Not impossible to do at all.  What it says is that Hurts' development is ahead of Young's at this time ... ideally with more progress to come.

Is that what it says?   Or does it say that Young was sitting behind perhaps the greatest QB of all-time, but certainly of his generation?

Yup.  The only thing that makes me a little sad is that all the runs have come from the long ball.   I like the home runs, but I like the small ball too.  Manufactured runs to me are as much fun, if not more fun than homers.

I said he's not an athlete. You made a weak qualification. You discounted speed. 🤣

I proved you wrong with the RAS sheet. His shuttle was mediocre.

I direct quoted you on the lack of athleticism comment (first you heard of it)

I then proved to you he lacks athleticism (relative to top end NFL linebackers). Here is more proof with Georgia teammate comparisons.

Here is Quay Walker's RAS

Here is Nolan Smith's

If you pretended that size, weight, and speed have nothing to do with athleticism and that the only thing that defined athleticism was jumping high then the "first I heard of it" comment starts to make sense.

You are a liar.

YOU DID NOT USE A RAS SHEET.

YOU MADE UP A FAKE RAS SHEET USING HIGH SCHOOL DATA.

HERE, again, is a REAL Dean RAS sheet.  It's mostly blank.  He didn't do combine or pro day.

Here's Dean v VanSumeren  RAS Compare

It says both.

Agreed 100%

Don’t disagree. But It’s nice seeing them hit homers lately. They were near bottom 1/3 of the league up to a couple games ago. I also like seeing bohm get some more power. As a hitter it’s about the only thing he hasn’t been done at a great level this year. But it seems to be coming

Well, Hurts never made the decision to play in the USFL nor was drafted to play for a team with one Pro Bowl player on their roster so .... yup, he's ahead.

RAS-Gate

Late on this but Shwarber has such a beautiful swing at times, I could watch it all day.

Anyone else gonna be in Baltimore this weekend for the first preseason game? We live down here and it was only 20 bucks.

the swing reminds me of when Matt stairs used to connect on a ball. Stairs also had a really beautiful swing. Schwarber clearly better than stairs though

Dean didn't run a forty at the combine or at a pro day. The 4.74, I believe, was a high school time that a couple sites penciled in.

Hooray!!!

Who woke RR up?

I get using Ortiz in this spot... but this is a bad inning for him.  Good thing Cave had his bomb.

It would be interesting to compare Young and Hurts on a year by year basis ... Hurts year 1 vs. Young year 1 ... Hurts year 2 vs. Young year 2 ... Hurts year 3 vs. Young year 3

Its a weird comp because Young spent 2 years in the USFL and then 2 years with Tampa and then 4 years as a backup in SF before becoming a starter.

Sounds like an opportunity for an eagles history lesson.

He was in the Black Eyed Peas  Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.

Pretty much impossible to do.  Other than one dismal season in Tampa Bay with an historically bad team, Young wasn't a full-time starting QB until about age 30.

Yeah I was going to say it would be a tough comparison statistically because Steve young was cool joes back up for a while.

One thing I noticed watching the ITTB video yesterday was that they casually mentioned Justin Evans was running with the 2s. If he's healthy, I think he has potential to be a ST ace/role player for this team. He's shown the past that he has terrific read/react and ball skills. I'd much rather prefer him than Edmunds. I really don't have any interest on Edmunds at all to be honest.

I'd be happy with Blankenship, Brown, Evans and one of Ringo/Garner as a swing CB/S. Add a 4th safety after waivers.

I wasn't necessarily comparing their career paths more their playing style and ability.

Of course young was left handed but other than that I think they have similar skill sets and ability and size, height, weight etc.

Young was more athlete than QB coming out and he developed into one of the most accurate passers of all time who even in the later stages of his career could beat a D with his legs if need be.

He was also a strog runner and I think is still 2nd in rushing TDs for a QB behind Cam Newton.

Hurts had a huge leap as a passer last year and if he can continue to improve and grow as a passer he's going to be a big headache for a lot of years, not that he's not one now but that added improvement as a passer will only make him more dangerous.

Releasing Trevor Reid is a "WHO" moment for most, but I think it's notable. Guy has all the tools athletically and was apparently decent enough at camp. Wonder if he is a D-bag

Agreed.  Especially this early.  Either personality, or stupid maybe?   You can't look at 38 vert for a OT - 10 RAS - and know anything about his brain.  NFL teams might possibly have all that access,  but we don't.  Reid was on my "get these udfas" list, and I guess I was wrong, and I don't think the internet would have revealed the problem.   However,  they called him raw, someone online did at least, despite being a OL since high school.  3 years at Louisville,  2 as the starter.   Was at Georgia Military College the year before - 2019,  #1 JUCO OT - and the year before,  so 5 years of some college LT.  And high school highlights had him as LT and DE.

We really don't know about Dean, physically.  No Ras for him.    There were a lot of articles about him vs Lloyd before the 2022 draft.  Those articles all said that Dean was the freakbeast physically.  But no combine for him.  Lloyd had a 4.6 40 ballpark.  I would guess that Dean fully healthy, in college, was running 4.3 something or 4.4 something.

His last recorded/reported 40 time was high 4.7 and on tape he doesn't look overly fast.

It's nice to guess but I'll take what we actually have to go in which is that high 4.7.

Stop trying to make freakbeast happen, it's not happening time to move on bro...😒

Got em right where we want em.  Be great to have Davis push each receiver back 12 yards at the line of scrimmage 🙂

which isn't a bad idea.  you probably don't need 340 pounds to maul a split end.   You could have someone maul then rush.
