That's not new.  Ask Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Or Paul Hornung and Alex Karras.

I understand where you're coming from and yea, losing the surprise onside kick is the big negative. However, with the way things are going, the KO and KR are all but being eliminated, almost to the point where if I recall, some in the league have mentioned just automatically putting the ball at the 20 or 25 to start the game. The Eagles have benefited from the onside quick a few times over the last few decades. The pickle juice game was incredible and that game never happens if they don't attempt and recover the opening onside kick to set the tone. Michael Vick's comeback against the Giants never happens without an onside kick. There are a few others I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting. Having David Akers helped a ton.

However, having kickoffs and returns is such a big part of the game.

Looking back, there were 6 KR TD's in 2022. In 2012 there were 15. Those plays can have a huge impact on the momentum of the game. Doesn't even have to be a KR TD, just a big return to flip field position.

Sidenote, I know Washington has changed their name but from a historical standpoint, seeing players that were Washington Redskins have their stats labeled as Washington Commanders just seems incredibly inaccurate. I get it, they changed the name but prior to last year, no one was ever a Commander. Brian Mitchell was a Redskin. Sidenote part 2, there's a Native American group that started a petition to change the name back to Redskins now that Snyder is out. Has over 40,000 "signatures". Probably amounts to nothing but it's interesting to see. Ron Rivera is even using the name again.

I'm just old now... and hate change.  🤷‍♂️

How does the XFL do kickoffs?

When is the Eagles next practice? They've been doing one day on one day off, so I assume tomorrow, but they're also doing the open public practice on the 6th. So at some point they're going to be stringing practices together multiple days in a row.

Fine by me. How would they do onside kicks or surprise snide kicks?

Google has been doing that lately. Not sure if they're promoting something or it's an actual bug but you could google someone famous and it'd be someone else

Very low key dude.

Higher than I was expecting for AJ Brown.

Teo practices in a row tomorrow and Friday.

Tomorrow.

Not sure this was a day off or a walkthrough day.  Press is excluded on walkthrough days.

apparently Jordan Love is killing it in camp so far , there is a guy who deserves success imo

How many onside kicks are actually done in a season, how many of those are a surprise, and how many are actually successful? I wouldn't miss onside kicks at all if the league went to what Lurie proposed with the 4th and 15 or whatever it was. 99% of the time they're extremely predictable, and of those I would wager less than 10% are successful.

We shall see.

I've also heard he's struggling.

3 out of 56 last year was what I found earlier.

Someone gets it. Guys make more money in 1 half of football to last a life time with some of the contracts they sign.

Brady is a smart businessman , he’s made more outside of football  , now he is set to make 375 million over 10 years with fox .
Mahomes isn’t as sharp nor does he have Brady’s personality .

I can't believe ESPN is possibly going to hire Doc Rivers to do NBA games with Mike Breen.

Who would want to listen to his voice for 2 and a half hours?

Goodell now throwing players in prison for 2 years for betting.

Brady doesn’t have the most engaging personality himself.

Mahomes is only 27. You can’t really compare him to someone 20 years older.

Patrick Mahomes has already earned $78 million as of February of this year. I think he'll be OK if he never played another down or stepped in to a broadcast booth.
