EMB Blog: 2023 Camps and Preseason - NO POLITICS

Connecticut Eagle

A lot to think about for 2023.

Harder schedule.  Injury regression.  2022/2023 draft picks stepping up.  New coordinators.

Bottom line....fans of 30 other teams wish they were us.

Harder schedule is understated. Could see the whole NFCE slide down a bit.

First

They would not have to take matching salary from a team that is under the cap.

You have to find one of those few teams. I know the Spurs are one there may be a few others.

I just want to post on page 1 of the blog. And use this to move on from that catastrophe yesterday.

I actually like it. I think harder matches in the regular season gets us prepared for playoffs.

Don’t really believe in the East though, I think apart from us they just got lucky.

I like the way the schedule sets up because we have a real chance to start very strong. In 2017 and 2022, strong starts built momentum and carried us through. Hopefully we build up a nice lead in the division going into the bye and then can go 2-2 in that 4 game gauntlet.

I figured it had to do with something else after checking out the last couple pages of the thread lol

So if you guys had your choice of the following in a trade for LB who would you take and why?

Patrick Queen
Isaiah Simmons
Devin White

I'm going with Queen.  He's the kind of LB the Eagles love.  I can't see them wanting Simmons, even though he's a size/weight/speed guy.  When was the last 6-4 240 LB they've used?  I'd love if they brought in a player of that size but just don't see it being their thing.

Is Doc Rivers fired yet?

Kenneth Murray.  Sideline-to-sideline LB with really good closing speed.  His advanced stats through his career are pretty much the same as Queen, and he'd be cheaper in trade capital.

Anyone else have his feeling of impending doom? Like, last season was [almost] too good to be true and the difficulty level can only go up? Super Bowl loser curse?

I think it's coming.  Josh Harris called me this morning to ask if I wanted to coach the Sixers and Commanders, but we couldn't agree on a double salary -- plus my lawn needs a lot of work right now.

They will double the salary but you have the coach the Devils for free.

Nope -- 13 - 4 (13-3 competitively with the final game playing the 2nd string) and the SB this season.
