I just got done shingling the roof of my shed.  5.5 hours worth of torture... but having it done is a good feeling.

A few exterior steps left ( like actually installing a door and the windows) and then we trim it out and it's 'complete'.   Then the fun of designing tyhe storage space to make it actually convenient and functional begins.

That is some hard work right there. Treat yourself to a cold one!

I'm up at my family's mountain cabin in West Jefferson, NC. Just cleared the gutters, cleaned limbs and leaves off the roof, trimmed trees and brush, and raked the driveway. Time for my cold ones!

He tries very hard. Having seen the beats at Lehigh, I can state with certainty that they spend more time talking to each other than watching the players and coaches. At least ESP watches.

I've felt for awhile he wouls go down as the beat kicker in the teams history.  When I brought it up years ago everyone said Akers.

I just don't see the argument for Akers.

Are we just posting from Reddit now instead of the Twitter?

The kicking game in the NFL has improved dramatically over the past twenty years. A kicker putting up the same stats that Akers did during his career would be one of the worst kickers in the league today. Of course at the time he played, Akers was actually one of the league's better kickers. Still he missed two short (34 and 41 yard) field goals in the playoff loss at home to Green Bay in 2010 which significantly contributed to the close loss. If he makes those, Vick isn't tossing up a last second interception to Riley Cooper. (Yes, I realize the game would play out differently.)

Elliott is definitely objectively better than Akers was, although Akers compared to his peers was better than Elliott is compared to his peers.

Akers was carried by Koy.  Thats why they cut a player heading i to thebplayoffs in the 2006 season so that they could being Kpy into hold and they won their wild card game because of it.  No surprise he missed those Packers field goals and the a year or two earlier against the Giants at the end of the regular season when he no longer had Koy serving the holds up on a platter.

The refs are judged by one call … a call that Bradberry didn’t dispute, and even said after the game that he deserved the flag.  The timing and the fact that it was the first (and only) PI flag of the game was highly questionable, but that is only one call.

"Especially if the grounds crew overwaters the field” is where the real problem with/in the SuperBowl exists.  That problem affected every single play, not just one single play.  Back in the days when one MLB team had really fast players, their grounds crew used to overwater the infield so the ground balls would be slowed by the wet grass.  Their fast players were able to beat out more infield hits as a result. So overwatering grass is not something new in sports.

It was more than one bad call. Bradberry was also taking the high road.  I'm not saying the refs were the only reason the Eagles lost . It played a huge role in the outcome in my opinion.

Too good. That’s worse than saying a QB was carried by his center

Super Bowl worst calls from NFL refs: What is pass interference?

(1) James Bradberry got away with a pretty blatant pass interference call against JuJu Smith-Schuster which stalled a Kansas City Chiefs drive early in the game. It wasn’t a game-changing call, by any means, but there’s a reason it’s only the first bad decision listed.

(2) Later in the game the officials evened things out at the worst possible time. Bradberry was called for pass interference in the fourth quarter, which gave the Chiefs a free first down. At the time, it looked like relatively weak contact. It allowed Kansas City the chance to wind the clock down for a game-winning field goal.

What is a catch?

(3) The NFL’s definition of a catch is confusing to any fan. Really, it’s a case by case basis. We just wish there was a little more consistency in the matter.

Super Bowl 57 had several examples of catch vs. no-catch rulings, and while they weren’t necessarily wrong in the moment, they are worth pointing out due to the lack of clarity.

If you can tell me for a fact that Goedert completed the entire process in his reviewed catch, without a doubt, then DeVonta Smith’s so-called no catch earlier in the game doesn’t inspire much confidence.

It appeared as though Smith secured the catch, but when he went to the ground the ball moved ever so slightly. Why, then, was Smith’s play a drop, but Goedert’s a catch?

Beyond those calls what were your problems with the refs?

Rich Eisen on Sport Center being so unbelievably disrespectful to two Koy Detmer TD throws at 40 seconds in this video.

I still can’t believe Detroit had 5 first and second round picks and took 0 lineman. The recipe for winning in the NFL is right there and they don’t care

Word of caution. Mitchell & Ness was sold and their quality is nothing like what it used to be. I believe they are owned by Fanatics now. Take if for what it's worth. Still good looking retro jerseys but not the same quality of the OG M&N.

That does suck, but I don't think there's any alternative companies that are any better?

Yeah, pretty dumb. You’ll have to make a smaller "list” of beat writers to follow on those open practice days. Hopefully it’s fixed by then, or some other social media app gets more traffic. I’ve seen a lot of people move to Instagram or Bluesky Social.

You point out a missed call on Bradberry.  That's the way it was being called both ways the whole game.  It's like changing the strike zone in baseball in the bottom of the 9th.  The Smith catch overturn I thought was bogus.  Stay with the call on the field.  I didn't see anything to overturn.  There was also a obvious missed face mask on hurts after the fumble.  There was several missed holding calls on the chiefs offensive line as well. This what I believe I saw. I'm not gonna go back and forth on a difference of opinion.  We will have to agree to disagree.

They have a top 3-5 O-line in the NFL with the oldest guy being Vatai at 30. He’s also the only one who would need replacing, the other 4 are really good.

But with that said, I’m not a fan of their draft, especially considering positional value.

Their offense line is very good as is. Plus the options at o-line in the top 12 just wasn't great so I'm not blaming them there. The positional value though is something they can be criticized for. Even though I love Gibbs and love Campbell. Actually I love the players they got in the draft it's just the positional value thing. But if these guys make immediate contributions maybe even difference makers and they are winning, then I can't get on them too much. I'm jealous of their safety duo. I was suggesting we do the same exact thing they did, pairing Branch up with CJGJ

There were other calls or decisions that deserve questioning both ways. It's weird to me that fans would rather berate Watkins for a "so-called" drop on a play that was clearly DPI:

When a receiver extends / jumps to make a catch, a hand from the defender pulling the receiver's shoulder back down clearly is defined as pass interference.

Word is that their server contract with Google is up 6/30 and they are behind in moving to an alternate.

Do people actually read 600 posts a day?  If they're using Twitter that much, then they should be verified.

And if anyone reads 6000 posts a day - they really need another hobby...lol.
