Just for the Blog I'm going to power rank all 300 of Harper's home runs

Fingers crossed he stays healthy, but I think the Nolan Smith hype train might get out of control in the preseason. Think he's gonna run around 3rd string tackles like it's nothing.

First time seeing this.  According to Kempski Jordan Davis was looking very good as a pass rusher in the 2nd day of practice.

Jordan Davis was active in the middle of the defense. He got free and into the backfield on a number of pass plays. His most impressive pass rush of the day looked like a push-pull move, in which he dominated the lineman opposite him. (I didn't catch the number of the O-lineman, but it was one of the second-stringers.) Davis dusted himself off in celebration after the play.

Davis is going to have to prove that he can be more than just a run stuffer in the NFL for his selection at 13th overall to be justified. He looked good today rushing the quarterback.

Unbelievable that we will have Eagles preseason football 2 weeks from tonight.

F'in Flight Night

Hey, don't knock the one and only day best fans in football get to see their team practice.

Never should have changed, frankly.

One thing that has always irked me was something Lurie said at the press conference when they revealed the new midnight green uniforms in 1996. Instead of admitting that his wife didn't like the original color and that was the reason for the switch, he came up with the lame excuse that the green they had been wearing for years and years looked too much like the Jets uniforms and that that was the reason. It was an obvious fabrication. He didn't even need to give a reason but he gave that silly one.

I love the logo and helmets much more than what we have now. I don't mind the logo or midnight green but these just look way better

While I disliked the color switch they made years ago, I was a big fan of the new helmet design they introduced at the same time. The stylized wing added some pizzazz. I would have liked to see a Kelly green version with the current wing design rather than routinely going back to the old one.

May seem silly, but keep in mind he grew up a die hard pats fan. So it may also be a plausible reason

He told the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Ben Volin: "I was obsessed with the Pats. I was at virtually every single game in the stands for, I don’t know, 20-30 years. I was an obsessed NFL fan and Patriots fan, but quickly lost that when I bought the Eagles.”

Nice touch, but unfortunately a bad draft memory for the Eagles.

Ah yes, those were the days. Scrambling through your magazines to see write ups on players.

Used to love getting all of my draft and then season preview magazines. Athlon Sports, The Sporting News, Lindy's, Street & Smith's etc. It's also where my obsession with uniforms, gear and such began. Loved reading about FA additions, draft picks and such but then also comparing rosters in each magazine to see what numbers guys would wear (if they knew at that time). These magazines were gold to me.

Yeah it was definitely a much different time, just as fun back then maybe even more so. Getting excited knowing the new magazine was coming out this week and then running around to the different convenience store(s) to actually and hopefully find and buy the freshly printed mags, ahh that felt good. Pro Football Weekly was another I would often purchase. You couldn't have enough of these publications. The off-season for me is nearly as exciting as the regular season. It's just a different feel to it. The building process and unknowing and pivoting last second due to things falling through all which completely mold your franchise for the future is what gets me. One wrong move and it can sandbag you team for years which can then affect other team(s) as well.

Look at the Bears for instance, selecting Trubisky over Mahomes, what a organizational crushing move. Not only could they have gotten Mahomes at 2, but they could've even moved back, picked up a kings ransom and still had Mahomes as he wasn't selected until 10. For our team, we tried very hard to get Allen Robinson. Luckily the Ram snuck in last moment and basically saved us. We make that move and there's no AJ. Talk about a devastating domino effect that would've had.

I couldn't wait to read the local paper each morning to get camp updates.  We are spoiled now.

I'd go so far as to say it was a complete and total lie.   Never looked like the Jets too me, and I don't have the greatest gift for seeing greens as different.  And yet, never once did I see the Jets and confuse them for the Eagles.

There were so many bad draft memories from the early 90s.

Eagles Digest!

I’m officially old, being slightly annoyed at a young reporter describing a player as "def nice with it.”

Yup. Also remember back when the Patriot News here in Harrisburg used to have a page with "transactions". It was probably font size 4 but it's the only place where you could see what players signed and such. I remember checking that daily to see where guys I watched in college were signed as UDFA. As spoiled as we are and as easy as it is for us, there's just something about that time that was fantastic. The anticipation of getting the sports page after Dad was done reading it. My turn to read the sports while eating breakfast with Stewart Scott and pre lunatic Keith Olbermann on SportsCenter. Man those were great days.

I'd rather read someone say a player is "nice with it" than have to read something is a vibe one more freaking time.
