Even in preseason, Eagles giving up the longest field goals ever. Doesn't help that Justin Tucker is the best around but no one ever misses 60+ against them.

I don’t know if that happens but I brought up last year the fact they kept Trey sermon all year and while never really playing him or really even activated him besides the jags game. Kind felt like the eagles had a long term plan for him to be part of this backfield in 2023 and to keep his mileage down.

In the 2011 AFCGC Baltimore was going to the SB. They were driving vs NE and their WR had the game winning TD pass in his hands. The DB punched it out.

At least they were going to OT and then Billy Cundiff shanked a gimme.

The response to that miss was Justin Tucker.

I'd say its worked out pretty well for them.

Never noticed before but Tucker was Nick Foles teammate in High School  (West Lake in Texas  (Brees, Foles, etc)

While the Eagles are at halftime, can you explain why Topper has Castro in the starting lineup against a right handed pitcher, forcing him to bat lefty, where he can't buy a hit normally... but now he's in the middle of an 0-20.   AAAA player.   Still don't know why they made that move.  His defense hasn't impressed me, and his bat is non-existent.

Howie can try and trade Boston, but there likely won't be any takers.  Having him on the Practice Squad would be a lot like having Greg Ward on the Practice Squad last year.

I liked what I saw from the DBs overall.

Castellanos was just robbed.

I brought it up in the Phillies thread. He’s 0 for 13 with the phillies. He’s in the midst of a 1 for 28 slump. frankly besides april he’s been horrible. Since May 1 he’s hitting .174 with a .259 OBP and somehow an even lower slugging of .258. In April he was actually good .286 and .385 obp. All that said when the Pirates are willing to give you a player for practically nothing because they don’t think he’s that good it tells you everything you probably need to know about them.

I said in the Phillies thread a couple weeks ago they should’ve just brought up Scott Kingery and designated for assignment Harrison. You have to pay Kingery anyways, and he’s a free agent at the end of next year. if he was as bad as Harrison, you weren’t losing anything. at the time they needed to make a move, he was killing it in the minors. So you might as well try that and see what he was before even thinking of trading for Castro. 

that said, it feels like they blew their load last night and tonight can’t hit. the bats have been atrocious and not sure we get to 5 runs.
