Is it just me or does this team inexplicably suck at pop outs? Just let the other dude catch it.

Seems bad for Tom.

Tom and Toth are not making the team unless they turn it around.

It’s just so weird that in a QB-starved league he’s out her panhandling for a job. There are some bad backup QBs out there, and he’d be a pretty good upgrade on most.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s holding out for the right situation. A bunch of guys out there like John Johnson, Jarvis Landry, Kareem Hunt etc that could be on a roster somewhere but aren’t.

The Phillies defense in general has issues. I think it was gelb on the radio that talked about it saying the Phillies have even said they overlook defense cause the figure the hitting will make up for it. Our best fielder might actually be ranger Suarez or Rojas.

Was a report hunt and the Vikings talking a couple days ago.

I also think there’s some teams that know they’re going to be bad this year. rather just be really bad so they are in contention for Caleb Williams to maye. Not that wentz is changing their fate but he is likely better than the current Qb in place. Also some teams with young QBs they rather just play. I’m wondering if he’s willing to fully accept being a backup

It’s always these infield pop ups though. Even the other night I think Lorenzen was under it the whole time until Turner comes screaming like a bat out of hell to catch the ball while tripping over the pitchers mound. Just back off.

Holy ish Bryson stott

Yes.  Not good at all.

And Schwarber with another knock..   if he and Turner both turn it on, Harper gets his power back and the kids (Bohm, Stott and Marsh) stay hot as they have recently... we might see another Red October.

Who told that fat F to run for third

Shwarber out by about 2 solid seconds

I think some is Lack of communication and some just not playing with each other a ton. lorenzen being new. Sosa and Turner usually don’t play together that often. They’ve had issues all year with communication.

Neither Toth nor Julian Good-Jones have done well as back up C so the Andrews signing makes sense. Has Tom taken any C reps?

Rojas, easily.  That kid is just so smooth.

Castellanos heating up again too!!!

Cause the Phillies routinely can’t run the base path. I swear they are the worst team at base running. I don’t know if they have been thrown out the most in the league but they have to be up in the top 5

Good question.  They've run themselves into outs far too much recently.

It’s close. Suarez would’ve won a gold glove as a pitcher last year if he pitched like 2 more innings. Was a shame he didn’t get enough innings. I think Rojas position defense is more valuable though.

nice to see schwarber, castellanos and Turner hitting well. It makes the lineup ridiculously hard to pitch too if they all get going at the same time. Also takes pressure off harper, stott and bohm who’ve been carrying the offense for a while

That's what it is for me.  CF is right at the top of the list for critical positions.  I don't really care if my pitcher can field... just get to first base when you are supposed to, and be sure to back up the plate and 3rd when appropriate.

Realmuto was up there. He’s not been as good this year. Granted they’ve run him into the ground with innings over the years so it’s not unusual cause he’s 32. I’m surprised they knew O’hoppe could be traded at the 2022 deadline and relamuto getting older that they haven’t taken a catcher early in the draft to develop over the last 2 years. They really don’t have a great catching prospect right now in the minors.

That was a great recovery by walker to get through 6. He looked bad the first inning and really settled in.

Might get one more inning now, nice job

I didn't notice his pitch count before commercial, but after a 9 pitch inning do they send him out for 7?

Low pitch count there... I'd have him start the 7th and see if I need to get him.  Have Covey ready, because they are about to put up a few more runs right here.  :flex:

Yeah it’s big cause they don’t have an off day til next Monday. So it really saved the pen.

I’m guessing since he’s been cruising the last couple innings. He’s only at 80. I do think he likely has a short hook.
