Oof. I was wondering how Ngata is even eligible. He was just with us. 5 years ago.

Is there anyway he gets out of his contract or do we have to wait?

Nope, just wait. No point fighting to bring him over for a team that is 3 years away from being even a playoff team. Especially after this fedotov situation, KHL isn't gonna let Michkov go a microsecond earlier than they have to

Sadly it's just the way it is now.  It's almost as if they are shrinking the criteria needed to get in.  It's not just NFL either as the NBA is also putting guys in that don't really belong.

Scott Rolen was just added to the baseball hall of meh, I guess he was a good fielder and a decent hitter.

What are we even doing putting his name out there? The HOF needs to do a hard reset on what they consider a HOF player to be IMO. It's beginning to look like the Hall of Very Good Players that Retired 5 Years Ago.

Eric Berry only played in 89 career games. Played a full 16 only 4 out of 9 seasons. Career high was 4 INTs twice (14 total), only 4 FF, 2 FR and 5.5 his entire career. The best thing EB did was return turnovers for TDs which he had 5.

Hell, Mike Zordich had 20 INT, 6 FF, 1 FR, 4 TD and 6 sacks.  Our old pal Michael Lewis had 12 INT and 14 FF and 9 FR. Is he HOF?

Damon Moore, who I thought was going to be the next big thing pre-injury, only played in 54 games. He had 6 INT, 2 FF, 3 FR and 1 TD. Not too shabby for only playing 3 full seasons.

That tweet wasn't from the HoF just Schefter talking about who retired 5 years ago and is now eligible.  In other words, this is Schefty putting out a tweet into the ether to be noticed.  Nothing to see here.

Alec Bohm!!!

Which team is fighting to be in the playoffs?  Hard to tell.   Disaster of an inning, just have to hope Marsh will be ok quickly.  The rest of this is just a nightmare.

Harper!

How is Eric Berry even in the conversation? He was good for a short time but always more of "what if” story.

You could say the same of Gale Sayers. They were both THAT good.

Harper!

Good to see him hitting the ball hard.  His power might be coming back... and not a moment too soon.

Now THAT deserves a standing ovation Mr. Turner. Even a curtain call.

Holy sheet!!! Turner finally!

Trea Turner!!!  He's alive!

Hello everyone!  Hope everyones well, gonna do some reading back but wanted you all to know I'm still alive!  This whole 'retiring' thing is beyond stressful!  Quick ask for you all, if you own a business in the Allentown/burbs area can you shoot me a PM.  Thanks!  GO BIRDS

I know football way better and this is a better score than I’ve ever gotten in the NFL one

Hoping he does what Ohtani did the year he returned from TJ. It was around the 250 day market he began getting his power back (3 prior). Hit 15 homers from that point on. Harper just passed that mark.

Trea Turner is back?!

HR and a 2B.  4 RBI night.

Now... on to getting Schwarber's avg over the Mendosa line.

Yeah... his return to the lineup was faster than expected, and good for it, but the power takes time.  He wrecked those 2 balls tonight.  The double would have been a Moon shot if he'd gotten any elevation to it.

Welp... this turned out to be a good game, pending Marsh's injury, it could be a turning point game.

I used to study criminal justice, so the differentiation matters to me, it's something I'm very passionate about.

Thank you for the candid response.  It leaves me with two questions.

Will a person who is charged with a crime forever have lost their innocence?

What verdict can a jury return other than (1) hung jury, (2) guilty, (3) not guilty?

Random thoughts on camp so far…

* Seems like the RG competition is over and Steen will be our Vaitai. He’s a Swiss Army Knife backup at LT/RG and maybe even RT. I’m curious how much his reps at LT are an indictment on Kelly and the other tackles.

* Swift’s usage will be interesting to watch. His ability is going to expand the route tree at RB this year. Angle routes/wheels should be there with Brown/Smith/Goedert commanding attention as well as teams spying Hurts. I’m curious if we see some pony packages with Penny/Swift, where Swift can move into the slot as a receiver or maybe he comes in motion for those tap passes.

* Would have liked to have heard a little more buzz about Davis and Carter, but the reviews seems to be ok to fine. As for some other rookies, Brown has been lauded for looking the part athletically but things don’t seem to be clicking just yet. That makes sense since we have our safeties play differently than what he did at Illinois. Ringo seems destined for a redshirt year. Ojomo has flown under the radar a bit, but his camp sounds promising. McKee should easily beat out Book.

* I intentionally left Smith out because he’s garnered the most buzz. I’m suspect his impact will be minimal early on due to our depth, but his skill set is so intriguing. I know some are concerned with him moonlighting at LB, but I love it. It’s our weakest position, and just being able to spot drop and not look like a fish out of water would unlock some interesting possibilities for the defense. I’m not saying he’s Micah Parsons, but to be deployed similarly (and effectively) would be so valuable.

* It would be nice if Dean would pop a little more in practice. I don’t recall reading anything of note about him to this point. Maybe he’s just a guy who plays better on Sundays after spending a week game planning for a team. Elliss likely is in the lead at LB. I don’t think Morrow is a roster lock, but I do think he at the very least provides a decent depth player. Considering what we have at LB, that’s important.

* If Jobe beats out Greedy then he’s getting cut, right? I haven’t heard a thing about Kentavious Street either. It sounds like Marlon T is having a nice camp. Ojomo wins any tiebreaker because of youth and cost control. That puts Street 6th/7th on the depth chart. Maybe he gets moved if a team suffers an injury at DT. Or maybe he joins the growing list of FA signings who get cut.

* It feels good to not be worried about the starting QB. Sounds like he’s made a big leap in the accuracy department.
