Also, as much as I love the Kelly Green and want them to be the main uniform, the Eagles current set is as good as it gets for a modern NFL uniform. Nike can do terrible things and the Eagles still look great. In a perfect world the Eagles would have full throwback home and away to go with the current set and they could split wearing them. The only thing I'd like to see is bringing back the black socks for the current set.

I was reading that Trey Lance is getting 3rd team reps with the Niners and could be traded. Remember back when they traded up the rumors were Mac Jones was their guy and everyone trashed them for being stupid enough to trade up for Mac Jones? Turns out he would’ve been a better pick than Lance, but Jones kinda sucks too, so no matter who the Niners would’ve taken that year, it wouldn’t have been a great pick.

There’s a few things to take away from this.

One, it’s not easy to evaluate QBs.

Two, don’t operate desperately for QBs unless they’re a can’t miss prospect.

Three, this is probably a big reason why the Eagles have a QB factory mentality and continually invest in that position even when they seemingly have the position filled. When you keep investing it in, it decreases the chances you ever get desperate enough to need to do a panic trade up for a QB in the first place.

Was a lot of people who said it was dumb to trade up in that draft for jones or lance due to the pandemic and not having enough film on a guy like lance who played once in a calendar year. I know alphagrand and I both said we wouldn’t have given up what they did to get Mac Jones or trey lance. Mac Jones hasn’t exactly set the world on fire in his career either. Both would’ve been a massive overpay. It’s why the eagles asked about dealing up for Wilson and it was too expensive and many didn’t absolutely love Wilson completely to actually pull that trigger. It was a bad year due to the pandemic to make the decision to trade what the niners did. Only Qb that looks worth it so far is Lawrence and he’d likely look better if urban wasn’t his coach his rookie year.

I’d also argue so far in Kyle pitts career it looks like he got overdrafted.

The Eagles at the very least need to update their numbers/letter font. They’re maybe the worst in the NFL.

We’ve seen a lot of reports of Davis looking slimmed down. That’s probably the best photo I’ve seen so far. He definitely has cut some baby fat.

How can anyone make Carter look like a LB?  Davis is a mountain.

Shanahan and Lynch botched that pick.  Lance was a very strong prospect, but raw.  It’s more developing the QB than evaluating them.  The Niners never gave Lance a full opportunity to take that position and go with it; they wanted to move on from Jimmy G, yet they kept Jimmy G around.  Then, when Lance got on the field he got hurt very early.

The comical part is — Lance would likely have been on the board if the Niners had simply stayed at #12 overall

I'm doubling down on the dead horse. Just browsing through team sites tonight, looking at their TC updates and it's just so damn depressing how much content every other team puts out. long highlight videos, analysis and some teams have photo galleries with 200+ pictures/day. Do the fans have any voice in asking for more from the Eagles?

Pretty sure people asked Dave on the old boards

I always thought it was odd Fields was never in consideration. He had athletic traits just like Lance did. Even as little as he's accomplished, he easily looks better than the other two.

Good for Rodgers.  Payton is a dick and was out of line.

That draft was a weird draft because of the pandemic. It’s why a lot of people werent thrilled with that class besides Lawrence or when the Eagles were mentioned about trying to deal up for Wilson. My argument has always been if you love a quarterback, then you should move heaven and earth to go get that quarterback. However, that draft of the pandemic, I don’t know how you had enough information to evaluate guys besides Trevor Lawrence and Mac Jones. Trey Lance only played one game in a calendar year.  didn’t have very many starts. So trading up everything they did to get him felt like they wanted a QB because they were tired of Jimmy G and gone as far as they could. I am sure they "loved” lance but i think some of that was the idea of trey lance and always him the person/player.

The thing with Mac Jones was people said they thought he’d be a competent NFL quarterback. The issue was would he be great enough to justify trading up high in the first round to get him. Which, so far through two years he hasn’t.

I'd say, based on this comment that the odds are extremely high that you are no older than about 35.

Nothing, absolutely nothing about that picture says "Jets".  That says, "E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!".

I was never a huge fields guy. I liked him but didn’t love him. I think people got infatuated with Zach Wilson’s arm strength and not realize he really only balled out during the 2020 pandemic year. I liked lance but not enough to trade up to get him and give up what the niners did. Too much uncertainty to do that. If he fell to 12 where the niners were I’d get it. Fields is dynamic as a runner. But he also tends to get banged up with his style and we are in year waiting to see if he makes that jump as a passer. That bears trade is TBD. If fields hits they obvious win. But if he isn’t a franchise Qb and Neal pans out for the giants it favors the giants even with toney gone already. Granted it could be that fields isn’t a franchise Qb and the giants whiffed on 2 firsts

I'm assuming he's making a joke about how the Kelly Greens were (allegedly) originally scrapped because they looked too much like the Jets uniforms.

I'd go so far as to say it was a complete and total lie.   Never looked like the Jets too me, and I don't have the greatest gift for seeing greens as different.  And yet, never once did I see the Jets and confuse them for the Eagles.

Me either.  Sounds like a really silly thing to say.

I don't think so, because he said something very similar yesterday.  I think he's just too young to remember the Kelly Green as the Eagles' proper color.

So here's where it gets tricky. They can still wear their black uniforms, just not black helmets. The all black was introduced in 2014. They have worn all black vs. the Giants every season since then except 2017. My gut tells me they wear all black against the Giants on Christmas, even though any shade of green makes the most sense. Just seems like a frustrating thing they would do. However, it's the perfect game for the throwbacks. You'd also think you want the throwbacks on display for Christmas and build up the hype for that game to boost holiday jersey sales.

They look great!  My only thing that might have made it better is if the wing on the helmet was closer to the current wing. Not complaining in any case, the wing still looks really good.

I'm hoping we just decide to always use these for every NFC East home game.

I like the Kelly Greens but I’ve never seen a sloppier reveal job.

I’m pretty sure Lurie said they aren’t wearing black jerseys this year way back when he announced Kelly Green. He said they would eventually pitch a rule proposal for 3 helmets so they could wear black.

If they can help themselves from wearing black and go KG for 3 games, I'm going all divisional games.

-October 1st against Washington. It's a rare 1:00 game and seeing them in a day game would be fantastic.

-November 5 against the Cowboys.

-Christmas Day against the NYG.

2 games that will be tempting. SNF against the Dolphins and 49ers game. The atmosphere for the 49ers game should be ELECTRIC. Make that a throwback game and I can see the fans taking it up a whole other notch.

Did he say jersey's or helmets? Tricky the way things are worded.
