How does that work with the holdout?  I thought the deadline was today to sign to a new deal.  If they can't give him a new deal now until the offseason then what is the holdout for?  Skip the season? Wanting a trade?

If he skips the season then he's likely getting fined for all of those missed games

I think they're just calling it a holdout because he didn't sign and he's not reporting to camp

I can't remember what all happened when Bell did it

Sorry, another Kelly Green post. What's weird to me is how quiet the Eagles have been about the whole thing. Look at these other teams with the buildup for release. Teasers, actually dates and such. This is just a snippet of the amount of anticipation other teams have built up through their socials. What do we get from the Eagles? Which lunch table would you sit at? I really think the Eagles media team is one of the worst in the NFL.

The sooner everyone gets on board with the idea that the Eagles are just yanking our chains, the sooner we can get on with our lives.  Apparently, Kelly Green is an impossible color to replicate, and the paperwork required by the NFL to have an alternate jersey is more complicated than the ins and outs of the salary cap.   The Eagles can't get it done.  They just don't want to tell us.

Bell sat out all season and was an actual hold out, although it was financially a disastrous decision.

If they haven't signed the tag, they cannot be penalized for holding out of camp.

He wasn't fined but he missed out on like $8 million dollars of salary.  I think Saquon and Jacobs can avoid any  loss of pay by signing before the first game.

If he hasn't signed then I don't believe he can be fined.

Yea, Barkley and Jacobs just have to show up before Week 1.

Bell wasn't "fined" per se, but he missed out on $14.5M because he didn't show up at all. Every week he gave up a game check which was like $853k

Yea I used the wrong word choice. I meant he'd lose out on game checks if he held out once the season begins

How can it be so hard to replicate if those jersey leaks were legitimate?

Even if those leaks were fakes, they looked pretty damn good for fakes if so.

I don’t think it’s a matter of anointing Herbert. I think it’s more simply that he absolutely passes the eyeball test. Forget the W-L record (let’s not revisit the Matthew Stafford argument) and just watch the way the guy plays. He can do it all.

Also, who the hell cares about fantasy football?

I’d also love to see him with better coach than staley.

Staley is a defensive HC. They changed their OC to Kellen Moore

That was mostly sarcasm... but they have already proven to be inept when it comes to the paperwork.

Tbh they should’ve fired Staley and brought in sean Payton

I'm not a believer in Payton. I think he lucked out with Brees

Payton's offense was perfect for brees skill set.

I think herbert would’ve worked well with Payton. Chargers might have folded in the playoffs but Herbert, ekeler l really why they won 10 games last year. Chargers coaching has been a disaster for 3 years. I know Payton is capable of getting an offense to play better than Staley and the chargers coaching staff now. They hired moore but I’m skeptical Dallas just let moore go. Feels like he was Jones’ young golden boy and then all the sudden he wasn’t

frankly i think payton was dumb to take the broncos job and not just wait a year cause i think could be better places to go then Denver with Russell who’s a reclamation project after last year

I don't know that it was that disastrous financially, I mean the dude got 32 mil guaranteed from the jets who cut him a season and a half later.

Definitely affected his stats as he was awful with the jet but 20+ games for 32 mil isn't too shabby.

Where are the jersey reveals?  Before you know it, it's going to be midweek.  And then after that the end of the week.  Then no real time left before training camp to show them.

Looks like the Eagles revealed the black alternate helmets last year on July 22nd so maybe they'll do around the same time this year

In general, I'm anti paying RBs. However, there are always exceptions. Teams drafting 1st round RBs not to pay them is bad business. It hurts your locker room, as other players see that they won't be taken care of. "For who, for what?"

He went with Hill and that offense. His decision making is questionable to me

Had he played on the tag it’s likely he gets that same deal, if not better. Instead he forfeited $15M in his prime to get one last payday. Considering his career earnings is about $45M total, he gave up on 1/3 of that in one year.

There are certain subjects we veer off to from time to time that are generally viewed as acceptable. For the love of God, please let's not include flat earth debates. Holy F.

Ya, especially when we all know it's a giant donut!
