Herbert seems like the most likely candidate to be the Philip Rivers of this generation - Elite talent, ton of production, great intangibles, but not expected to win big.

With Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, and Lawrence in the same conference, I guess somebody has to be the one outside looking in.

God help the AFC if somehow Caleb Williams ends up there.

With the #1 Pick in the 2024 draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select...

Kind of depends on what ST coaches calculate are options.  Squib kicks?

If squib kicks are the solution, teams would have been doing them all the time the past couple of years. But instead, they generally chose to kick the ball into the endzone for touchbacks. I suspect that's going to be the prevailing strategy going forward even with the silly new fair catch rule. And every so often a team will return the ball from around the goal line, just like they've been doing.

Basically I doubt the new rule is going to impact strategy nearly as much as most people seem to think.

I have the roster count at 89 right now.  Is that what everyone else has?

I feel like it’s not unusual for them this time of year. Keep a couple slots open

I have been ruthless on Quez for his clueless fumble on MNF and his horrific drop in the SB. That being said he had a 647 yard season at 15 a pop and 10.4 a target with a QB just learning how to be an NFL passer. By all accounts he has worked his butt off this offseason. He's way better than any rando nobody until that guy steps up big time.

354 last year and 647 the year before.

OurLads have 89 players + Josh Sills on the Reserve, so I think you are right.

I assume that Sills doesn't count for the 90 man roster as he is on the Reserve list

Andrew Thomas is very good and that's actually a pretty team friendly contract given that Thomas had his 4th year (this year) AND the 5th year option already on the books. That's the type of contract that will age very well until it looks too team-friendly (see Martin, Zack).

Mailata deal looking better and better too.

Holistic guy here

Micro dose Carolina Reaper hot sauce for an immune boost. Pair it with Oregano Oil and Raw Garlic for a trio that's an ass kicker against bad guys.

Do you ingest it anally, Elton John?

Is that why he is still standing?

Cam Jurgens gets the first crack at RG.

Good to see

Those are probably the only points of note from today.

It's always been this way but it's pretty amazing how completely worthless the press conferences are.  It's like lighting 10 minutes of your time on fire

If they are having Jalen Hurts protection conversation the same as always, I am greatly discouraged that they learned nothing from last year.  They need to have that conversation with urgency.  Any game he carries the ball more than a dozen times is a massive coaching fail for this season.  And even putting the mark at 12 is too high for my comfortability.

I suspect you are right. College didn’t change a lot.

A good sign for Avonte, although it feels like just a matter of time until he's back on the injury report
