We’d wreck Olines so bad it wouldn’t matter our back 7 talent

I can’t justify not spending $5 on White and $5 on Brown.  But that only leaves me with $5 for the remaining three selections.  Thomas is considerably better than Reese and Waters is similarly better than Mikel, so my last $1 goes for Sheldon.

Reggie, Jerome, Willie T., Sheldon and Andre

I would prefer Graham to Douglas in that situation because Graham can move inside.  If you wanted to go for all of the positions,  I would go with:

White

Cox

W. Thomas

Brown

Hopkins

Isn't the point of this to pick 1 player from each position?

For me:  White, Harmon, Thomas, Brown, Dawkins.  (I would have gone Vincent, if I could play the void years game that Howie plays... or even grab Brown with that as well and really pull a Howie kicking the can down the road.)

I like your choices.  I just couldn’t resist Jerome and Reggie.  You couldn’t resist Reggie and Dawk.

Must be using an alias.  6'5" and 190 lbs is not a wideman.

Skinnyboi doesn't have the same appeal

Not even training camp yet and there are pundits guzzling Cowboy juice.  Cannot give a perfect grade to a team who was third in the NFL in sacks last season, especially when the top two teams both played in the Super Bowl.

Gave us a 19 due to our 5th edge rusher being Tarron Jackson who they gave a 0.  Said that Sam Williams and Fowler were better depth than Barnett and Jackson.

EDIT:  They didn't count Smith as an edge rusher but rather a SAM lb.  I think Smith is going to be rushing the passer more often than not when he is on the field.

I think William Thomas was better than Trotter although Thomas played SLB instead of MLB.  Evans is pretty close to Trotter.  I think Cox is probably better than Brown.

For $8 I can have a backfield of Hopkins, Waters, Brown and Vincent?  Samuel rated above Troy is nuts. Jenkins above Waters and Hopkins? Graham and Douglas for $3?  Willie T for $2.  That’s nuts.

I guess they aren't counting Nolan Smith?

Agreed.  It was tough to pass on Jerome, but frankly, Andy Harmon on the $2 line is a major bargain.  When he was healthy, he was a force in the middle of the pass rush.  Harmon is criminally underrated even by Eagles' fans.   His 4 years of healthy play at DT averaged over 9 sacks per year.   Consider this... Andy Harmon ranks EIGHTH all-time for the Eagles in sacks.  And he's the only DT in Eagles' history to crack double digit sacks in multiple years.  He also has the highest single season sack total for a DT in Eagles' history at 11.5, and is tied for the second highest at 11.0 (with Hargrave from this past season).

For the money, Harmon might be the best value on the list.  Vincent might be the second best value.

Yeah, I just edited that on my comment.  They counted him as a SAM

BTW, logging onto NFL+ it asked my zip code for live games. I skipped that but I doubt it will be optional when the season starts. Don’t know if that is for live preseason games only at this point or maybe the streaming ones as well. We’ll see when the season starts. Frankly, I like the condensed games for other teams as I can watch a game in 45 minutes.  I don’t care if they are live or not.  I enjoy watching the All 22 for the defense, especially the secondary. So I will continue to subscribe until the NFL prices it out of value.

The All-22 is the ONLY way to get a good read on the O Line. I too will continue to subscribe until...

Joyner said back years ago that Cox was the only guy he'd ever seen who could do what Brown did... and said, at the time, that he might have been better.   (That was back when he was 2 gapping under Chip.)

Hard to rank a team above the Eagles who had league high 40 sacks from their Edge rushers when the Cowboys had 10 less. The only Stat in favor of the Cowboys was they had one more forced fumble.

Their system is based on assigning a number of points based on the players position on the depth chart.

All depends on what era these fantasy teams are playing in too.  Trotter vs. Willie T in today's NFL, I'm taking Thomas every time. He was so underrated and such a great coverage and blitzing LB. Heck, I might take him over Trotter even in the heyday of the running game.

Maybe Trotter leaving and coming back then leaving again has made me forget about his impact on defense but he always seemed to be a bit overrated IMO. He probably isn't because he made the defense better.

There's no argument about those choices. Harmon is probably underrated because of the teams he was on and his shortened career.

The problem was that they did nothing really to replace Trotter.  I think the plan going into the season was Mike Adams and then it ended up being Levon Kirkland.  It was a terrible plan.

Chip's idiotic approach to defense wasted his talent.

Definitely.

You mean Keith Adams? Mike is the UD safety. Would have loved to have him as an Eagle.. Wasn't that also the Mark Simonea/Mike Labinjo/BJ Bello era too?

I loved Andy Harmon. It’s just a sprained knee, we were told. Should be back in about a month, we were told. And he never played again. He was in the prime of his career and it was over just like that. Tragic.

But we got the fake Andy Harmon a few years later when they signed Rhett Hall.

White, Cox, Trotter, Allen, and Dawk.

Since it's a pretend game, I'm using pretend coupons to afford them all.

Championship! :groovy:

Any good Phillies playing for Iron pigs tonight? I'm at the game.

I'm similar thinking with this one here. Though I would do Vincent and Waters at $2 each for the final 2 selections. Vincent was a much better player and leader so at that value it's hard to pass up. Waters then at the remaining $2 is fine by me.
