Thank God. Wallace getting 1st team reps is not a good sign for his development, its a statement of what bad shape the position is in on this team. Unless Sydney Brown can handle the starting job as a rookie and save it, its Fd.

He should get every 1st team rep to see if he can handle it or if a trade needs to be made.

I suspect you are jumping to conclusions prematurely

This is a hilariously psychotic thing to say

I didn’t think it was remotely funny.

I don’t know I’m always hesitant to put big expectations on rookies outside of the first round. Especially at a position like safety. I do wonder if Edmunds, brown and Wallace struggle through camp and in the preseason if they would go to the market and bring in someone like John Johnson, or try to make a trade

It is a long season and fielding the best possible players in Week 19 or 20 is the most important goal. Players improve with reps and what a player looks like in Week One can be very different than what that same player looks like in Week 18.

Masters of premature ejaculation

With Blankenship, is there evidence that athleticism is an issue for him? Testing numbers are fine, not great or terrible. I've never watched him and thought he was slow, but that's all the reason detractors say he might not be legit.

To me he looks stiff and not fluid in his movements.  To be a good safety, though, I would list instincts, ball skills, closing speed, tackling and angles and read/recognition more importantly.  I think his upside is Kurt Coleman-like, but I haven't seen enough of him yet to label him as Nate Allen-Marcus Epps-bad.

Letterkenny Stewart GIF - Letterkenny Stewart Wonderous ...

Some of what beat writers are saying:

Jalen Carter looks fine but hasn’t totally wowed yet, but had a play today where he embarrassed Toth.

Nolan Smith’s athleticism impresses.

Sydney Brown looks by far the most athletically impressive of all the safeties.

Watkins having a strong camp so far.

Morrow has struggled, but has mainly been asked to cover Goedert, which is a tough task for anyone.

Toth has looked awful at center.

Steen working all over the line - could indicate Jurgens has already won the RG job.

Cam Jurgens is looking good at RG. Really pops when you watch him play.

Swift being used all over. They love his pass catching.

Ngata has made the most plays of the non top 4 WRs.

Ringo hasn’t shown much, but today finally showed some stuff. Displayed athleticism.

Took a stab at basketball and couldn't get it done.  This was a tough one, and watching the last two minutes of games just doesn't bring to mind any players who played for the Hawks/T-Wolves.  Not too many storied franchises on this grid.

Maybe Mariota isn’t having as bad of a camp as we think.

Thats an absurd take, even for you.

There was a PC after a game last year after the NFC Championship Game.  She was up there along with his son.  She was doing the typical cute kid stuff that happens when you bring kids up to the podium on a PC and he snapped at her.  It was just so bizarre.  Can't help but notice it now anytime he is around her in front of the camera.

EDIT: Timestamped for 6:47.

Think it all you want but please leave it alone here.

I am not worried about Blankenship. I expect him to play better this season.  He is a smart player and will put himself in places to make plays.  I do think new LBs combined with new safeties may make for more communication breakdowns.  I am hoping Morrow's familiarity with Desai and the veterans at CB will help.

Been saying it all offseason.  Blankenship MADE great plays last year and MADE them on great players.  It wasn't just being in the right place at the right time and a ball dropping in his arms. These were plays he was making and he was making them on great top tier players in this league.  People have called him a JAG but he seriously flashed as a rookie.  There haven't been many defensive rookies for the Eagles that have flashed more than him over the past 20 years.

This is sort of my thinking, as well…

Apply that logic to the Edwards situation this offseason or the Seumalo situation.

He clearly scolded all 3.

Yup.

Steelers let go of Hargrave, James Conner, Kelvin Beachum, Emmanuel Sanders, Mike Hilton, Bud Dupree (good year before he got hurt).

If you want to go back further, Eagles killer Plaxico Burress.

Reportedly the Steelers wanted him to return, offering similar money.

What do you mean exactly?

Yeah, but he loves his sons and doesn’t care much for his daughter. Or something like that.

I remember watching that press conference that night, and in no way did I interpret Nick as being anything other than a loving father who wanted to give his children an opportunity for a special moment. They in turn behaved like little kids might, forcing him to gently reprimand them as needed.

Yet some nitwit interprets that to mean he doesn’t seem to like his daughter. It’s so fn distasteful.

The Eagles allowed Edwards to walk.  Does that decision on their part make Edwards damaged goods?

The Steelers allowed …

I wonder of they release Greg Ward if they eoll offer him a job on the coaching staff at some point.

I was thinking the social media team leaked them intentionally. Happy to see that’s not the case and that they got played.
