Good stats but Hurts and that offense beat the piss out of pretty much everyone by halftime last season so a comeback wasn’t needed. And if he gets the ball back in the Super Bowl, I think he would have at least tied it.

Yea I just pulled them from Pro Football Reference. Hard to have comeback wins when you don't need them. The important thing is he's shown that he's capable and in the same time, has nearly as many as Vick did. He's proven to just be a clutch player.

Flyers got a hell of a player  , be 3 years before he can come over and play , 3 year contract in Russia

Hurts should have at least 3-4 more from 2021.  So many games where the defense just needed to get the ball back for the offense and after Hurts got it to one score games and the defense lets the opposing offense just bleed the clock for the rest of the game.  Then the Giants game too where Reagor dropped two would be game winning TDs on back to back plays to end the game.  I'll always be disgusted by that.  Hurts got a lot of well deserved criticism for that game but it was also promising to see that for what was his worst game ever he still made two throws at the end that should have won them the game.

Last season, the team built a huge lead in 2nd Q in most games.  The other teams managed to trim the score, but not enough to win the games.  Hurts did not have that many opportunities to have winning drives, as he had the leads already in 4th Q.  Circumstantial reason his stats in that category is not impressive.

Care to give any more information?  I'm pretty terrible with hockey prospects that need to develop. Flyers always seem to draft guys who never live up to their billing. Is he the real deal?

Looks it. 18 years old, explosive forward with good skate skills and a rocket. Could work on his defensive game. Concern about the war/political issues with Russian athletes. Under contract through 26/27 so could be four years. That said he’s 18. Been a while since the flyers pushed minutes on a 21 y/o.

First time to be excited as a Flyers fan in a long time.  I'm all in on this new era and rebuild with the new FO.  Will be an Embiid style wait for this kid to come over while the team hopefully tanks and just loads up on good draft picks and young prospects.  The kid is definitely small but he is skilled.

The average American was not going to the CDC site

No you're right, the average American who wasn't listening to their doctor at their annual physical when he told them to eat better and exercise more, but if only they heard it on the news then suddenly they'd whip themselves right into shape! Good one

Supposedly he was in the conversation at some point for #1 overall, and probably would be in different years without Bedard in it but the Russia contract thing pushed him down. I also read somewhere there might be character concerns but I have no idea.

Someone else on Twitter put it as "it’s basically the Flyers drafting Jalen Carter”

If you're argument was that the CDC posted on their website about fitness, immune system, and vitamins for COVID advice you're right. No argument there. If you don't think the narrative being driven was to stay inside, don't be around other people, isolate, don't go to a gym, don't go outside, and just sit on your couch and stuff your face or if you do go outside, the drive-thru McDonald's where you can order three Big-Macs is fine because we're allowing that to stay open, then I don't know what to tell you.

Good thing people were so healthy prior to covid and weren't overweight at all before the media "narrative" told everyone to order 3 big Macs at McDonald's. I forgot about that, my mistake.

I never really understood the revisionist history/nostalgia with Vick as an Eagle. He was a fun player who played really good for some stretches, specifically in 2010. Flattened out at the end of that season and threw the game ending pick in the playoffs against GB.

He’s nowhere near McNabb, prime/clutch Foles, and even Hurts through two full seasons starting has surpassed him as an Eagle.

Vick is closer to Wentz than anything and you can make the argument that Wentz was better in 2017 and 2019.

It’s because Vick is the most athletic QB the Eagles have ever had. And he’s definitely better than Foles. If the Eagles had Vick in the early 2000s we would have a SB already. Don’t forget how electric he was in ATL. He was an MVP candidate. Foles isn’t in his league.

I'm shocked the Flyers couldn't negotiate a buyout of some kind.

It applies to you as well. No one can have a differing opinion than yours or you look down on them and you mock them. You're narrow minded. People should be able to make decisions that they feel is best for themselves without others belittling them. But you'll continue doing what you do because well... you have a superiority complex.

And how did you know I have a face only a mother could love...? The cougars do love me though

I can't take anyone who says "sorry not sorry" seriously. And you’re not better than anyone else (as much as you want to believe it) and people can make decisions for themselves (as much as you hate it). Sorry, not sorry

I’d add he’s considered the best Russian prospect since ovechkin. Before the KHL contract and everything going on with Russia he was actually right there with bedard in terms of prospects. On the athletic one of the nhl draft analysts talked about how he should’ve been a top 2 player and he’s the best prospect he’s seen to ever available at 7. Essentially if he lives up to the hype and so does gauthier the flyers got two guys that are going to be a crapload of fun

I remember his dad in the arcade game nhl open ice. That was about 20 years ago. Time flying by.

yup have to take that kid. He could be really special

Either he’s enough DT for everybody, or they were hellbent on building a 3-dimensional Dline

No reason to buy him out , the team stinks and is starting over  , accumulate assets  and hopefully in 3 years when his contract is up , they are ready to compete .

Guys like this^ only needed to be told to eat a proper diet from Lester Holt. It's a real shame that never happened.

Prescott isn’t THAT bad, that’s a little harsh

The average American was not going to the CDC site. The average American had their eyes glued to the TV listening to whatever the current news anchor was telling them to do while watching the death count ticker in the corner. The media was NOT pushing for anyone to go outside and stay active. These are the ads they were showing.

Then you have the social media push with profile frames and such. It's sad how many people live their lives through social media and how important they think those stupid frames are but here we are in 2023.

No one is moving a goal post. Merely stating that the narrative was NOT you can still go outside and exercise. It was everything below.

Government swiftly pulls 'sexist' Stay Home ad after backlash | PR Week

Facebook: Here's How to Add a Stay Home Frame to Your Profile Picture

That NHS campaign was the shizits. The longer it went on, the more contradictory it became.  I still don't understand why the CDC is mandating 2 x up to date COVID vaccines to travel to your country.  My employer has only recently dropped a similar mandate as policy, but some markets like the US and India are mandating it still.  Utterly bonkers

Regardless, 26 days until TC starts.
