panthers a lot more than these two combined. Maybe the Eagles can keep both players healthy by stretching out their usage between all four backs than relying on one of them to be the sole guy.
June 28, 20232 yr Hopefully he comes in and is Sproles 2.0. Wish him the best here, and I hope he contributes to a SB win or two during his time here.

His first 3 years here he was solid, the last 3 (when he was def on his last leg, he was injured often. I'm hoping for the former with Swift as he's still young and will be in a RBC system.
July 9, 20232 yr The most reliable RB in the NFL going into 2021 was probably King Henry. He missed 8 games and came back soft as butter in the playoffs. Saquon has played 16 games 2x, 13 games 2x, and 2 games one year. What's he due for this year? Miles Sanders averaged 160 carries and 195 touches his first 3 injured years. He had 294 carries and 305 touches last year including the playoffs. Its the position, get over it.

Are you completely forgetting about the 2 weeks of "soreness" Sanders experienced prior to the 2022 season? That was HUGE!
September 21, 20232 yr Had a great game last wk but he won't get nor should we try to give him a workload like that consistently. IMO he's our most talented and versatile back. Could/should we utilize him in other ways such as the screen game? Split out? Maybe shovel passes? Obviously comes secondary to getting our passing game out of its own way first.
September 22, 20232 yr @NJWolverEagle11 I don't want him getting 350 carries but its great to know if they need him to get 20 carries in 4 big games then he can play like that.

If that's what the game calls for absolutely. I'm just thinking about what his versatility can add to the offense. It's been a while since we've had an elite screen game. I think Swift can be what Westbrook once was for us (minus the injuries/ concussions)
September 22, 20232 yr I wonder how Duce feels after he ran ape ish in his first game getting significant carries. (Already bested Miles Sanders' best, he needed 27 more yards to pass Duce's best from the pickle juice game)
September 23, 20232 yr Sounds like Gainwell is back after injury. I hope we don’t see another game where Swift gets completely ignored for Gainwell again.

September 23, 20232 yr He had a good game. Like his running ability, but concerned about his durability. Sharing the load with Gainwell and others would help, if Siri does not ride the hot hand too much.
September 23, 20232 yr Everybody is always so worried about "durability." Why "worry" about something you can't control (injuries). We brought two new faces into the RB room this offseason and both of them have had injuries in the NFL. So far, those two have stayed healthy all through camp, preseason and the first two games. Meanwhile Gainwell, Scott and even Sermon (preseason) have missed time. Most injuries will be minor injuries, many of which can be played through. With the group we have, there are guys that can step into the starting role at anytime. Sorry, I'm really just not worried at all about what hasn't happened yet. Ride the hot hand. Win games. Deal with the hands you are dealt throughout the season.

Deal with the hands you are dealt throughout the season. Once you get the "injury prone” moniker in football it is hard to shake off. Although I think for this player that may be a little unfair. Swift hasn’t really been a guy who can be counted on to handle a full load. Then again Gainwell really hasn’t had that role in the NFL either. Scott is definitely not that type of player and Penny does not look great so far and even when the Eagles we’re down to just two backs they barely used Penny at all to the point they had to overuse Swift. Are they sparingly using Penny because they’re afraid he might get hurt or is he basically just cooked? Right now the situation is Scott who can’t go for this game because he’s hurt, Gainwell already banged up, Swift with an injury history, and Penny with an injury history to go will looking like he’s cooked. If Swift can hold up he’s probably the best option at least for now, but they’re going to need to try and keep these guys rotating as much as possible… except for Penny, because clearly they’re not a big fan.
September 26, 20232 yr It's WAY too early for a comparison, so naturally, I'll do a comparison... Jahmyr Gibbs (he's why they got rid of Swift, right?) D'Andre Swift (2023)

September 26, 20232 yr Swift is what Michael Haddix should have been. Dude has amazing vision and burst.
September 26, 20232 yr Just curious to see what Lions fans were talking about: https://thedenforum.com/t/do-we-care-that-deandre-swift-just-had-his-best-game-ever/26023 I see some complaints about Duce in there, apparently, they don't like him lol.
