There should be a 'War on Obesity.'

Instead of accepting and normalizing it like we see nowadays.

When feelings take precedent over reality, that's what you get.

Gotta hope for no Eagles.

The fact that the word normal is now vilified is big problem. If you say you're normal or I'm normal, that means that 500 lb Sally isn't normal and we're oppressing her. It's everywhere. Obese models, obese fitness instructors and so on.

Just wait...MAP is the next thing to be "normalized". Listen to this lady, who works for our government try to explain that the word pedophile is bad.

Our society and culture needs to look deep in the mirror and figure out what the hell is going on and who is pulling the strings to keep us fighting. I'm at a loss anymore with what's going on.

I would assume if they bet any games they played in the penalty would be much more severe.

Never heard of this guy so it’s clearly no one great

Eagles OT Lane Johnson most impressed by Jalen Hurts' intangibles: 'When he speaks, a lot of substance is in it'

Jalen Hurts' dual-threat dynamism has wreaked chaos on opponents and been a boon for teammates.

It's the maturity and leadership of the burgeoning 24-year-old Philadelphia Eagles superstar quarterback that's truly left an impression All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.

"I just think his maturity for his age is exceptional," Johnson told Jim Rome recently. "Man, he does a good job with getting our guys fired up. Really, when he speaks, a lot of substance is in it. Yeah, man, I just continue to see him climbing and climbing."

Hurts has ascended quick as a hiccup from a question mark as Eagles QB to an answer as one of the elite playmakers in the NFL.

During a 2022 campaign in which Hurts garnered his first Pro Bowl selection, he posted career bests with 3,701 passing yards and 22 passing touchdowns, complemented by 760 yards rushing and 13 rushing touchdowns -- the latter ranking second in the NFL last year among all positions and second all time for QBs.

"He's a unique player," Johnson said. "I've had the ability to play with some mobile quarterbacks, from (Michael) Vick, you know Carson (Wentz) was able to do some things with his legs, and Jalen. Just having that guy that really gets into the minds of the defense. Gets into the linebacker's head, it affects coverages. It really changes a lot of the things for the game. And so, I feel like for offensive linemen, it does make it easier. It makes it really tough for defenders to be right."

Hurts' intangibles have resonated with Johnson and his teammates.

Though they weren't college teammates, Johnson said Hurts' character can be seen all the way back in college when he was memorably benched at halftime in the 2017 National Championship Game against Georgia. Tua Tagovailoa came on in relief, rallying the Crimson Tide to victory and relegating Hurts to a backup. Hurts clearly picked himself up, transferring to Oklahoma and then eventually emerging from a backup role with the Eagles to become their bona fide franchise QB.

"I just feel like, how he's developed, I feel like how he handled his situation in college really spoke volumes," Johnson said. "He didn't talk a whole lot, but he spoke a lot with how he worked. With the team at practice, in the weight room."

Even after all this time, and after so many people worldwide have had some type of covid vaccine or another and we're told everything is so great and all the risks are so minimal, why is virtually everything still EUA instead of FDA approved?

I am ready to move on to religion today.  There is no express prohibition against talking about it.  Here's my take:

Jesus does not have positional utility.  He is pretty much limited to playing OLB/Edge rusher.

FWIW - She is a clinician trying to make a distinction between people who act out on an inappropriate attraction vs. those who do not.  I don't know if there's any validity to her assertion that people cannot help it. I do not believe the pedophilia is present without some environmental factors.  That's why people who are sexually abused have high risk of abusing others.   If a clinician can take away someone's stigma about it, it may lead them to get treatment instead of abusing someone.

I would point out that attraction to children is nothing new.  Look at the history of child marriage in the US.  TN Republicans introduced a bill last year that would have removed any age requirement for marriage as long as there was parental consent.   Look at this study on child marriage: https://www.unchainedatlast.org/child-marriage-shocking-statistics/  It's the other side of the coin to normalizing this kind of behavior and it is often done in the context of religion and traditional roles for women. The Duggars and that cult were all about sexually exploiting women from a very young age.  It's done under the guise of adherence to traditional values and roles but it is nothing but abuse of children.

I think that is before you get to the priest, boy scouts and coaching sex abuse scandals.  These kinds of behaviors have long been in place.  There is nothing new about pedophilia.  It's as old as human history. This isn't some conspiracy to advocate tolerance of the behavior.

The response and tips for COVID told you everything you needed to know as far as where they value fitness, immune system, vitamins, etc. Sure, take all of the precautions that you can whether it's wearing a mask, not being around large public indoor spaces, get vaccinated, etc. but there was never anything about go out for a jog/walk, getting some vitamin D exposure rather than quarantining on your couch all day, or what oral vitamins you can take to help boost your immune system.

Season long is for betting on NFL games. It would only be a few weeks if was betting at the facility.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there is treatment for pedophilia. It's akin to conversion therapy for homosexuality. The sad reality is if you're a pedo, and they can be born or bred, you're SOL. It's Fed up, but the world can be a **** place sometimes. I've studied crime and true crime for years, and listened to criminal psychologists speak at length about this, and I've never once seen a pedo ever overcome it and not be attracted to kids. I've seen people get busted for it, go to prison for decades, come out and assault kids or get busted with child porn later. The best they can do is try to keep it in check, which is easier said than done because sexual urges are our strongest... given the biological nature of them. Even the strongest willed can only suppress them for so long. Which is why it should always be stigmatized. Fair or unfair, someone who's attracted to kids will always be a threat. And society should consider them as such... even if they've never offended. I wouldn't want one of my kids living next door to someone who had that proclivity, even if they've never acted on it. It's only a matter of time.

But I do feel destigmatizing it could have a negative outcome. Right now that stigma and criminalization are deterrents. And even they don't fully work, as we see everyday someone is getting busted for something. Take away those few that we have and I believe we could see flood gates. Sometimes those deterrents are all that keeps pedos from holding off to the point they do. Fear of prison and fear of shame. And I also believe that if we start this whole "don't shame the pedos" rhetoric, it could potentially open the door for legislation down the road for some creeps in politics to try and protect pedos from getting away with it with no jail time because it "isn't their fault" or even more radically, it's "their sexual identity."

Granted, those positions are very extreme and I think it would take a major major cultural shift to ever get there, but in the extreme fringes, you're already seeing some people try to argue that being attracted to kids is no different than being gay and if a child consents, then their desires should be respected."

Updated May 2022

Correct, which means it existed prior to that date and content was modified or added. If you're trying to claim that the CDC never once advocated for proper diet or exercise to mitigate risks of disease for people that might contract covid, you're mistaken. If you're trying to claim they did but it wasn't prior to May 2022, that's also incorrect. If you're trying to claim that regardless of the date, it wasn't soon enough and that all Americans needed was to be told "diet and exercise is important" for them to put down the fork and hop on a treadmill, then I've got some somber news for you.

Sure the CDC had guidelines that you could find, if you searched for them. However, they weren't actively pushing that at all. It was lockdown, stay home, stay safe. You have to admit that their was an entire social experiment that took place during the pandemic. They filled in skate parks with sand, arrested people paddle boarding in the ocean, took the rims off of backboards and countless other measures that impeded people from taking part in daily outdoor recreational, yet safely distanced activities to stay in shape and stay sane.  Everything around Covid is going to be a divide from now trough the rest of time. From the vaccines to the skewed death numbers (yes, dying WITH Covid counted as a Covid death) to the origins of Covid itself, we as a society are never going to agree on everything.
