Similarly, how would you rank the CBs?

Here's one possible take

Slay
Bradberry
Maddox
McPhearson
Jobe
Ringo
Goodrich
Garner
Ricks
Scott
Williams

Sadly.  While the Flyers had a bunch of guys in those days who were good fighters, they had some real punching bags as well.  Greg Smyth almost never won a fight, Norm Barnes, Dave Hoyda, Riley Cote .... Mike Busniuk -- the stiff, who was also the one caught up ice to give up the 2-on-1 for the Bob Nystrom OT goal that lost the Flyers the Stanley Cup in 1980.

Hers wasn't the best part of that movie, but I got a chuckle out of that scene because I could identify with it.  I always hated jobs where I had to wear a uniform, and the white-collar jobs I had where I wore a suit were just a different kind of uniform.  I can remember a manager telling me he didn't like the tie I was wearing, when I could look around and see others not wearing a tie at all.  That was the last day I wore a tie.

Very happy I've been able to dress business casual (or just casual) for the past 15-20 years.

I challenge anyone to have a more emasculating job as a teen than mine.  I had to wear an apron and stock yarn.  Oh, you want to iron on a picture of Mittens to a tee shirt crazy cat lady?  Well let me walk you through the process!

That's right, I was a stock boy in the fabric arts section of an arts and craft store.  Not wood working.  Not oil painting or frames.  Fabric arts.  And then at the end of the day I had to clean the ladies room.  Men's room too, but that was usually spotless because.... well... men don't shop there and women act like barn yard animals in store restrooms.

I would have killed to wear pieces of flair and get tips.

I think Jobe has surpassed McPhearson at this point.

If you were to rank the six RBs in camp from 1 to 6 what would your ranking be?

The beats would seem to have us thinking it is:

Swift
Gainwell
Penny
Sermon
Scott
Brooks

Hard to say because they may be holding Penny back due to his injury history. I think he's the best runner of the RBs. The guy is a top level back when healthy. But it seems pretty clear Swift is their #1. I think Penny is the type of back that gets better with touches and can really wear down a defense so I hope they use him a lot.

Could see them using Penny in the closer role - grind down defenses in the second half after we build a lead.  Run out the clock.

Honestly- did anyone (other than the officials) miss not having Barnett last year?   I know I didn't miss  him.

No one seems to like him.

I'd switch garner with Ricks just going off camp reports.

Glad Scott is at the bottom, not sure why Gannon ever played him so much, he was trash, still not over him giving up that 3rd and forever to the cowboys which basically lost the birds the game😡

I see Penny in the Buckhalter role. He'll probably average around 8 carries per game.

We should give him a standing ovation week 1

At outside but McPherson seems to be solidified as the backup nickel, which is important seeing as Maddox is made of glass...☹️

Yea and I think Goodrich/McPhearson could be a good battle for the backup slot CB.

Yeah, I just see first guy off the bench for either outside spot as more valuable than the backup Nickel. The fact they all but gave up on McPhearson on the outside doesn't seem like a great development.

True, and McPherson at nickel is a good development  I'm my opinion.

I always thought he was more of a nickel anyway, I remember when he was drafted pundits talking about how his best fit in the NFL might be on the inside.

With the amount of multi WR sets teams play in the pass happy NFL now it's a must to have good corner depth in the outside and at nickel as nickel defense is basically the base defense in the NFL now

Either way Its nice to here jobe has played well in camp as well as McPherson.

I expect both will get alot of ore season reps on the field together

Be interesting to see who the first man off the bench is at the other corner opposite jobe?

Ringo, Garner, ricks???

I had high hopes for greedy but seems he's fallen on his face...

The top 3 are set.  I don't think we have heard much about McPhearson's camp one way or another.  Jobe and I think Ringo are getting snaps ahead of Williams.  Garner has apparently also had some good plays and has good size which may lend him to being able to play inside in Desai's scheme.  If they keep 5 CB's, my guess is:

1. Slay

2. Bradberry

3. Maddox

4. Ringo

5. Jobe

The others:

6. McPhearson

7. Garner

8. Williams

9. Goodrich

I'd guess Ringo is the next one but might be inactive on game days. I know for the SB they went with 5 active corners so I'd guess this year for majority of games it's Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, Jobe, McPhearson as dressed and then whoever else makes the team inactive. Eagles also had a small hedge last year with CJGJ and the ability to move him around in an emergency that they really aren't going to have at all anymore with Blakenship, Wallace, Edmunds or Brown the presumed S's.

You forgot Eli Ricks.

Look back to 2018. The Eagles were trying to run it back after SB52. The Eagles had as many as 10 CB on the roster. I'd argue none of the guys on the bench had nearly the talent that the current group has.

The starters were Ronald Darby, Jalen Mils and Rasul Douglas.

De'Vante Bausby, Josh Hawkins, Sidney Jones, Cre'von LeBlanc, Dexter McDougle, Chandon Sullivan were the guys they kept on the roster throughout the year.

This was before the practice squad rules changed and haven't roster rules changed even more this year?

I'd have no problem keeping Ringo, Jobe, McPhearson, Garner, Ricks and Goodrich. Even better if Ringo learns some safety.

I don't think they ever had 10 at one time. Bausby wasn't on until late November and only lasted a month. Hawkins wasn't on the roster until Dec 24th. LeBlanc was claimed in November. McDougle was only here for 2 weeks. Same thing with Sullivan, he was here the last 1/3 of the season.

This was also the year Darby tore his ACL and Mills hurt his foot around mid-season which led to all these moves. It's going to similarly take a lot of injuries and shuffling for all those guys to be on the roster.

I remember at least 8 at one time and posting about it.

Have you heard good things about Ricks in camp? It's kind of hard not seeing them play in person yet.  I am hoping we get a good luck this weekend.
