Interesting to look at their take on WRs.  I don't have Seattle that high

Def not 2nd but boy those 3 could be seriously dangerous. Lockett is just a pain in the butt player. Metcalf can dominate and I think JSN is a Justin Jefferson type of player. Will be interesting to see if Geno Smith is who he was last year or the ho hum journeyman from before Seattle. He sure has all the weapons around him to make him good.

Not to the level of Oz.

are the Eagles only keeping 4 WRs?  The Eagles have 2 great WRs who play almost all the snaps.   Watkins isn't great.  I'd see how it goes with Tyree Jackson in the Watkins spot.  And I've mentioned "Versatile Back" a few times.

Getting almost all the snaps at their position.
QB - Hurts
TE - Goedert
WR - Brown
WR - Smith

And you have 1 RB position.  I'll say Penny.

And you have one other position.

And that other position - the Versatile Back position - could have anyone there.  Sometimes it could be Watkins, sometimes Tyree Jackson, sometimes Covey.  Nolan Smith.  Long list of players with high ras to be on the field when Hurts is either passing to the 2 WR stars who are on the field almost all the time, the 1 TE star who is on the field almost all the time,  one of the RBs running or Hurts running.   That's most of the stuff.

I like the high ras versatile players at the versatile back spot.  Tyree as big red zone target seems good to me.
Brown, Smith, Goedert, Hurts, RB,  Tyree seems better than Watkins instead of Tyree.

Unless Watkins is traded he is a lock to make the roster.

I can’t imagine any NFL team wanting Driscoll to start for them…baring injury to their starters.

And considering that our OTs aren’t exactly iron men, I think he’s got as much value to us as anyone else.

We’re going to keep ten OL at most. I put Driscoll as the fifth best OT, with Steen and Kelly above him, so I’m guessing he’ll end up being cut. Better to get something for him now than nothing in a month.

I'm not suggesting Watkins be cut.   I'm saying that someone like Tyree should take snaps from him.  Watkins seems like a wr who could back up Brown and/or Smith.  And get some snaps at the slot,  but I'd prefer a mix of players at the versatile back position.  Some Watkins,  some Tyree, having Swift there while Penny is at RB,  and all the verfrebeasts  like Nolan Smith.

So, sure maybe Watkins is the starting WR3,  but the Eagles use TE2 (Tyree) in that slot spot more than they use WR3.   And they use a variety of different players in that spot.

The Phillies are only 3 Earned Runs behind the Braves.  They narrowed that yesterday to 3 from 8 by only giving up 2 Earned Runs while the Braves gave up 7.  Minnesota's offense is middle of the pack ... or a bit lower.  Braves have an easy series against the Mets though.  The two teams ahead of the Braves (in #8 and #7) are essentially 10 total Earned Runs better than the Phils. Is it "believable" that the Phills' pitching staff could go into next week as the 7th ranked staff based on ERA?  It boggles my mind.

They are already #7 based on WHIP, and being #4 is within striking distance.

New series on ESPN +  Not a very high opinion of our RBs.  Thoughts?

Not a very high opinion of our former RB either.

The best offenses in the NFL are all at the end of that list.  The only thing worse than a bad rb is a great one.  That means either hold outs or bad cap liabilities.

Bottom 20 is where an elite team belongs on that list.

Going to be very good

Let the Brian Branch vs Sydney Brown comparison begin! I know Branch went way before the Eagles were supposed to pick in round 2 but it will be interesting to see how the 2 players develop. Branch was a tweener S/NB but he has all the range you need to be a play maker. Here's hoping Brown can be something great.

I like this inning.

It's nice to see that being down 2  runs doesn't seem insurmountable anymore

Steelers have 2 UGA guys I would have loved, Pickens and Washington. Pickens needs to fight off his inner crazy though.

I would love to know the reasoning with the eagles. I am guessing the ability to stay healthy with Rashad penny and D’Andre Swift is a reason why they aren’t higher. Neither one of those guys have been able to stay relatively healthy throughout the course of the season. Penny is a really good runner when healthy (was the best last year before he got hurt). And swift is a really dynamic pass catcher. I don’t think penny is a great receiver though. fran Duffy touched on swift I’m his interview wih sheil. Pass catching and once he gets to second level he’s really good. But some other things he’s struggled with similar to sanders. I like to gainwell and he came on in the first row playoff games and down the stretch but if penny and swift get hurt i don’t think you just say he is able to get it done and/or do it for a bull of the season. Granted we use a rotation anyway. I like sermon but again unproven but has talent. Scott is a solid rotational back.

Id probably have them higher than Dallas cause pollard is coming off a really hard injury and in the postseason when he suffered it. Can make the case for the eagles over bengals as mixon also gets banged up a lot and not overly impressed with Perine.

Frankly Indy should have an asterisk. If taylor plays for them, isn’t traded and actually proves he can stay healthy this year they are that high. Also raiders have a caveat. If jacobs just sits out they might have bottom 5 backs in the league.

Might be the best the offense has looked all season including the first two weeks of June and really since the postseason last year before game 4 of the WS. They are actually clicking, scoring runs and hitting homers (which they weren’t doing in bunches up until the last 2 weeks)
