I guess the "Big 10" really has a west division now, huh?

I know what you are getting at... But, they actually ditched the divisions now and are going with the top 2 finishers to meet for the Conference championship... but with so many teams, how will they break ties between teams that might not matchup in a given year?   College football is getting crazy.   The "Big 20" could go to 4 divisions and have a conference semi-final, if they just add two more teams...

East - Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, (and add Pittsburgh or Syracuse)

North - Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Northwestern

South - Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Purdue,

West - Oregon, UCLA, USC, Washington (and add one more former Pac-10 team).

That's more teams than the NFL has in a single conference.  Just nuts!

Bo really went in on the LBs today and somewhat on the safeties OL 2nd/3rd teamers. Most of the beat guys saying absolutely no one has stood out at LB and it could be a bit of a problem. I forget what beat guy said even last year some of the LBs stood out in camp, but this year it's been a whole lot of nothing.

I like that Turner tried to go to the right side of the field on that.  If he didn't break the bat, that might have gotten over the 1B's head.  Tough break, but the right approach.

I just don't know how LBs are supposed to stand out in training camps where there is no tackling.

Bobby Witt Jr. is for real.  Showed the arm last half inning to gun down Rojas... then the blast to left center the next at bat.

Nola gonna Nola

Nola is throwing balls out a ton right now.

It’s why i said when sheil made the comment he did with Turner, basically can say that with multiple players. The Phillies have somehow managed to be right there in the wildcard and I’d argue like 4-5 players aren’t living up to expectations.

Schwarber, Turner, Harper (lack of power coming off the injury), Realmuto, Nola...

Injuries to Dominguez and Alvarado hurts a lot too.  Soto has been 'meh'.

Small correction there, he was not ruled innocent. Being found not guilty just means couldn't be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. He may or may not be innocent, no one knows the answer to that aside from him and his accusers.

Small correction.  Innocent until proven guilty is the bedrock of our criminal justice system.  The very nature is that he is presumed innocent.  The prosecutor failed to prove guilt so as a matter of law he is innocent of the crime alleged.  Innocence and guilt are terms of the Justice system in criminal matters.  The defendant has no obligation to prove anything.

What you mean is a criminal adjudication does not mean the alleged event did not occur but by the same token the allegation was not proven by the state.  Take the E Jean Carroll matter.  She won in a civil trial.  I have seen that some conclude that the defendant in that matter is "guilty”.  Guilt was not at issue, damages were sought.  That is why OJ is innocent but damages were awarded against him in a civil trial.  Of course, as it should be, criminal convictions require a much tougher burden on the state than a civil adjudication does.

How is CB Bucknor still working in MLB?

Was a big fan of his in the draft

So is Jalen Carter

Baseball 101.  Never make the first out at home, never make the last out at 3rd.

Strong disagree here. If the prosecution fails to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, he is not innocent of the crime, he is not guilty. Innocence in itself means the charges are false and the alleged crime didn't happen. That's why they say not guilty instead of innocent when they read a verdict. The onus is on the prosecution to prove guilt, if they can't prove guilt that just means not guilty. It doesn't mean innocent.

Not a great outing by Nola.  Good enough to leave with the lead, but the bullpen will need to hang on to this lead... and the bats need to tack on.  Can't just sit on the knife's edge like this with a team that's just not that good.  (current winning streak, notwithstanding)

Agreed. There have been 6 practices...2 in pads and not even sure if they were full contact, to the ground practices?  What's a LB going to do?

You'd like to hear that someone is flashing in coverage but yea, let's see what they do in the games.

This standing ovation thing the Phillies did probably just humiliated Turner.  Reminds me of when Sixers fans just overly supportive of Fultz or go wild the rare times Simmons would hit a 3.  Ben Simmons admitted it got in his head and made him not want to even shoot 3s.

He’s given up 3+ runs in 5 of his last 7 starts. And marte is back to being what he was.

Same here. Really liked him. Pretty sure he went with the 1st pick in the 3rd round and the Eagles picked at the end (Davion Taylor). Was hoping he would drop a little bit for a trade up situation.
