You have lost your sanity?  What possible reason could there be to reintroduce "eat crap” "Jane you ignorant ****” and "gonalooa, pederasty, why do these things sound so nasty” back into the mix when it has gotten so civil and respectful and solidly informative?

It is working very well thank you.

It shows the main purpose of his presence is trolling.  He would rather force others to have to consume the pages of mindless bickering he engaged in with the other trolls than engage in any substantive football discussion.

Hopefully he’s becoming suitably motivated to join his old troll buddies on their new board.

It is plenty active when there is actual Eagles news to talk about.  You seem to be looking for something more.  What is that something more?

I agree, but think it is simpler than that … a desperate need for attention.  When 4x4 et. al. were engaging him, no matter how negatively, it gave him validation of his existence.

Where is the new board?

Do his old troll buddies actually have a new board?

I was wondering the same thing.

active discussion. this thread used to be filled at all times, even if there was nothing eagles related. There were good off topic discussions.

I believe in the thread one of the mods opened up he mentioned they’d migrated to a different board and were already causing issues there.  I was never curious enough to ask where the other board was.  It’s quite possible they’ve already left or been removed from this other one as well

But we pretty much clamped down on all the non-Eagles talk … no politics, no religion, etc.  What active discussion did the now departed former members contribute to the board.  Quite a few of the posters who contributed those off topic discussions were driven away by the "active discussion” that existed here 6-12 months back.

But, since I know you are sincere in your desire, throw out a topic or two that you would like to see talked about.  I’ll do my best to engage your discussion constructively.  If it is an interesting enough topic, I’m sure others will chime in too.

BTW, the discussion on CVON looks to be pretty active today.

Birds have an opportunity to break the 20 year NFCE curse of back to back division champs. Biggest threat is obviously Dallas, but I also feel if Washington can get average QB play they have a chance to be good. Their defense was really the only team that gave the Eagles trouble on the ground. I think the giants are essentially the same. Jones just doesn’t do anything great, and their defense is so-so.

Who do you think is the biggest obstacle to prevent the Birds from a repeat? Hopefully they are on their way to winning another 4+ NFCE champions in a row.

I’ll have to check it out; there might be food for everyone there

Im about to get my kids ready for their championship game in little league. These boys are undefeated and only gave up 8 runs all year. Hope they can get just 1 more win today.

I wont be around for discussion for a while.

But, Ive been trying to start a youtube channel for my older son. And thinking about doing some other stuff with shorts. Anyone do anything like that? Im interested in tips. Filming, editing, drawing views, playing to the algorighm, etc. I have a lot to learn. Our vids suck right now.

Talk about summer travels. I tried this in the travel thread in WU, but postponned the trip. Looking for recommendations on how take a trip to NYC for the WTC memorial and museum at ground zero. Where to park. How to get from parking to the WTC with public transit. What other free things to see while in that area for the day?

1.  Injuries

2.  We don’t truly know yet whether Johnson is a good OC or Desai is a good DC; replacing both coordinators in the same offseason isn’t normally a recipe for success

I'm afraid both YouTube and the WTC are above my pay grade.  If you do go to NYC, be sure to take your kids to see The High Line.

Lol no idea why RTK suggested that (drinking/drugs?) but he's not friendly with the group that was banned

I agree with Alpha, injuries are far and away the biggest threat to a repeat.  Continuity/transition after losing both Coordinators and so many of the 2022 starters comes in second.

In terms of continuity/transition, Desai is the biggest unknown ... and also represents the biggest opportunity for improvement over 2022.  Johnson as the OC shouldn't be a problem, unless he finds play calling to be a bigger challenge than he anticipated.  I was listening to ESPN radio and they talked about the Bills' OC and all the problems he had during his first year as OC calling the plays.  I don't expect Johnson to have that problem, but it is possible.

The player transitions are much lower than the coaches transitions in my opinion.  I expect we will be better at RB unless injuries derail thart, but even with injuries I think we will be every bit as good as 2022.  RG will be a minor blip.  Seumalo was a whole lot better in the Stoutland system than he was given credit for.  It took him leaving for him to get his just due.  However, I'm very comfortable with both Jergens and Steen ... especially as the season progresses and they have more snaps under their belt.

I believe the D-Line will be better than last year, which is hard to imagine, but it will be.  I've been high on Dean all along.  I was probably the first person to get on the Elliss bandwagon (I've even projected the possibility that the 53 man will have two Elliss brothers on it).  I've also seen Morrow in the light of the Bears playing him out of position.  I expect him to be no worse than Kyzir White ... probably better.  I also like the Safety trio this year more than Epps and CJGJ.  Epps was reasonably solid and never spectacular.  CJGG was occasionally spectacular but often not solid.

So, for me the arrow is trending up.

He doesn't have to be friendly with someone as long as they make him the center of attention.  That group made him the center of attention in spades.

I think there are a few schematic concerns with the offense.

Our screen game is going to be even worse than last year. The TE screen game might work sometimes but it’s going to be pretty predictable lining up. I don’t see how the WR screen game will work at all with the personnel we have. RB and passes to the backs in general is a giant question mark considering we haven’t dipped into that well much. You think we would open that up more now with Swift but it remains to be seen. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still not something we often do.

Lack of hot reads is also somewhat of a concern but with Hurts legs it makes it less obvious. He can overcome a lot, but he still quietly got sacked a lot last year. Being the 7th most sacked QB in the league despite having the best O-line that has two guys who haven’t given up a sack in years and are likely HoF’ers isn’t ideal, especially if line play declines or injuries start occurring. It’s definitely a glass half empty point of view, but there isn’t much to be critical about right now.

I know it's the slow part of the year.  But that was probably a record long time for the blog to go without a post.

I'd rather go 12 hours without a post than have to dig through 10 pages of 4 idiots throwing crap at each other and everyone else. It's a lot nicer now even if it is slower

Central Park is amazing as long as the weather is nice. Hardest part is parking, every time I've been there I wasnt staying there so I just took a train/subway into the city and it was really affordable. Time Square is awesome but it gets annoying because there's a billion people and half of them are dressed up as cartoons basically begging you to take pictures with them, and they're not free.

The WTC museum and memorial are beautiful as well, very solemn and humbling place.

I recently got married and my wife and I went to Hawaii in May to look for a place to live (I PCS to Oahu in 2 weeks). She's also preggers (1st trimester) so we weren't able to do as much as we wanted cause she's super fatigued all the time but drove the north shore and I got so excited to move there. So many beaches and it rained for once, for maybe 20 minutes, in the 10 days we were there. After being stationed in washington for 4 years I am so ready for the sun

Lots of personnel changes including the coaching.

Quite a few unknowns and we’re looking for our rookies to fill some pretty big holes.

I’d say there’s quite a few obstacles

It is a perfect time of year for jogging in the park, digging in your garden, going to the shore, sailing on a lake, rafting down a river, fishing, playing with your kids and/or your friends.  We just finished a 3,500 mile road trip through the red rocks of Utah.  You could take a similar trip down I-81 to Tennessee and then down the Natchez Trace to the Gulf, then over to the Blue Ridge Parkway and back to Hazleton.  There is a wide wonderful world out there. Enjoy it.  Then, when Training Camp starts there will be more Eagles talk to be talked.

Those are some great ideas.  Wish I could for one.  But this time of year is my busy season at work so no vacations for me - at least until September.

Anyway, carry on - I was just chiming in. 👀

That sounds stressful and awesome at the same time.  Any idea how long you’ll stay in Hawaii, or is it dictated by the military?

BTW, the discussion on CVON looks to be pretty active today.

I am currently in the process of designing and constructing a new shed.  8' x 16', one side will be storage, the other side will be a greenhouse/potting shed.  Last night after the severe thunderstorm in the area, I tore down the old sheet metal shed (8'x10').   This morning I cleaned that up, and ripped up the old OSB floor.  Very beat up after 15 years of abuse.

Gravel was delivered to the front yard to allow me to expand the gravel base foundation... and we are about halfway through that process.  (This is a solo effort, so it can be time consuming... yet rewarding.). I am reusing the old PT 4x4s from under the old shed to contain the larger gravel pad.  I just measured out the area and have everything perfectly square (as marked).  Now I need to level the remaining 4x4's and refill the area with gravel.   That will have to happen tomorrow evening, as my morning and afternoon are spoken for.

If things go well with this greenhouse build, I should be able to have fresh greens throughout the winter from my own garden space... despite the freezing temps outside!  But this winter will be mostly a matter of passive heating, observation and experimentation.  Nothing too adventurous.  Just growing the hardiest of cold tolerant plants through winter in the greenhouse and seeing how it all fairs.  Mostly this is about getting an earlier jump on things outside in the spring.  I'd love to be able to get my own tomato starts up to 'nursery' size, but with MY preferred varieties, not just what the nurseries offer.  Same with my peppers (looking to try overwintering a couple inside the greenhouse - which would lead to bigger and earlier peppers next spring).

We will have to compare shed stories.  Yours gave me an ear to ear smile. Mine is a bit of comedy.

I’m redoing all our irrigation right now.  All of our garden is "impractical.”  Lots and lots of blooms/color.  No veggies.  I go to the farmers market for them.

We do blooms in the front for the wife.  The backyard is for me to grow veggies and smoke meats.

For giggles... the shed will be a single slope roof... 10 feet in the front, sloping down to 8 feet in the back.  That will provide some nice natural light, and will enable lots of loft space.   I'll be putting a loft on both sides of the 'storage area'... 7 feet up.  It should really free up the floor area of the shed to be able to do projects in during bad weather.
