Both reported declining ad revenues, Meta for several quarters and Alphabet for at least two quarters.  Twitter was always behind on ads because they weren’t targeted.  I am not defending Musk, I am pointing to a real bubble potential in some of the most overpriced stocks.  Bottom line is the indexes are way up primarily because of these overpriced stocks.

The 59% decline was year over year, a number which facebook and google won't even come close to. You don't even realize how much you're undermining your own argument right now.

Something else I noted while rerunning the Bears game was that they totally committed to the scrape exchange to counter the read option. Their clear strategy was to get hits on Hurts.

From looking at that game live, it seemed like that was Steichen's strategy too.  Way too many carries for Hurts, especially with how many hits he was taking, and they weren't just touches either.  He took quite a few big shots.  The Eagles' coaching staff was liable for that.  I said it at the time, and nothing has changed my opinion on that.  Hopefully this season, they will work to keep Hurts clean this year.

I agree they should have moved away from RPO's.  They should not have needed to use Hurts in the running game even as an option to move the ball.

Yep now that he's landed the big contract, the staff can't be as careless with the game plan and play calling. Way too much invested in him to be putting his body on the line every game.

Just felt like a lazy game plan.

Tesla's cars were and are still profitable.  I'm still ahead on the purchase.  I just don't think the price would have dropped as much if Musk had not bought Twitter.  I think his credibility has been impacted and that, in turn, has impacted the markets' belief in Tesla's claims about future advancements.  Part of the appeal of Tesla is that they are more than a car company.  They have, theoretically, technological products like more advanced batteries and energy storage devices, solar roofs and robotics.  I think long-term it's a good investment but I don't think it's success is as tied to Musk at this point.

Shall be interesting to see how Toyota’s solid state battery works out.  That could revolutionize EV if the projections are correct.  Lighter weight, quicker charging and better range because of the lighter weight.

Tesla stock jumped when Musk hired the NBC woman to run Twitter.  If I own any Tesla, it’s in an ETF or Mutual Fund.  Let the manager figure out when to take the profit.  Thing that drives me nuts with tech stocks is how few pay dividends.

If he didn't care about his reputation he wouldn't lie about being a UPenn graduate.  Musk does care how he is perceived.  I don't think he would seek public attention if he didn't.

He didn't care even a little bit, when he potentially alienated a 3rd - 1/2 his user base that prefers the ability to silence those with opinions they do not like.

I'm putting Devonta ahead of Tua every time.

Well yeah, it lacks the features it needs. With it being connected to Instagram, those users will come back once the app is improved.

I reran the Bears game from last season, concentrating on Nick Morrow and came away quite impressed. He can run and he diagnosed plays quickly. He was by far the Bears best defensive player and I suspect that his performance in that game played a large part in our signing him. He's a little undersized, as is Nakobe, and there will be times when that lack of size will hurt us but those two have a lot of speed and we have big DTs to protect them. Our LBs were dreadful in the SB, so no loss there. Definitely more speed this year.

Did he play MLB or WIL in that game?

I guess they don't allow writers to stalk parking lots anymore. Today is boring.

His ranking didn't make sense to me either

My argument that social media is losing ad revenue and overcapitalized?  My argument that Twitter was broken before Musk bought it?  My Eagles focused thread doesn’t seem to have suffered much.  We’ll see as TC opens.  Frankly, that is all I use it for.

Both, but mostly WIL.

Major League Baseball.  (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.)

Oh I see, so Twitter was seeing declining ad revenue before he bought it, and yet somehow he still managed to steer it even further into the red with a 59% ad sales loss in his first year of owning it. So he took a failing platform and dedicated himself to fail even harder with it. How impressive!

As for your other examples of companies with declining ad revenues...

Meta Platforms reported earnings on Wednesday for the first quarter of 2023, beating analysts’ expectations with earnings per share of $2.20 on revenue of $28.65 billion, and demonstrating that its advertising business is more resilient than some investors had feared.

Google’s advertising revenue in the opening months of 2023 came close to matching the buoyant results it reported a year ago, allowing parent Alphabet to top Wall Street’s earnings expectations and lifting its shares 4 per cent in after-market trading on Tuesday.

A leak and a flood are basically the same thing.

Zack Martin should demand a trade!

I think he was virtue signalling to people who he feels more politically aligned to currently.

Just here to wait for the pictures of Kelly Green.

Tua at 82 distracts you that Justin Fields is 86. He's not even top 86 in QB's. good lord
