Sanders went to Penn State, so he's Big "10".

D’oh. I switched his hometown with college and was thinking Pittsburgh

As a 3rd DT I like him a lot. The issue I see is that I think it will be tough to keep him cap wise. He’s not a starter with Davis and Carter, but he probably can start for a lot of other teams. Good problem to have though.

He's primed to take another jump and seems to fit the teams mold for an extension. But like you said, this team has many bigger fish to fry that will be huge contracts. I'm not sure if he would take a team friendly extension right now especially with the starting spots basically blocked but I'm sure it is being looked into. I think they would fine there this year without Williams with the top three and then Ojomo, Street, Noah and Marlon. Plus the vets still sitting around like Suh.

If it doesn't look like an extension is going to be a viable option, Gannon really liked him. Maybe you can get a favorable package from them. They have a slew of pics. I love LB Zaven Collins but he will be ready for a contract soon and we're not paying a LB so I can't see that happening. Otherwise, I would love to pair him up with Dean. Baker I can't see happening due to his contract demands either. But just for fun one trade idea, maybe rookie Owen Pappoe, projects as a OLB with a good athletic profile and college production who has a higher pedigree of talent than what we currently have, plus a 2024 or 2025 draft pick, say a 3rd rounder. Pappoe would be a cheap & longer term contract at a position that is pretty bare long term and we won't have to toy with it as much every year. Him & Dean would project as your cheap young starting LB duo for the next few years which would be a breath of fresh air. You still keep Morrow as he would project as the starter this year due to NFL experience.

If not, I'm sure there would be teams out there willing to trade for a young versatile DT like Williams. I quickly glanced at the Steelers & Browns rosters. Didn't see much on the Pitt roster that enticed me initially but would try to steal away Owusu from Berry but probably doubtful.

Diggs might be the odd man out. Dak could be gone

Yea, and the Cowboys might be better off without him. He's going to get paid because he makes plays but he also gives up a TON. Not worth the money he's going to get.

Have to disagree. Maybe there were conflicting conversations but at least the conversations moved along. Seems like this place has taken a massive hit in content since the ban hammers came down.

You clearly prefer quantity over quality.  Do you read the comments on Igglesblitz.com?

I guess I didn't word it properly. I meant the 6 mil in cap space you would gain back because the contract drops off.

You worded it fine.  Your explanation was clear, but it had a flaw.  You don’t get the 6 million back when the contract drops off.  All you get is the roster vacancy.

My favorite Michael at the QB position and might be favorite QB in the draft …also like Ward ,Rising ,Rattler and Jefferson

Plus you get he 6 mil cap space back since you are no longer paying that player, no?

Since the anniversary date has passed my guess is we are looking at days prior to the start of training camp for the new jersey reveal.

Cap space exists in both the current year and what you push forward.

You don't get it back, you are just not paying another 6.

You cant push that 6 forward since you spent it. Its why Sammy Sleeves did damage to the 2018 Eagles. (less to roll forward from 2015 and 2016(dead cap in 16))

Riley Leonard is another quality QB

I was going to say Sanders for pro-bowl ACC but he’s not on the team

? Is Landon Dickerson.  Played at FSU before transferring to Alabama.

Thought of that, but did he play in the Pro Bowl?

I think we are going to see some mixed fronts from the Eagles D.  In addition to Williams, they added two more big DE/small DTs to the team this offseason in Street and Oromo.  Add to that, we saw some Cox in a DE like position last year.  Anyone thing that Carter can’t do that. Playing that with some regular sized DEs in Sweat, Graham, Robinson and Barnett.  Then toss in Edge/OLBs in Reddick, Smith and P Johnson.  Then look at the speed at the ILB (OLB hybrid too).  And they have some Ss that can blitz too.  The opposing team won’t know where pressure is coming from.

Yes

Nick and Desai have built an interesting staff. More experience than Gannon had. Seems a prerequisite is having coached at Temple. What’s interesting is the level that many of the coaches moved around.  Really the only holdovers are Rocker, Washburn and McDonald, although McDonald is in a different role.  Washburn is interesting in that before he joined the Eagles, he was an OL coach.  I wonder if Williams, Ojomo and Street spend anytime in the group room with Washburn.

No.  You do not get anything back that you have already spent.  The only way to have that $6 million in the following year's cap is not to spend it in the current year.

Yes he was named to the pro bowl this past season.

Keeping the special teams coordinator will again prove to be a mistake.

3/5 of the Eagles starting OL last year had a better 3 cone 😂

This is a funny thread for those who Reddit. Fans of other teams state the player they wish their team kept instead of let leave/get traded.

Multiple Panthers fans say James Bradberry

2 Bills fans say Jason Peters

Multiple Steelers fans say Javon Hargrave

Lions fan says anyone involved with Matt Patricia (Slay being the most notable)

2 Other Panthers fans say Evan Mathis

Texans fan says Brandon Brooks

Basically it’s turned into the "Howie is good at FA” thread. Just waiting for a Cardinal fan to bring up Reddick
