I’m trying to convince someone ESP is horrible. What is the worst take you’ve ever seen him make? Needs to beat "Nikola Jokic is not an NBA champion because the nuggets rings are meaningless”

With enough at bats he could luck into a HR off a MLB pitcher

I’m looking for something horrible, that’s just an idiot puffing up his ego

I’ve said for years esp, Marcus hayes and joe giglio need to make a podcast called the hot garbage take podcast. Each week they come up with their worst hot take and everyone votes which is the dumbest

I don’t understand this at all. Why don’t you see Jurgens winning the job? Assuming however that Steen does win it, why isn’t Jurgens the backup center, as he was last year? And what about Toth, who’s working at center? That makes two backups.

A few assumptions baked in.

The first is that Stoutland has shown reluctance to switch up multiple positions when replacing one guy. We've seen it (Dillard/Mailata), but they try to avoid it.

My second assumption is that current roster construction is indicative of the team's plans. They have a pretty great setup if Steen is the starter. They chose to sign Dennis Kelly and not a center.

Third is speculative, but it seems like they want a bigger guy there. I don't remember if it was Lane or Kelce, but one of them said Seumalo was like 320+ lbs. last year. Brooks was listed at 330. Dickerson on the other side is at least 330. Jurgens just seems like a bad fit.

Fourth is long term planning. If Jurgens is the long term center and Steen is the long term RG, then what sense does it make to switch them around unless Jurgens is significantly better.

Of all the Philly sports media guys who have been axed over the years, it's unbelievable Marcus Hayes is still employed. Guy is a cockroach.

I actually respect that ESP never backs off a take no matter how many people pile on. If you believe in your takes, stick with it. My issue with him is I don’t think he actually believes many, I think he just likes to play contrarian.

but generally, when you know you’re 100% right, you should stick with your takes even if you’re the only one in the world who believes them.

Hmm, I guess the old classic, 76ers should draft Noah Vonleh instead of Joel Embiid

Every team that drafts a non-lineman or non-QB in the top 10 is losing value in their draft pick, no exceptions

 Noah Vondleh > Embiid

Damn. Got me.

I’ve also come around more to supporting "takesmen” because the other side is often just as insufferable. If someone had a take you trash that person for and they’re proven right, you need to bite the bullet and give them their due. Giglio has had several takes that he got absolutely eviscerated for and turned out to be right and childish and petty people refuse to admit that.

Giglio was one of the first on the "Wentz is overrated” bandwagon and was proven right and I’ve seen people say they refuse to credit him because it was just shtick. So petty and childish. If you’re gonna act like that, I actually root for takesmen to keep pissing people off because if you’re going to act like a little brat over something as unserious as sports, then you deserve to be baited into outrage. The level of anger people have over this stuff where people actually get threats shows you how pathetic the other side of the takes stuff are.

He also believes he could hit a homerun in an mlb game

A bad take, but still was done before either was any good. Everyone has wild pre-draft takes. Looking for something even after the fact that was wrong.

Jalen Hurts being a better model for the perfect QB over Mahomes is worse IMO

Yea, I brought that one up first.

I'm trying to think if he topped that or not with "If I had the fastest horse I could win the Kentucky Derby".

This approach is why people never learn and make dumb decisions. You should be changing your opinions with new information.

He could complete a pass in the NFL.

What, my opinion is always 100% right.  It's the world that's wrong.

There has to be a list of his top 10 worst takes. I’m shocked if crossing broad hasn’t done it. He also called the nuggets title meaningless. I think it was giglio last year who said they should trade harper back to the ante to get soto.

What if the only reason to have that opinion is to get noticed?

Most of his sports takes aren't data based, they're entirely subjective things. This isn't analogous to important life decisions.

Eh ESP makes 15 ridiculous hot takes. It gets people talking about him and clicks. Sometimes i think it’s just his shtick to get people talking about him and view his stuff. And he doesn’t actually believe a good portion of them. He hits on 1 of the 15. Giglio is basically the same way. He’ll hit on 1 of 15. If you put out 15 hot takes you are likely going to hit 1 or 2.

You can wear alternates up to 3 times. For the amount of teasing they've done, they better wear these 3 times this year.

If they wear them only once...

I wonder if this also means the black pants are gone. The black helmet and jersey are gone. They've liked wearing the black pants with white jerseys the last few years. The NFL doesn't seem to have a rule for how many pants a team can have.

I think WR and CB are decent top 10 picks.   If you hit on a number 1 WR or CB on a rookie contract, it definitely helps franchise success.  My anectdotal feeling is that pass rushing prospects fare worse than DT's and OTs as top 10 picks.  My feeling is that a top 10 OT probably has the highest success rate.
