I don’t want to pile on the guy, but the best times we’ve had since he was drafted were A) anytime he was injured and B) every moment after we traded him

Revisionist history.  The first 13 games of 2017 would certainly be considered some of the best times... and paved the way so that the team could rely on the super streaky Nick Foles for only a handful of games to finish the job and bring home the Lombardi.

Whatever you might say about Jack & Cunningham the Eagles obviously thought both guys looked better than Davion Taylor

Heard they gave Taylor a chance to reach 23 mph. If he did they wouldn’t cut him. He fell short

Yeah I added that as you were quoting me

I don’t dislike Carson, he was instrumental in the team we became. But let’s keep the good times rolling and let him go ”help” NYG or DAL

I’d put his end of regular season in 2019 was pretty good. Only player in history to have 4000 yards passing without a WR having 500 yards receiving. basically was playing with a bunch of fringe NFL WRs and guys who should’ve been on practice squad at WR by the end of the year but managed to beat Dallas and get us into the playoffs. The he got KO’d by clowney in the playoff game and never was the same. Before clowney’ shot, he was coming in hot. That pass to sanders in the back of the end zone might have been his best pass outside of the 2017 season.

I personally don't understand the unreasonable hatred for him from some folks (not speaking of you).  I get not wanting to bring him back.  I don't think that would be a very good dynamic.  He can come back in 2027 for the 10 year anniversary.  And when he returns, he should be welcomed back warmly.

It’s not unreasonable if you look at him for who he is. He’s only about himself and he quit on this team.
I won’t deny how important he was to 2017, but man, everything after that Clowney hit has been hot garbage.

Most annoying thing to me about Taylor is that he didn't stand out on STs. I get him being a project at LB, but his athletic profile screamed stud STer.

The biggest problem about Wentz is not the 'living in reality' people.

He is an NFL pariah on merit. Nobody wants him based on his terrible attitude / leadership / hero ball / choke jobs.

The Colts had a 97% chance to make the playoffs with 2 games to play but  they also had Carson Wentz.

Phrases used to describe Wentz (In Indy by non-Philadelphians) are:

  • Selfish
  • Hero Ball / Unscripted
  • Resistant to tough coaching
  • Choke Artist
  • Not a leader

The Wentz polishers are the ones who have problems. The clueless who think they are neutral observers about Wentz are really just clueless. Let it go already.

This --- and I think after Dean got hurt, they realized they had too many Wills and needed some Mikes.

They don’t have any Wills unless you count Greedy Williams. Mikes is an even bigger stretch. Closest we got is Mekhi Garner.

I think it's time to move Driscoll down the depth chart all the way to Free Agent.  I can't believe he remains the 2nd team RT after last season and now reading how often he gets beat by our 3rd team DEs.  He can't play tackle and he is not needed at guard.

We're all a little squidgy around the edges or, in my case, a lot.

The Royals 3 starters in this series are something like a combined 3-26 with ERAs of 6.75, 6.15, and 5.32.

Tonight's tomato can has given up 5+ runs 9 times this year.

It should be a sweep and batting practice. Good luck on those players being the stars.

Yeah.  For a minute there it was looking REALLY good.  Then the wheels fell of and I just missed cashing

Even with all that, he’d be fine as a backup QB somewhere, you’d think. Baker Mayfield is competing for a starting job. Jameis Winston has good backup contract. Marcus Mariota disappeared from his team after getting benched and we handed him $5M.

I’d think a team with an entrenched starter could handle him as a backup. And if he isn’t a fit, they could cut him with little problem.

LOL are we still talking about Wentz? I loved the guy till he stopped being a team player. everything went south because of his inability to handle what happened mentally.

But make no mistake he was very good and a huge part of the reason we even got to a SB in 2017.

/story on Wentz.

It's 2023- and we are about to embark on a historic season, where this team either shows the normal collapse of the Superbowl losers, or writes new history on how to follow up a Superbowl Loss wand over come it!

   Reading way too much into drills where none of us know the focus.  I remember the same with Dillard because they were focusing on a specific thing with him in the one on ones that did not show up in games.  (Folks tend to,forget that they are also focusing on specific things for DL in some of those drills too.) Frankly, I think Driscoll is OL6 at this point and they are focusing on trying to turn Steen into OL7 where Kelly will be the emergency backup plan for him. (According to the beats, neither has shined at G).  I think Andrews was brought in as a back up plan for Toth as OL8 (C/G) because of Toth’s struggles with snaps and Good-Jones struggling as the back up plan for Toth. (Whoever is the emergency C is only C for any part of a game that Kelce might miss because Jurgens remains the long term plan at C. But should Jurgens have to play C, becomes his back up, and they hope Steen is ready as a RG.). Driscoll has seen more snaps with the ones so far in camp than any of the other back up OL (assuming as it appears that Cam is the starting RG).

By you reckoning, Nolan Smith is a flop because last night Lane Johnson owned him.

The Eagles light practice schedule is good for injuries but for a guy like Steen who is only getting reps with the 2nd team in a bunch of 1.5 hr practices it's not great for speedy growth on a position switch.  It'll take time

Nah, Driscili was schiooled on the field last season.  It is continuing in camp.  He is not good enough to back up RT.
